9 Chapter 8

For your last hour before your shift of work you decided to play some games on your hinobi switch (yey) playing some chomp kitty or some fighting games since they are kinda the best out there anyway.

"Scarlett! Your gonna be late!" Simon yelled as you laid on your fully made bed as you continued to play on your hinobi switch. "I'm serious!" He yelled again as a muffled voice talked afterwards not understanding what it said as footsteps were heard coming up the stairs and stop outside of your door.

"Scarlett! It's me, Mitch, can you hurry up we haven't got all day!" He said as he opened the door seeing you playing on your hinobi switch as he sighed walking up to you.

"What?" You said as you finished another level as he took it out of your hands, you huffed upset about having her switch taken off you. "Meanie" you said as he looked at you with crossed arms seriously as you groaned getting up onto your feet.

"I know you hate being up early.... but it doesn't mean you can't work too" he said handing your switch back as you saved your progress and turned if placing on your side drawer before going out of the door. "I'm driving" Mitch said as you waved your hand in response not really caring since you were tired for being up all night playing chomp kitty.

At the HQ!!

You at in the lobby with haneesh, zahra and Mitch and obviously you sat between Mitch and zahra since you were playing the same game they were playing, because it was being a slow day with hardly any glitches to battle. Kris was groaning about being bored as hannah was looking at some bee coding books.

"Slow days are slow." Kris said as he looked at what hannah was so intrigued about.

"Yeah" hannah said as she continued to laugh while reading some coding.

"Ugh. *Pushes moving chair near you* what game are you guys playing?" Kris asked as you sat patiently waiting for your turn since you were in the lead.

"Board game based on a video game, based on a movie, based on a cartoon" Zahra said explaining what it was about which wasn't the greatest.

"All right, number number generator, go!" Haneesh said before rolling the dice before sighing. "Ugh, landed in tar pits again" he said disappointed that he landed there more than twice.

"Boosh!" Mitch said knocking his character from it's post off the gaming board as he smiled widely knowing that a nemesis was eliminated.

"Alert! Alert! I am receiving an urgent request for Hannah on the customer service line." BITT said catching all of your tables attention.

"Me? Who'd wanna call me on a customer——She answered co fused for getting a call form a customer before being cut off after a woman came on the screen that was projected from BITT.

"Hannah?" She said quickly.

"Geri?" Hannah responded shocked back.

"Kris!" He butted one wanting to be apart of something cool.

"Isn't that the lady who runs the vintage game store on zeddemore?" Zahra said confused why she would be calling.

"I hate those old-school games. They're so beeping-booping boring. Ugh" Mitch said as he leaned back on his chair showing how bad they are form his perspective.

"Only because you probably having beaten them" you said under your breathe as Mitch sat back up.

"What did you just say to me?" He said serious as you looked away like nothing happened.

"Nothing, I just said I agreed with you" you said before looking back at him with a cheesy smile as he looked a bit more serious at you.

"Sure" he said in a way making you look suspicious. "No" he said getting closer to you as you leaned back accidentally falling off your chair beside zahra as Mitch laughed at you as you huffed at him before getting back onto your chair.

"I hate you" you replied as he gasped at your responsed knowing you're Lieing.

"No you don't" he said with confidence as the others talked to call. "Right?" He said as he began to think you mean it.

"No I don't mean it" you said as a small smile creeped on your face as Mitch realised what stupid stunt you just pulled.

"I just got tricked" he said quietly as he laid his head on the table dissappointed with himself.

"Have you tried just turning your machine off and on again?" Hannah asked as Geri gave hannah a weird look.

"This thing doesn't wanna be turned off. Whoa! Easy, big fella" she said before the call cut the conversation short as Mitch rose back up.

"Uh.... I'd say that calls for our special kind of tech support" kris said knowing that there's a glitch to catch. "Let's go partner" kris said running off as hannah went after him as you sat leaning back on your chair.

On the road!!

"Explain why we had to ride kolruin to fight a easy glitch?" You asked as Mitch was driving the van.

"Quicker the glitch is taken care off, the quicker we can get those noobs glitches" he replied as you leaned your head against the window bored.

"Ehh?" You looked at the gadget that was showing BITT on the screen showing us to kris who is in need of assistance but he was moving very fast like he was chasing something that was heading to a grassy area through buildings, parks and other things.

"Typical" Mitch said as he stopped where hannah and kris was in middle of the field why were they here anyway.

"Well, look which newbie techs have gotten in over their heads again." Mitch said as you both got out of the van closing the door as you walked standing in front of the van.

"What is he doing here?" Hannah said frustrated while getting back up on her feet again.

"And you let it hack your ride? *Walks to them* Oh, no wonder you had to beg for help." Mitch said obviously mocking them as you went beside him.

"I did not beg! It was a very dignified rant" kris said walking up to Mitch acting like everything is fine.

"Well, let's see what it is you scrubbier can't handle this time" Mitch said as he moved them aside as he began to use his gauntlet to hack into their van.

"Don't open that!" Kris exclaimed as you moved out of view of the vans back doors knowing what's going to happen.

"It's the pixel from ping!" Hannah exclaimed not wanting him to open it.

"That boring old game where *moves his hand swaying them* you knock the little dot around?" He said as he pressed something on his gauntlet unlocking the doors.

"Wireless door control unlocked" the automated voice said as the red lights turned green at the back as Mitch stood waiting but was hit spinning before landing on the floor by the pixel that zoomed out of the van in a flash past you.

"Not as boring as you remember." Kris said as Mitch got back up, while you watched the glitch.

"Don't bother shooting at it, Mitch our emitters don't have any effect." Hannah said as you, Kris and hannah activated your speed boosts as you chased the pixel glitch.

"Shields!" Hannah said raising her shield bouncing to kris.

"Pixel is an old game" he said as he bounced it to Mitch. "Why aren't our gauntlets configured to fight it?" Kris said as it began to head towards him.

"Maybe because it's so old-school it's not even worth caring about?" Mitch said as be bounced it toward your direction so you raised your sheild bouncing it back to hannah making it into a loop of 4.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Hannah said as she hit it back at kris.

"Retro, classic, vintage. Three fancy wordsthat all mean... [grunts] old junk" Mitch said as be bounced the glitch at you as he and hannah argued about the glitch.

"That "junk" paved the way for... every game you ever played, punk" hannah said as she bounced the pixel at kris.

"No time..... for PvP duels!" Kris yelled angry that they were arguing as you stayed quiet used to Mitch ramming his mouth.

"Old school games are repetitive, boring, And easy" Mitch said as the pixel continued to voice in a now squared shake loop.

"You think this is easy!?" Hannah yelled wanting to know why he thinks Thai is easy.

"At least the later games allowed you to blow stuff up once in a while" Mitch said as be bounced the pixel at you.

"That's it. Later games let you blow stuff up." Hannah said as you bounced it at her as he headed it back at kris. "Keep it in play until I get back" she said as you all looked at her shocked.

"What!" You all day as she dashed over to Mitch's van as you quickly went into as new position, a triangle.

"Wait, wait, wait. Where are you going?" He said as the pixel hit his sheild as it heads towards you as he snatched his van go through a portal. "Where is he going.... with my van?" He said seriously before looking at you wanting his van back.

5 minutes later!!

It has been 5 minutes since hannah left with Mitch's van to do something hopefully about the glitch as you three were stuck with a pixel block tired from moving and hitting it at the other person endlessly.

"This is my nightmare, trapped in the infinity loop of a bad retro arcade game." Mitch complained as kris went back to knock the glitch to you.

"Did you say infinite loop?" You said as you began to type on your gauntlet after you blasted the pixel at Mitch before opening a portal after sending it back to him making him bounce it at you making it go through the portal as he messed with his gauntlet opening another portal as the pixel went through both of the portals as you collapsed onto your butt exhausted as Mitch put his hands on his knees.

"That shut the blippy thing up. Phew" Mitch said catching his breath as the pixel began to get faster and faster through the portals.

"Uh, why do I get the feeling that more silent means more deadly?" You said as all you three could see was a been of light going through both of the holes.

"Somethings wrong" Mitch said pointing out the obvious. "The portals aren't able to sustain—-" Mitch said as your portal collapsed as the pixel came towards you with more speed than it ever did straight at you knocking you down as it exploded Mitch's portal.

"You okay?" Mitch said as you sat back up before brushing your heart back.

"It is hard to find dependable portals nowadays." You said as Mitch rushed over to you seeing the pixel.

"Oh, Boosh!" He exclaimed as he held his hands on the back of his head in a panick.

"That's okay. Maybe the trees will keep the pixel in play for us" you said as you looked back seeing the pixel head towards the power plant at full speed through your visers. "Or maybe it'll bash its way towards the nearest major power-plant" you said in a not so happy voice as Mitch observed the surroundings.

"Okay, yeah, we can deal with this." He said trying to calm everyone down. "At least the trees are slowing it's momentum. Well have to cut it off" Mitch said making it sound like he has a plan as kris came to us.

"Are boosts don't go that fast" Kris said as you sighed.

"You wanna increase performance? Overclock your tech" Mitch said as you already began to overclock it as he demonstrated it to kris.

"That's a thing!" He said looking at Mitch's gauntlet before moving him away a little.

" it a thing the company tell you about" Mitch said to him as be pressed something on his gauntlet.  "Mostly 'cause it can seriously damage their hardware." Mitch said as be zoomed to both sides of Kris as he got abit excited about it.

"I wanna be wind" kris said excited Mitch quickly grabbed his wrist.

"Wait!" He said angry as kris moved his hand and continued to type in his gauntlet. "Once we overclock, we've got about 30 seconds max before our gauntlets overheat. Got it?" Mitch said explaining it to the newbie as you stood waiting for a sign to go.

"I was born ready" kris said as he began to get ready to take off as you all began to get ready to take off chasing after the pixel glitch through the forest.

It didn't take long for you to get way closer to the pixel than the others as you went though a father son camp sight first before them.

"Mmm, toasty!" You heard kris said as you sighed before focusing on the glitch in front of you as Mitch was a little bit behind you before being over taken by kris as you went onto a knocked down log while the glitch went through the centre of it as kris followed behind you while Mitch was catching up.

"I'm flying" Kris said as you saw both of them at both sides of you until kris ran into a tree, you hissed knowing that would've hurt.

"Ugh" Mitch groaned as you tripped a little before gaining your lace again. Mitch was able to over take the pixel "oi! Meet next gen, you retro!"  He yelled as he used a maxed shield to hopefully send it flying back it I stead it sent I'm flying into the lake.

"Kris! Your gauntlet!" Mitch yelled trying to get to the tech that was catching up to you, your gauntlet started to beep showing your gauntlet at 5% going down fast as kris was right behind you.

"Quicker" you thought as you tried to bring up the pace but your gauntlet instead overheated causing you and kris to collide and rolling and banging as you went fast behind the glitch before stopping in front of the power plant.

"No!" Kris yelled as you groaned sitting up as Mitch came from the trees seeing hannah come out of the portal on a unicorn as I began to blast I huge have of rainbows at the pixel taking it out saving the power-plant.

"Yeah! Whoo-whoop!" Kris yelled cheering for hannah as you stood onto your feet looking at Mitch seeing him exhausted.

"Oh, man, those graphics are terrible" Mitch said as he leaned against a tree glad that it was all over, as hannah contained the glitch into her gauntlet.

At HQ!!

You sat the chair exhausted form what you have done today as Mitch sat beside you with the same feeling.

"I'm never doing that again" you groaned as you began to get an headache.

"Tell me about it" Mitch said as haneesh laughed at us.

Hours later you were spending the night at Mitch's as he was watching a scary movie as you hid stood behind mostly scared before making a plan.

"I guess he won't like it when I record him being weirdly friendly" you thought as you sighed as you pressed record as you jumped back from behind him.

"Aww, kitty *turns his head around* do you wanna cuddle would that make you feel better" he finished before seeing you record as he blinked a couple of times as you continued o record the video making a noise he blushed red. "Delete it! *stands up* fuckign delete it! *blushes redder*" he said as you pegged it up the stairs ending the video sending to Zahra to save it as he jumped over the sofa chasing after you, and you know the rest..... the punishment. 😏
