11 Chapter 10

Days later!

It was another day at work in the hinobi store as you were in a room with some of your work mates. Mitch, Zahra, haneesh, burgy, nix and kris.

"Hey kiddos! How is everybody?*looks at Phil* this is everybody, right?" Barbara said to Phil as he looked back at all of you.

"Uh, you all remember inspector seven from hinobi corporate?" Phil said introducing Barbara to everyone.

"Do you have some kind of special glitch mission for us?" Kris asked as every looked at them.

"This glitch tech branch is being booted offline while our server is down for maintenance." Inspector seven answered as everything was still unclear why you all were called in.

"What's wrong with our server?" Haneesh asked since he is like a kind of worry type

of person (I think) hoping it won't take long.

"Well, it's nothing to be alarmed about." Phil said making sure nothing bad happens. as the alarm went of in the distance as he stood shocked and serious. "I, um... excuse me" Phil said before leaving the room.

"Uh, where are our tech gauntlets?" Zahra asked as sat waiting to know what's really happening around here.

"Safely plugged into the main computer where I can access your personal data storage." BITT said revealing how much storage everyone has so far.

"Why do you need our gauntlets data?" Nix asked as BITT revealed his face again.

"Ooh, you're all going to play a little game called 'find the glitch'. All right, open the envelopes in front of you and peek at the card inside." Inspector seven said as everyone opened their envelopes as you hid your from Mitch your sat next to him again. "Only one card has been secretly marked 'glitch'" she said as she went to the said of the room messing with the panels.

"I get it. We need to guess who has the glitch card right?" Burgy said pointing out the obvious.

"Spoken like a true glitch" haneesh said messing with burgy.

" Ooh, well, the dials in front of you can be used to direct your suspicions.(moving buttons come up in front of you) when the votes are unanimous..." seven said as kris moved the moving triangle from above me to him. "The suspect must show their card.... isn't that fun?" Seven said as everyone moved all of their pointers to burgy making a circle ⭕️.

"I didn't even open my envelope yet!" Burgy panicked as a red x was shown above him showing he isn't the glitch.

"Yeah, but you're making that face you make whenever you get creeped. Remember are last case together?" Nix said as BITT brought up a video footage of them on last case failing to catch a glitch but it was burgy being creeped out.

The video footage said:

"Don't get creeped burgy. We can recharge at HQ after the mission" nix said to burgy in a dark house with strange furniture.

"I'm not creeped. I am simply experiencing a small peek of anxiety." Burgy said as the video was paused.

Not the video:

"Who was recording that?" Kris asked BITT as he shows up on the screen.

"Each tech's gauntlet is equipped with a 360-degree AR recorder that can recall footage from anything you've experienced." BITT explained as you sighed not happy about this at all.

"So you guys have actual footage of every glitch We've ever gone up against?" Kris asked BITT very intreaged.

"We certainly do!" BITT said he showed a video of Mitch taking down the puzzler glitch in season 1 episode 1. And then the glitch that showed up during the smash tournament, the copycat glitch, the glitchs kris, hannah and the little tech copied and pasted to beat Mitch's high score.

"Wow, nice music choice, BITT" you said to BITT as he kindly accepted your compliment.

"Once the glitch is found, this door will be open and you may leave. *leaves room doors closes* have fun!" She seven said as the door went black but the only things you could see were your opposite opponents the table, chairs but nothing else in the room.

"please begin your investigation!" BITT said nicely letting the game begin as triangles appeared above everyone's head in there own unique colour.

"All right, so who pulled the glitch card?" Zahra said hoping for someone to sum up.

"I don't think that's how it works Zahra" you replied as she moved her triangle ontop of your head.

"How does it work now, glitch?" Zahra said to you with a smile of confidence as you chuckled quietly as nix put his on her head.

"Trying to deflect suspicion, Zahra?" Nix said thinking she was the glitch as haneesh put his blue triangle over his head.

"He who detects it, deflects it" haneesh said as you quietly observed the situation trying not to laugh.

"Guys, we have a magic video player! We can see anything! Like all those embarrassing noises Scarlett makes..." Kris said as you fluttered as you looked at him serious.

"Kris!" You quietly exclaimed as you hid your face into the table embarrassed.

"You sure can!" BUTT said as it began to play embarrassing videos of you with every time you tried to speak and every nervous laugh you made the way you fall out of portals, the way you rage quit and the bit Mitch never saw when kris pulled onto your cheeks. At the ones of you fully laughing and every.... uh? Wha... on every surrounding objects. And when you fall over on accident and slip on slime or water.

"Hey, come on! Kris says a lot of weird stuff, too" you said as BITT put some embarrassing videos of kris on the screen, that's what I call payback.

"Who wants to see that?" Mitch said as you sighed knowing he's getting a bit jealous.

"Fine. Show me clips of Mitch Williams being crazy awesome....." you said as chuckled but you had a plan up your sleeve.

"That's more like it" Mitch said brushing his hair back as you chuckled.

"... but add fart sounds!" You asked as he jumped back from his seat as kris put a hand over his mouth like he wanted this to happen.

"What!" Mitch exclaimed as every cool thing he did was with fart sounds and he wasn't happy about that as he looked at you with revenge in his eyes. But suddenly starts to laugh at the video that was infront of him.

"Haneesh isn't laughing! Glitch!" Zahra said as she moved her triangle from you to haneesh as everybody put their triangles onto him making a circle.

"So, I don't find farts funny. That doesn't make me the ...yeah, okay, okay I got the glitch card!" Haneesh said with a laugh owning that he is holding the glitch card.

"Farts are always funny" Zahra said to haneesh as Mitch began to become agitated.

"Game over, BITT! Open the door" Mitch yelled demanding the doors to open.

"I'm sorry, but the door can not be opened until the glitch is found" BITT said but we already found the one with the glitch card.

"You're glitching, plasma-face!" Mitch yelled as he was suddenly stopped by the same smart Phil was worrying about earlier.

"Okay, what is that alarm?" Kris asked as they looked at BITT's screen.

"I think it's the glitch detection system" Nix said co fused as well.

"They did say the server was down." You said as confused as everyone in the room.

"What if 'find the glitch' isn't a game after all?" Haneesh said looking at everyone.

"But that would mean one of us was actually a....." Burgy said scared that one of you could actually be a glitch.

"Hold on. One of us may be an actual glitch?" Mitch said as he sat back down with crossed arms looking at everyone.

"Nobody in this room is a glitch. I mean, what are the odds of a glitch getting loose in headquarters to begin with?" You said as BITT showed every footage of every time a glitch was in the hinobi HQ headquarters raging havoc.

"I mean, this week?" You said a bit embarrassed about not knowing about these sudden events since you were around when they all happened.

"Yeah, if one of us was a glitch, we could detect them with our gauntlets" Kris said not knowing we don't have them right now.

"Uh, yeah, but you know, our gauntlets don't always work the way we want them to" Burgy said since he was right the signal and that wasn't the best anyway.

"But how can one of us be a glitch?" Nix said not knowing how to prove who's a glitch without his gauntlet.

"Uh, you've got a straight up processor between your ears, my dude" Zahra said not getting it.

"Scarlett knows all about that. An ultra-rare glitch nested in her buddies best friends friends brain this summer. Didn't it scarlett?" Mitch said as he looked at you seriously as you rolled your eyes not bothered about his excuses, since you were it's him all that day anyway.

"And every tech knows that whoever gets too close to a possessor glitch can become possessed themselves." Mitch said showing a picture of hannah being controlled by the glitch to help smash things up with grace who was a t-Rex.

"Look, if you wanna show clips, have BITT show everyone the time that copycat glitch made a copy of you!" You said waving your finger at Mitch.

"Yeah! How do we know other Mitch's clones aren't sneaking around?" Kris said holding onto your side of the bargane.

"Yeah!" The others exclaimed as it showed the clips of the copycat incident.

"Nice try, but that copycat glitch made clones of everyone, remember?" Mitch said as he looked at you with a smile.

"I wish I was my clone. Not to brag but he was so good at dancing" Burgy said as you leaned back not looking at Mitch as haneesh and nix argues over a sandwich.

"Hey, what if the glitch is someone on senior staff, like Phil?" Nix said not realising that he isn't in the room.

"Phil isn't even in this room, you guys" Zahra said supporting Phil. "Besides, if we're nominating glitches I'm still gonna cast my vote for haneesh" Zahra said thinking haneesh is the glitch.

Minutes past and the investigation is going nowhere!!

"Wait, wait, please wait!" Mitch yelled pausing the funny video. "Aren't we all forgetting the fact that one of us might actually be a glitch?" Mitch said turning it back serious.

"Boring" Kris said thinking Mitch is being more serious or too serious. "Hey, you guys wounder how many times we've actually said the  word glitch?" Kris said a BITT began to play every clip of the time anyone said the word glitch.

"Scarlett's, not the glitch!" Everyone yelled at Mitch or BITT.

"Well of course she isn't!" Mitch yelled knowing full well you're not the glitch. "But now That I've got your attention again, we can concentrate on the real culprit" Mitch said as you sat up wanting to hear what mr Williams has to say. "All this time, you've been wound up to go in silly circles while the real glitch has been drawing attention away from himself. Isn't that right... kris?" Mitch said pointing at the person sat to your left as everyone looked at him.

"Me? That's rich! Coming from the worst greifer on the glitch techs team" kris said showing videos of Mitch being a greifer.

"Fine, Kris. You can have a go at me all you want. But we all know how your story adds up." Mitch said as be began to walk around the table. "Kris was one of the only players to log in remotely to the hinobi smashball tournament earlier this year. Hannah shot his ball into the hoop for the winning shot that day, causing a glitch that nearly took down the entire store. Instead of being reset like a normal person, the weirdo alerted another stooge... causing the release or a viral glitch at the arcade. . And infiltrated glitch techs as a new trainee. His first day, he destroyed the training sim.... and hacked into the central computer releasing a dangerous glitch into HQ. Since then he nearly destroyed her gauntlet, assaulted her follow techs, refused to obey order, snuck unortherised personnel onto company property, and befriended a rogue tech modder.... who nearly destroyed HQ." Mitch said sitting back into his seat as everyone turned their buttons putting their triangles onto hers except you.

"Okay, okay, okay, I know this looks, but I'm not a glitch, you guys." Kris said trying to say he isn't a glitch as you felt a bit of rage.

"This isn't funny." You replied as things were getting intense.

"Come on! The boy can't reset." Mitch said as you sighed before standing up.

"So... are you calling me weird and a glitch, remember I can't reset too. So think before you bloody speak Williams or it won't be just me you'll be losing at the end of this stupid game!" You said angrily as you looked at him thinking what to do.

"He's rebellious! Destructive! Even if you can get past the rest of it, you gotta admit his gaming skills are off the charts! I mean, think about it. His reflexes are inhuman. Nobody, not anybody could be that good. He's a glitch Scarlett. We have to turn him in to inspector seven!" Mitch said as you looked at your button as you held onto it thinking what to do.

"Scarlett?" Kris said making the decision harder than it already was as you looked at him then back at the button thinking. You sighed before clenching your first punching the button breaking the game.

"What are you doing?" Mitch said a he stood up looking at you.

"What if kris was a glitch? What would any of you do about it? Zap him with your gauntlets? Not all glitchs are monsters. What about puma or kolruin? Even BITT is part-glitch. All out tech, everything we rely on, is made form plixel technology, the same as glitchs are. If kris can be a glitch, that also means glitchs can be intelligent, brave, funny and loyal. So I don't need to know if kris is a glitch or not. And neither do you. All we need to know is that he's our friend and ally." You said as everyone looked at you speakless for a second as BITT vanished.

"Thanks, bud" kris said thanking you for the support.

"If you were a glitch, you'd tell me, right?" You asked as you stood next to him.

"Totes, dude" he responded as you fist bumped showing that you two are frienamies as the room suddenly became full of light again as the door opened.

"Oh, good news, everybody. Looked like we found the glitch." Seven said as you looked at her knowing it would never be kris

"And here he is" Phil said bringing a rabbit looking glitch into the room "little nuggets been gumming up the works for months now" Phil said as everyone came forwards.

"That's the glitch?" You asked as you looked at the little thing as Mitch was behind you.

"Yeah. I'm going to go flush him" Phil said before disappearing again.

"So, why were you keeping us all locked up in here?" Mitch asked moving in front of you.

"Uh, well, we didn't want to alarm you, or have you royally mess things up." Seven said as she looked at you seeing you seriously stressed. "Was the game that bad?" She asked looking at you as Mitch moved out of the way.

"No, the game was fine it was a certain somebody who made things tougher than it needs to be" you said as you walked out of the room leaving.

"Kris, I guess I had you wrong." Mitch said holding his hand out for kris to shake as kris accepted it.

"No, you were right. My gaming skills are off the charts. Boosh. And someone else other than me needs an apology, *pokes him* from you" kris said putting Mitch in a head lock messing his hair before letting him go.

Minutes later!!

You were in the gaming room on yourself as you were playing the new chomp kitty game that came out as the doors behind you opened and closer.

"You're playing chomp kitty, hmm" Mitch said as you scoffed ignoring him as he sat next to you since you were in the middle. "Look I'm sorry for earlier, you were right it wasn't funny" he said trying to explain as you ignored him. "Please talk to me!" He said making you die in the game as you aggressively placed the controller to your right side as you looked at him.

"If I was a glitch..... what would you think of me?" You said as you looked away from Mitch as you clenched you're trousers.

"My feelings wouldn't change" he replied as you sighed.

"Liar! You don't care about me *you stand up* you never did so why are you apologising now , and you know what I mean" you said not looking at the tech as zahra came through which wasn't the best time and gasped at the scene.

"Mitch, what did you do to her?" She said as she could only see the expression you were making 'crying'.

"I.... I made a huge mistake" he said as he stood up with guilt as you faced away form him as you folded your arms together.

"Tell me the truth Williams! What if I was one, tell me the truth!" You yelled as it gave Zahra the idea that she should leave Makimg sure no one enters the room until it has been sorted between both of you.

"I would still love you!" He yelled back as you groaned not believing him.

"People... they only like me because I'm pretty and good at gaming! nothing else," you said as you began to walk but was stopped by Mitch as he hugged you from behind.

"Can we talk about this in a different room?" He said as he looks at you from the side seeing you cry knowing now what he's done.

"I....I am a terrible boyfriend. I'm sorry that you had to put up with me for this long, just please let's talk about this, I'll never ever get a opportunity to meet some as kind, strong and amazingly spirited ever again, so please let's talk" Mitch pleaded as you tried to tile your tears away but they would stop. You felt his arms unwrap from you as he walked in front of you as you looked at the floor as his hand lifted your chin up to look at him you never saw him as worried and as guilty before. "Look at me, baby" he said as you took a couple of seconds to look at him in the eyes as he used his thumbs to wipe your tears from your eyes before hugging you. "You don't deserve to be treated so badly, so I'm going to make it right but I'm still going to keep being myself" he said as you hugged him tightly as he placed his chin on the top of your head as he hugged you back.
