Chapter 18: An Old Friend

Izuki Midoriya POV:

I was walking to the 1A classroom and share the good news about joining the class. As I approach the door, there was a lot of noise coming from inside.

I knock on the door and a very tired "Come in" was heard.

I went to open the door to be bombarded with questions and congratulations.

Then I heard a voice...

A very familiar voice, Kacchan.

A muscular boy made his way through his classmates by pushing everyone in his way. "Get out of my way, extras!!"

Then I saw him, his ash-blonde spiky hair, his fierce crimson-red orbs, his muscular frame, perfect jawline. We stared at each other's gaze for who knows how long until he spoke.

"Deku?" He said, mouth wide open and tense.

I ran up to him and hugged him, I was sure that he couldn't breathe because of how tight I'm hugging him.

He held my waist and gripped my shirt, still frozen.

Then, he did something I never would've thought he would do. He pushed me back, looking down at the ground.

"Kah...chan...?" I asked carefully, afraid that he's mad at me.

"Outta my way...extra" Kacchan murmured, as he exited the classroom.

My face fell and stared as the humongous door closed shut.

I turned back to my classmates and put a happy face on and started chatting with them, my mind still flooded with questions.

It was already their lunchtime and I was still in my costume without the hood. I was walking with Iida-kun and Ochaco-chan towards the canteen as I was joining them for lunch.

We sat at the table with Shoto and Tsuyu. Shoto beside me and Ochaco across from me. Beside her was Iida-san followed by Tsuyu and others.

I ate while as they were chatting with each other. I was really worried about Kacchan. 'Did he forget about me or something?'  My thoughts were cut out by Ochaco telling me that I got a message.

Toshi

>Toshi: Dad said they might have patrol later and I have somewhere to go later on. You might have to walk home by urself

>Toshi: I'm having lunch with dad and papa rn.

>Izuki: Okay, Toshi. Have fun!!❤️

"Who was it?" Ochaco asked.

"No one important" I replied, putting my phone down.

"Hey...Midoriya?" Ochaco asked, hesitantly.

"Yes, Ochaco ?" I questioned.

"Who was that on your wallpaper?" Ochaco asked again.

"Oh... Erm..." I hesitated. I don't think Kacchan would wanna let them know we know each other yet. "Just an old friend, no one important!"

"Oh okay then? But don't you want to eat, you still haven't touched your salad" Ochaco said.

"Ah yes! Okay" I continued eating my food and I felt someone stare at me. I look around and caught Kacchan staring at me. When he realized that he got caught he quickly looked away.

He looked sad and dazed. 'That's it!! I need to talk to him!' I stood up and

walked up to him and told him that I needed to talk him. He agreed and we walked out of the canteen.

Once we were out of sight of the other students. I opened my mouth to say something but he beat me to it.

"Hey Deku..."

"You still calling me that, Kacchan..."
