3 Two

"Why black?" he asked, leaning against one of the shelves.

I groaned internally. Not him again.

But of course, he wouldn't leave me alone.

This was our daily routine. Whenever he saw me, he would throw out questions and comments, anything to get my attention. I would ignore his calls and he would follow me around like a lost puppy.

And the same happened this time.

I could hear him dragging his feet behind, something he always did when I ignored him.

"Noona. I asked you something." Annoyed.

"Noona." Persistent.

"Noona." Whining.

"Noona, you dropped something." Stern.

I looked down, checking if I'd dropped anything.

"Here. You dropped the jam back there." He said, tossing it into my trolley.

I did drop it at the shelf, but I had decided I didn't need it because I was too lazy to pick it up.

"Thanks," I muttered, making him grin as if he had just achieved his life goal. And that was to make me talk to him.

Even though I had met him just a few weeks ago, it seemed like I had known him for years. That was how often I saw him around. And it was annoying.

"Noona, why weren't you at the gym today? Did you sleep in? I missed you." Jungkook pouted at the end, his face resembling a toddler throwing a tantrum. Letting out a deep sigh, he turned away, only to turn back with excitement.

"Noona, watch this." He chirped, picking up two packets of candy from the trolley and juggling them. I narrowed my eyes in irritation, watching impatiently as he tossed the packets into the air. The first few tries went pretty well, until the fifth try when Jungkook threw them up too high and they landed in a stranger's trolley.

I groaned, thinking of another candy-less week. I hardly had enough energy to go through the store once, much less walk back for a packet of candy.

"Looks like someone is gloomy about no candy." Jungkook teased in a baby voice when I clicked my tongue.

Even though he never got a reply, he seemed to be pretty content with the one-sided conversation.

"You know, there was this chick at the gym today, and she kept looking at me. I swear, she was drooling over me every time I flexed. Well, I did it more today just because. But that's not the point. She'll be coming to the gym regularly now. I wonder-"

I tuned him out and made a turn towards a different aisle, hoping he hadn't noticed. When I didn't hear his annoying voice follow me, I let out a puff of breath before strolling to the billing counter. It had been a peaceful Monday morning until a certain someone had decided to pop up.

"Can't he just leave me alone? Doesn't he need to go to school or something?" I mumbled, wondering how he happened to be around whenever I was at the store. He looked old enough to be in college, but he seemed to behave as though he was older.

"Whatever, why am I even thinking about him now?" I scowled at myself, allowing my mind to wander back to my schedule at the office.

I sighed, thinking about the report I had to finish for my father. Today would be quite boring, what with all the candidates I had to interview. Most of them would be fresh out of university and would be too enthusiastic to realize the stress of having a job.

"Noona! I got you!" Jungkook popped up right in front of me with his hands raised in the air, while I was getting my items billed.

"Noona, can you buy me a lollipop?" he asked, and without waiting for a response he chucked a few caramel flavoured lollipops into my cart.

"Will these shut you up?" I raised an eyebrow, pointing towards the addition to the cart.

He put his finger to his chin, pretending to think, "They're definitely sweeter than you are. But!" he lifted a finger, grinning, "I'll pass. I like you Noona." he nudged me with his shoulder, while the scowl on my face deepened.

"Honestly, are you five?" I muttered, walking around him with my bags.

Jungkook only chuckled. "Noona, why can't we just be friends? We bump into each other so often." He whined. I scoffed at his choice of words. We had only bumped into each other once, and I was sure he had planned to bump into me all the other times.

If it wasn't for his baby like features, I would've called the cops on him, for being a stalker. And somehow, he had figured that out. It was too obvious at that point. He knew that too, butbstill pretended to be oblivious.

"Ah, I see that you don't think of our meets as coincidental," he smiled sneakily, dragging his feet behind me.

"Will you stop following me?" I turned around to face him, propping my bags down on the ground.

"For now, yes. But you have my candy." Jungkook bit his lip, bending down slowly while he kept himself close to my figure. I watched him from the corner of my eyes as he picked his candy from the bag before he pulled up again.

Leaning in close he whispered in my ear, "We'll be seeing each other a lot more, I promise you. Soon. Very soon." With that Jungkook picked up my bags and headed towards the parking lot, giving me a cheery salute before leaving them next to my car and walking away.

_

I pinched my eyes shut and let out a deep sigh, while Jungkook watched me with an amused smirk.

"Ah, the promise, it makes sense now." The pain in my temple suddenly increased and I couldn't believe this was only the very first interview. I probably would not have the energy to deal with the rest if my first interview went this way. And we hadn't even spoken yet.

"Coincidence, don't you think?"
