8 Chapter 7

Days later!

You are part of Mitch's team with kris, Zahra and hannah.

"A pufferfish?" You said to yourself as you toggled with your gauntlet as Mitch drove the van with you in the passenger seat.

"Hey! Glitchs for brains! Save your sickening displays of friendship for never. Let's take this mob down!" He honks his horn at the newbies as he contacted the back up he wanted.

"Hannah and zahra, you're on support." Mitch said to them demandingly.

"Got you covered" Zahra said aiming covering us from the glitch.

"Burgy.....you do you" Mitch said with awkward pause as you got out with your weapon ready as he floored the gas with hannah in the van.

"Kris! Where are you?" He said as you shot at the glitch trying to find out any weaknesses making it easy to do.

Mitch's PoV:

Scarlett is in position and where the heck is kris.

"Ding-dong" he said knocking on my front window screen of my van.

"Let give this glitch stitch's!" He exclaimed as he used the magnetic function to hold onto the van on top.

"What are you..... oh, fine!" I yelled not giving a crap about the newbie as the glitch puffed up and pooed out more of its spikes sending it flying towards us.

"Hang on!" I said as I turned the wheel dodging the spikes before activating fly mode making us hover above and around the glitch.

"I'll keep us moving while the newbies scans for weak spots" I said as kris began to observe the glitch as scarlett and zahra continued to blast some of those spikes form hitting us.

"Good save Scarlett and zahra" I said to both of them since one isn't fast enough to prevent us form being hit.

"Yep" they both said serious trying to concentrate on the glitch.

"Kris, can you see a target?" I yelled to kris wanting to know if there is a weak spot.

"Ooh! Hello weak spot!" He said finally responding but not at me.

"Kris, wait for orders!" I yelled as he fling himself onto a spike then to a pole to prevent him from falling as he jumped onto some more spikes before heading towards the glitch as he landed on his feet unscaved poofing the glitch leaving everyone to be covered in pinkish sticky slime luckily not hitting me.

Me and Hannah screamed as the van was taken down form the air and luckily landed on 4 wheels safely before halting near a brick wall as kris began to try and do a celebration dance as scarlett tried to remove the sticky stuff off her uniform.

"What's your deal, kris? You're supposed to be support class!" I yelled as kris continued to dance and do a moonwalk around me.

"I am being supportive. By taking down that mob like it was corn on the cob" Kris said as hannah came forward as I stood not pleased.

"Uh, guys.....  we got lurkers" hannah pointed out as I looked to see some bystanders frozen in shock.

"I'll reset them. Don't want you lot mucking it up" I said getting my gauntlet read to memory wipe these lurkers but when I did kris and scarlett got in the way it was fine.

"Oh, nerds! You wiped kris and scarlett! Mitch just wiped kris and scarlett!"Burgy began to panic as I observed Scarlett hoping that she doesn't reset this time which could happen.

"Okay, okay, okay, nobody panic. Nobody panic!" Haneesh said trying to calm everyone down as I turned to him and zahra.

"Techs down! I repeat, techs down!" Zahra exclaimed as she picked haneesh up by his collar as huffed before facing away but looking at scarlett at the corner of my eye a-bit concerned that last was just a lucky blast.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Cool down, you bozos. They're fine" I said with a little irritated tone at the end as they got in the way and scarlett might not remember this or me.

"They're..... what" Zahra said as she dropped haneesh.

"Yeah, uh... kris kinda can't reset." Hannah said I still kept watch at scarlett as I saw error hover above both of them I sighed relieved about scarlett as she walked towards me still covered in pink sticky slime so I used my gauntlet as free her form it.

"Hey, man that's not a toy" Kris said to me as I patted Scarlett down before looking at kris.

"You don't reset? That's crazy weird" haneesh said as I stood in front of scarlett not making her part of this.

"Well it's not weird. It's cool. Right?" Kris asked confused and wanting to know if it's cool giving me an idea.

"No, it is weird. You're clearly so different from the rest of us. Makes you wounder what other strange little secrets he's got." I said with a smile hoping to knock him down a few and not make scarlett feel the same way either.

"Guys, come on, I'm not weird! Am I" kris said as everyone went silent around us.

"Everybody resets" burgy said nervously.

"Says so In the tech manual." Zahra said as her and haneesh went off.

"Hannah. You think I'm weird?" Kris asked his buddy hannah if he's weird haha newbies.

" you okay?" I whispered to scarlett as she nodded back at me.

"Uh, no, no, no, no! Not that you're weird. Uh, just that it's weird" hannah responded as she laughed nervously "lots of cool things are weird. Like honey on cheese or..... frogs" hannah said as she ended it with another nervous laugh Ugh boring.

"Okay, then. Us normal techs are going *clicks fingers as he backs off slowly* to head back to HQ. So enjoy sniffing your toes or eating lint or whatever it is you do, weirdo," I said before turning around hand gesturing Scarlett to follow me.

"Hey, you're the weird one, dude, cause I'm normal! I'm the normalest normal who ever normal'd! I'm as normal as——" as kris continued to say weird stuff I cut him off.

"You're being weird right now!" I said back as he screams 'nerds!'.

At HQ!!

No ones PoV:

You sat beside zahra as she was watching burgy and haneesh have a card game as you began to doodle when kris and hannah finally came back.

"Kris. I've set up a body scan in the smart room if you ever want to explore the mysterious intricacies of your brain... oh. Uh, it's nice to meet you" Zahra said showing a holographic picture of a pixled brain before putting away seeing how uncomfortable kris was.

"Sup, hannah. 'Sup kris. Watch out. I'm gonna flash ya! I'm just kittens" haneesh said joking Around making the atmosphere more less dull.

"Hey, Kris, wanna play sorcery cards with me? But I've gotta warn ya, I've built a pretty mean swamp deck." Burgy asked kris if he wanted to play the card game he won against haneesh as you continued to draw behind Mitch.

"Ah, Kris. Come to freak us out with your presence?" Mitch said catching their attention as you sighed slowly shaking your head.

"You know what, Mitch? *walks to him* you're right. I am a weirdo. *quickly goes behind him* I'm a weirdo *mitch walks backwards* and you better watch out, 'cause I got my * comes out form behind him turns him around before poking his jacket* freaky eye on you. Hmm? *Mitch backs away from him until he backs into the side where you are drawing as you look up* Boo!" Kris said scatting Mitch at the end as you giggled letting him hear you which didn't help him in the situation at all.

"Yeah, well.... you're....you're just a... whatever" Mitch said before walking off with nothing to say back at him.

"Jeez, what a weirdo, huh?" Hannah said as she rested her elbow on kris shoulder.

"You're the weirdo!" Kris said as he playful and gently hit her stomach as he locked her head with his arm as Phil walked past.

"We're all weirdos. Now get back to work" Phil said as he went past you sipping his coffee before noticing your drawing catching his attention. "What is that?" He asked you looked at him then at your paper.

"An oc" you replied as he 'hmm' at your response before patting your shoulder.

"Keep it up, maybe you'll be able to make your own game someday scarlett" Phil said before leaving the room as kris came over to see what Phil was on about.

"Wow! Dude, that's sick" kris yelled catching more attention to surrounding techs as you began to feel a bit anxious all of a sudden.

"I... uh" you tried to replie back but nothing came out of your mouth.

"Do you mind?" The voice of someone familiar came from behind you as kris looked up to see someone before slowly backing off.

"Wow, wow, wow, I ain't doing anything I promise Simon" Kris said very intimatedated by him before rushing back off to the others.

"So, what ya gonna name it?" Simon asked as he leaned beside you with a hand on your shoulder.

"Umm.... I have nothing" you said not knowing at all as you both sighed as you folded your paper before walking off probably to find Mitch.

Damn you really are uncomfortable when it comes to showing off your work.
