6 Chapter 5

You were on a mission with some of Mitch's crew members as kris and hannah took on some little problems since you're helping with the big one with kolruin.

"Hey, Mitch, we took out that clone swarm for ya!" Hannah yelled as Mitch was firing at the mother glitch.

"Yay. You ganked a few minions. You want cookie for following orders?" Mitch said sarcastically as he blasted again at the glitch as looked at it with awe seeing how awesome it looked.

"Eww" you said to yourself as you dodged some smile attacks form it as more minions were spawned in so you shot at what you could get your hands on for the time being.

"Haneesh, give zahra a boost!" Mitch demanded as you continued to take out some minions making it easier for shot zahra was going to make.

"On it!" Zahra said as she got her red shaped out of her gauntlet as haneesh got the ready.

"Speed boost!" He yelled as he swooped it as it landed on her making her very fast dodging every tentacle attack the glitch made.

"Hey scarlett watch this" Mitch said as you looked at him while shooting the minions blindingly as zahra chopped a tentacle off the glitch.

"Now back off and let me finish her" Mitch said with a smile as zahra stood up.

"Uh, what about it's splash radius?" She asked as you stopped as looked at Mitch.

"That was an order" Mitch said seriously as she moved out of the way for Mitch to make his move as he walked with confidence towards the glitch as he did something to his gauntlet that gave him a boost from his blast as it shot at the glitch "boost!" Mitch said as it hit the glitch causing it to explode as he looked at you with a smile as zahra rushed to you covering her and you with her shield as haneesh covered himself. As the glitch exsploded slime went everywhere and landed mostly on Mitch who was covered on it before shaking and wiping it off as he coughed form it as haneesh caught the glitch into his gauntlet.

You patted Mitch's back as he continued to cough probably form swollowimg some of that slime or something so you stayed by him.

"I did say you'll get sick" you said as he looked at you then away as he coughed some more as zahra cane after you with haneesh as you took him to HQ.

As you got back you, zahra and haneesh when you the lobby to give in the glitchs to the huge machine that holds them and shows the XP and leaderboard scores.

"Mitch's raid team is killing it on the leaderboard" hannah said gobsmacked of how much there is to catch up.

"What is the secret to rankings like those?" Kris asked wanted to know how to get that much XP too.

"Well, being that a teams only as good as it's leader...." Mitch said as he coughed straight after. "I'd say their secret..... is me" he coughed again as BITT came to him probably knowing what's wrong with him as he shoved a thermometer up his nose (lol) before removing it to see what's wrong.

"Diagnosis: you have contracted a nano flu. Quarantine is required" BITT said as Mitch quickly looked around him.

"Wait! What?" Mitch said as he was surrounded by this tube thing that kept him inside until he's better.

"Techs, get over here!" Phil instructed all of us as we went to him. "Okay, here's the download. We've got our team-based multiplayer glitches attempting to establish control points in the abandoned fun land theme park. So we need an opposing raid team *Mitch uses the floating tube thing to get beside Phil* to go in there and take control. Since our usual raid leader is dying apparently.." Phil said as Mitch quickly put his hands on Phils side of the glass.

"I'm dying?" Mitch said dramaticly like it's the end of the world 😂.

"Technically, all humans are!" BITT said as it moved Mitch away.

"I'm gonna need someone else to take the lead on this. So who's it gonna be?" Phil asked as you stepped behind zahra not wanting to be leader since it's too much for you.

"Whoa, no, not me, boss. Done it. Didn't dig it." haneesh said looking at Zahra as she played on her phone.

"Dumped all my stats into support skills so..." she said typing on her phone.

"I'll do it" kris said lifting his hand not knowing what's happening.

"Uh... ah, that's great. You'll be responsible for tactics team management, updating parameters and——" Phil said a kris butted In not wanting to do it.

"Okay, I'm bored. Hey! What about scarlett? She loves all that stuff you just said" Kris said as he pulled you from behind zahra.

"Uh, sure, I mean I could lead" you said uncertain what Mitch would think of you leading a team you tried once.

"Brain like a turtle, and confident like a cheetah!" Kris finished as he put you in a friendly head lock.

"A'ight" zahra agreeed with haneesh to have you as their leader for today's mission.

"Well, we're countin' on ya, boss. Don't mess it up" haneesh said as he tapped your shoulder as you laughed nervously before heading into the locker room.

Minutes later!

"What was I thinking I can't lead!" You said to your self as you saw a reflection of your self in the mirror in your locker.

"Yes you can! Believe I'm yourself" Mitch said as you liked to your left closing your locker door.

"No sweat?" You said as he looked at you seriously.

"Oh, there's sweat. A butt ton of sweat" he said not loudly but enough for you to hear as you eww at the thing he said about sweat.

"Our team has topped the leaderboards four weeks running, and I am not letting your lack of self confidence ruin our streak" he said pointing at you knowing full well how your leading of the last team went since they did not take you seriously.

"Just how do you expect to lead our team to another flawless victory?" He asked as you leaned against your closed locker with crossed arms.

"Idk, try my best?" You said not so full of confidence you had awhile back as a long rubber arm robot thing slammed against the locker next to you which Mitch is controlling.

"Your best? If you want to keep that streak and have everyone respect you the way they respect me, you can't show any weakness. You give orders. They follow them.got it?" He said as the hands rested on your shoulders since Mitch would never hurt you like he did to everyone else.

"But aren't they more experienced?" You asked him as he sighed.

"Yeah, at following their leader. So unless you want them to panic out there, make sure when they're looking at you, they're not just seeing you they're also see me." Mitch said as he let go of your shoulders as moved back slowly leaving you in the locker room on yourself.

Time lapse it's to the laser she stops acting like Mitch and starts to be herself.

"But the truth is, I'm nothing like him." You said as you began to feel abit anxious.

"Like we respect Mitch?" Zahra said confused like she never liked him at all.

"That guy is the worst who told you we respect him?" Haneesh asked you as it went silent for a short while.

"He did" all of you said at the same time.

"It's okay, you goof. I couldn't stay mad at this face anyway." Kris said as he pulled at your face which kind of hurt as he let go of you. "So what's the plan, cap?" He asked again as kolruin and puma stayed beside their buddies side. As you looked at everyone since they gave you smile giving you much more confidence.

"Hey, don't look at me. I am now open for

Suggestions" you said as you placed your hand on kris' shoulder.

"Okay, we need to take out their spawn site, but that rezzer ship is a real big daddy. It's gonna take something more powerful than our gauntlets blasts." Zahra said knowing what to do as haneesh I gently jumped with his hand up wanting to say something.

"Uh, yes haneesh?" You asked as he turned serious.

"These control rods they've been using are full of powerful glitch energy. If I hack them, I could redirect their output so we could use them to take down the ship." He said showing how much he loves hacking.

"He really likes hacking" Zahra said as haneesh stood with a smile knowing he does.

"I really like hacking" he said after knowing full well he does.

"Me and zahra can each take back a rod, but someone gotta keep those glitch's busy while we do it." Kris said as he patted puma you smirked knowing what to do as you you jumped onto kolruin's back.

"Oh I'll keep them distracted." You said as everyone fist bumped but you didn't say dream team.

You were able to shoot the glitch at the back of the head catching it's attention.

"Hey, scrublord! We're, and this time we're taking all of you out" you said as cheetah roared loudly causing a shockwave.

"Impressive. I admire your bravery. After all, it's four against 2." The glitch said as it made things clear that you are short on players but who said you can't pull it off.

"Oh, no, it's not four against one. It's four against 2 very strong and brave beings" you said which wasn't smart but also making things easier for you.

"But they're tiny and weak"  the rhino looking glitch said as you and kolruin got ready for battle.

"Let's rumble!" The big captain said as it dashed towards you exclaiming as it got its lunch ready but kolruin gave you a boost sending you flying and hitting the glitch in the face with your foot somehow knocking it down to the ground.

"Too slow" you said not seeing the other glitchs surround you.  "Oh fudge" you said continued to fight the glitchs on your own with kolruin who was blasting them with his blasts that come form his mouth when he needs to. You were hit by zed as you got sent flying to mecha who seemed to hit you with its horn back onto The ground which luckily you stood back onto. Before being grabbed and tossed to the ground giving you some injuries too.

"Ahh" you screamed as you moved out of the way before nearly being stamped on by the glitch then attacked by the flying robot with pointy feet as you dodged them. The rhino missed to grab you with the claw and slam into you but instead it kicked you sending you flying past the other two glitches making you land onto the floor again bearly getting up as kolruin showed up by your side with some scratches too.

"What are they doing?" The rhino glitch asked seeing the poles glow a pinkish light in the sky. "Tank, this team may be doing something to the control rods" it tried to warn the leader but he didn't care.

"Quiet! Nobody asked you! Did you think team enter name would be defeated so easily?" The leader yelled not wanting to hear it especially with that pathetic team name.

"Team enter name? Ha ha! Glitchs" you laughed at it while getting up onto kolruin with enough strength.

"Come here, you pixie!" It yelled before trying to attack you but kolruin dodged the attacks he was giving as you felt a weird surge of energy fill your body it you shook it off as kolruin growled at the glitch leader. They both of you went head to head as kolruin used his body to knock back the glitch but as it went away a few feet it was able to grab you.

"What kind of leader are you?" It asked yelling at you as you smirked at it.

"The kind who relies on her team" you'd aid as your gauntlet chimes getting full 100% on the hacking haneesh was sending to everyone. As the pinkish light turned blue as it began to head towards the dark gray clouds above attacking destroying the ship.

"Oh, fudge" it said as every glitch began to vanish.

"Yeah we did it" you said about exhausted and badly damaged but still had enough to stand up.

"Dream team" kris said as he went to you seeing the condition you're in but you brushed it off before feeling your legs go numb as haneesh and zahra caught you putting your arms around each others holding you up.

"Great job, scarlett. And hey.... mad respect" haneesh said as they began to walk back to the van.

"That was..... v cool" Zahra said as kris followed behind with kolruin and puma.

Back at the HQ!!

As you got to the lobby you couldn't help but put the glitchs away and see the leaderboard score before sitting down.

"So, looks like you didn't completely muck it up, kitty." He said a bit pleased of how you were able to do things while looking at how banged up you were.

"You know what Mitch? You never needed to worry about your precision score. Your team is amazing." You said as you looked at the three who helped you in the raid.

"Accurate" Zahra said with a smile.

"Aw, thanks, Scarlett" haneesh said completely touched about your compliment.

"Today was fun, I'm thinkin' maybe I should lead the next mission. What do ya think Mitch?" Zahra said knowing Mitch was right behind you, not a good thing.

"Yeah. We should start a rotation" haneesh said catching Mitch's attention completely as he looked at you but you didn't look back.

"What? What?" Mitch said shocked of what he was hearing.

"Gotta go. Feel better. 'Kay bye!" Zahra said leaving with haneesh.

"Come back here!" Mitch said trying to catch up with them.

"Ya done good, cap. But from now on, I give the orders around here" kris said as you both laughed as his hair put up to copy Mitch's.

"Boo-oosh!" Kris said as you screamed while running from him.

"My partner has been bitten by a Mitch-pure!" You said joking around with the situation as he continued to say boosh as you purposely ran around Mitch's tube as he saw how much fun you were having and making fun of him.

"That is not what I sound like!" Mitch complained as you tripped over hurting one of your injuries.

"Oo, are you okay?" Kris asked as you struggled to get up but stayed sat down on the floor.

"I just hurt a injury that I got from the raid that's all" you said as kris was pushed out of the way.

"So you were injured on your mission" Mitch said seriously as you turned to face him as he looked down at you seriously you smiled nervously as those robo hands were put onto your shoulders.

"If it wasn't for this tube I would've forced you to got to the medic immediately" he said as kris went infront of Mitch as you were in middle of them.

"Don't worry I'll take her to the medic just calm down" kris said as he began to lift you up putting your arm over his shoulder as Mitch followed after making sure he does.
