7 Mission Failure??

Before executing the plan Mina had a very important task and that was to dodge the venomous attack from the two headed spider. The cave was engulfed in darkness as soon as Mina extinguished the ball of lightening in her hand. An eerie silence filled the whole cave with both parties at stalemate condition but it was without doubt in favor of the spider. The dark was the domain of the spider. Any moment the spider could attack them.

"Fuzzy, aren't you ready yet?" Mina urged in her head as time was running away.

[Host it's complete.] The system answered telepathically.

Fuzzy had taken his physical form as soon as the spider had started the attack. It had its own duty to complete while Mina was buying time.

"Then it's time for some roasted spider." Mina with a flick of her hand created a lightning bolt in her hand. Being sensitive to bright light the spider went in frenzy mode as it dashed towards Mina with its fang and venom ready to attack her. It didn't have time to notice the circle on the ground where the woman was standing but when it did it was already too late.

In a one swoop the all three of them were transported to the stony and rock area just outside the cave. There were no trees to provide shade and upon exposure to day light suddenly, the spider could only attack randomly. The spider was not having the best of the condition and the same went for Mina who was now already adversely affected by the miasma.

The notification which was on halt suddenly appeared and Mina knew it was not a good news.

[Four minutes have passed. Your stat has decreased.]

[Health: 50]

[Agility: 0]

[Strength: 20]

[Mana: 35]

[One minute left until the barrier dissolves.]

Mina was sluggish as she tried to muster up her strength. Even the use of lightening ball in the cave had a toll on her Mana and dodging the attacks couldn't fully protect her. Her HP was decreasing gradually. The spider roared out which seemed more like a cry for help. Mina shuddered when she imagined other such creatures coming to help it. If that did happen then Mina knew they were goner.

She gathered all of her energy in her right hand as she stood before the spider which was coming towards her now that it had gain some rationality. 'Let this end it.' Mina prayed in her heart as the powerful strike launched at the spider at the speed of light so the spider didn't have time to dodge and counter it. But she underestimated the spider as it was still standing even after the massive damage.

[Warning!!!!] A message poped up in front of her.

[Health: 10]

[Agility: 0]

[Strength:0]

[Mana: 5]

[Thirty seconds left until the barrier dissolves.]

"I still have a fight left in me.: Mina chuckled as she struggled to get up. With her remaining Mana she created a tiny lightning bolt and threw it right before it's eye. The ball exploded into bright light that did no physical damage but the strain caused the spider to lose its balance. When it staggered it's head hit the hard rock here and there dealing physical damage. But looking at the still standing spider Mina knew she had failed. "Oh,Whatever. I tried my best." Mina fainted on the spot due to over use of her power suddenly.

What she didn't know was the spider fell down the moment she fainted.

[Congratulations!! You have completed your first mission successfully.]

[Calculating rewards and bonuses. They will be provided soon.]

Lord Ganiveil who was watching the battle got up frustrated and spawned himself to the location where Mina was unconscious. As long as she was dead his position was sure to increase in the realm of rulers. Since Host and the system were connected their tiredness and damage was quite equal so the system also had entered a hibernation state. It couldn't sense the danger looming at the Host.

There was murderous intent in his eyes and the bloodlust was strong enough to churn up the blood. Since the girl had fainted anyway he could easily eliminate her and make it look like she failed the mission. Just before he could attack the defenseless woman with a swirl a figure appeared right before her taking a protective stance.

Seeing the pair of dark and ominous horns Ganiveil frowned as he gritted his teeth. "You are not supposed to interfere in the chosen one's mission, you know right?"

Damian spoke nothing as he looked at the woman with complicated emotions in his eyes. He picked her up and was about to leave when Lord Ganiveil shouted, "You will be penalized for invading in someone else's dimension, don't you?"

"I think Lord Ganiveil should worry about himself. You tried to attack the chosen one even after completing the mission. Others were watching everything."

How could he forget that everyone was looking at the battlefield?? Ganiveil cursed himself when he finally realized what he had done. Two heavily armored soldiers appeared and took his hand from both sides. He couldn't run away. He had committed a grave mistake that almost toppled the balance of rulers but he couldn't understand how he forgot something so important.

Beth: "Master you played dirty now."

Damian: "I am not the type to play good guy. He reaped what he sowed."

When his consciousness had come to visit the system he had cast a hallucinating spell on the Lord which was not that strong but since it matched with the true intentions of the Lord it worked. It was in no way his fault and interference.

Beth: "...…"

"You are evil master but I like that about you."

It was the third time since she had lost her consciousness after arriving in whatever situation she was in at the moment.

"Fuzzy??You there?" Mina opened her eyes just to meet another surprise. "Where in the world am I?" Mina gasped in surprise as she looked at the stars that were twinkling in the dark background.

[Host this is the EX-dimensional space.]

"What's that?"

[These are the linking bonds between the dimensions. Look behind you Host.]

Mina looked behind her when she saw a glowing pink sphere.

[That pink sphere is the Lagirithin, the dimension we just went to.]

Mina who was finally awake asked the system, "Fuzzy, didn't we fail? How come we are okay and alive??"

[Host we passed the mission as the spider finally died at last.]

[You can check your award and bonuses. Proceed? Yes or No?]

Although she couldn't believe it she was excited about the rewards. "Yes."

The familiar hologram appeared before her.

[All the stats have become normal.]

[Health: 100+ (50)]

[Agility: 50 + (5)]

[Strength: 50 + (5)]

[Mana: 50 + (5)]

[Current level: 2]

[Since we retreated once all of the rewards have been halved.]

[Bonus: You have attained the title of Roaster. Your lightning strike will now deal extra damage to the target.]

[Restrictions: Since it consumes large Mana it can be used only once a day.]

Mina was okay with everything even the restrictions but…There is always but in life.

"What the hell is the title?? Why do I sound like a cook in a chicken restaurant?"

System: "...…."

[Don't blame me. you said yourself that you were going to roast some spider.]

Mina wanted to refute but she remembered her declaration. "Let's roast some spider." She just sat there with red puffed off cheeks. Whether she was angry or embarrassed only she would know.

"Pwahahahaha,," Beth laughed as he eavesdropped into the interactions between Mina and the system along with his master. "She is really funny."

"Go do your job." Damian looked at Beth. He was not going to take no for an answer.

As soon as Beth left Damian revealed a smile as he looked at the two bickering pair. He wanted to protect this woman but he didn't know why her presence felt so familiar to the one he was trying to forget.

[Host.] The system sounded serious all of a sudden so Mina had no choice but to stop sulking.

[Using magic is okay for now but you need to learn the use of weapon. Many battles in the future will require your own power as well.]

" I know I am weak at the moment but all I know is a little bit of archery that I learned when I joined archery club in my high school." Mina was a little troubled seeing her own shortcomings and problems.

[As long as you know the basic you can surely master it a bit by bit.]

[Since we don't have much time until next mission appears we can only do basic training. Proceed to training ground?]

"Yes," Mina answered all fired up.

Mina found herself teleported to a training area with circular targets all over the ground. Some were fixed some were moving while some were floating in midair. If she had seen it for the first time she would have been surprised but now that she had seen so many thing, such thing could no longer pique her interest.

A bow was handed to her with a casket containing five arrows.

"Why only five arrows?" Mina asked as she checked the bow.

[That's the maximum arrow you can have at your current level.]

If it was the rule than she had to abide by it. After a rigorous training of one and half hour Mina could perform half decent for a beginner. Although hitting stationary targets was easy the suspended and moving targets were at another level for her.

[Since you are exhausted you need to regenerate your stats.] The voice of the system finally broke her concentration. She knew rest is a part of training as well.

"Let's head back then." The bow and arrow disappeared leaving Mina speechless.

[It will appear as soon as you summon it. I have weapon storage system after all.] The system sounded smug.

"Ok Ok I understand you are the best." Mina rubbed the smooth fur of Fuzzy as they got ready to head back.

With that Mina was once again brought back to the Ex-dimensional area which was now full of jelly fishes like in the first room. She knew what she had to do without being told.

As soon as she touched one of it a message appeared.

[You have successfully chosen a mission.]

[Mission Progress: 1/10]

[Half an hour left before entering the next mission.]
