15 The Invitation

After Mrs. Jackson explained everything she knows that happened, I didn't say a word.

After waiting for me to say something, and I didn't, she started the car and continue driving to Vampire Town.

My life just gets complicated every day.

My mother was forced to abandon me, sacrifice her life for me to live.

And my father?

I don't know what to think about him, I believed everything Mrs. Jackson said but there are exceptions.

My mother didn't kill Margareta, there is no way I am not safe with my father, it could be Mrs. Jackson's perspective, she never liked werewolves, she grew with vampires, so there is no way she won't be loyal to them.

I am going to do what I can to clear my parents' names. I can't let Lucien think my mother had anything to do with his mother's death.

I even speculated Lucien found out what I am that night, also found out who my parents are, that's why he ignores me like we were never together but Mrs. Jackson disputed it that he only know that I am a werewolf, doesn't know my parentage.

We may not be together, but I can't let him find out about it, I am the daughter of his mother's murder, even if I know in my gut it isn't.

First I have to find out who my father is, then I will know what to do from there. I don't get why everyone I trust lies to me like I don't have feelings.

Mrs. Jackson said something about my father being the alpha of the first werewolf pack, Silver pack. I will have to find out where the pack is located.

When we were close to town, Mrs. Jackson interrupted my thoughts, as she gave me a small bottle, of what? I don't know.

"What is this?" I asked.

"It is herbs that I mix, it will hide your scent, we are about to enter a town full of vampires, I am not sure if you now smell as a werewolf should since you already went through transition, we have to take precautions in case."

"Okay," I whispered as I opened the bottle. I drank the whole bottle.

"Are everyone in town vampires or witches?"

"No."

Hours later, Janet and Linda came to visit me.

"Hey, baby girl!" Linda said while entering my room.

"How was the trip home?" Janet asked as she jumps on my bed.

"It was okay."

"What's wrong? You seem off." Linda said, making Janet sits up and looks at me

"I am alright, nothing is wrong."

"Don't do that, in these few months we have known you, we can tell when you are sad, happy, excited, confuse, and all other emotions. Right now you are sad and confuse, so girl tells us what is wrong." Janet said seriously.

I smile, it is good to have great friends like them.

"I found out about my biological parents today."

"Wow! That should be incredible! What's the problem." Linda said mystified.

"My mother Is dead," I announced.

"What?" Linda asked shocked.

"When did she die?" Janet asks with a tiny voice.

"Few minutes after I was born."

"She died from childbirth?" Janet queries.

"Yes."

"We are so sorry," Janet says as she and Linda hug me.

"What about your father?" Linda asks,

He is alive, but I don't know where he is or anything about him."

"Do you intend to look for him?"

"Yes."

After the sad moment to lift my spirits we all watch a comedy, I love my friends.

The next day in school during lunch, Linda and Janet were talking and laughing out loud at Linda's jokes.

"Why did the kid take a ladder to school?

Because she wants to go to high school." Janet and I burst out laughing.

"Hmmn" Someone cough calls our attention. We all look up to see Lucien and Freya whose hand was around Lucien's waist.

"What do you want?" Janet asks glaring at Freya.

Freya smiles.

"We are having a party at the Thorne's home, you are all invited."

Freya says giving us three invitations.

"Sorry to burst your bubbles, but we are not coming," Linda speaks for us.

"It would be a shame, I was looking forward to your presence." Freya pouted.

I look at Lucien because I could feel his on me. It is the first time, he has openly looked at me, since that night.

"Please I will like you to come." He said talking to the three of us but was staring at me.

I blinked, why does he want me to come to the party?

"We would try to be there," I said avoiding everyone's eyes.

"Thank you." Lucien reply. After they left, Linda and Janet gave me the 'what the hell look'

"Why?" Linda asks.

"Linda drop it not now well are home, we would discuss It," Janet said looking warningly at Linda.

I began to suspect that it is because if the vampires around but it means Linda is one of them or knows about them or she is a witch.

I wonder which one is it.

But I refuse to ask Mrs. Jackson about it. I will be a hypocrite since I am not ready to tell them about me, so I let her tell me if she wants to.

The day went by without incident, it was on everyone's lip that the Thorne's are hosting a party. Janet said if we are going to the party, we needed to go shopping, which I reluctantly agreed to.

We went to the diner first, while Janet and Linda called their parent to tell about the change of plans.

"Why did you accept the invitation Silver?"

"I couldn't say no when Lucien asked," I answered frankly.

"The party would be filled with vampires and witches, I was also invited, you have to keep a low profile."

"Don't worry about me, besides you will be there to protect me," I said smiling.

"Do you know what it is about?"

"Not really, they want to announce something important but I don't know what."

I wonder what they want to announce that the whole town including humans was invited.
