6 Stay away from him

The next day something unusual happened, Lucien was at my house very early to pick me up to go to school, I actually thought what happened yesterday was a dream or an illusion like what I had two nights ago but him coming to pick me up made me realize it was true.

Lucien declared to pursue me till I agree to date him and acknowledge our connection, he also stayed with me till I slept off.

The feeling I had was very nice, since I came here my life is been better than before not that I don't miss my grandma, I do, but that doesn't mean I won't acknowledge the difference in my life.

I now have caring friends and a bold admirer who I also like, I would have accepted the connection but something inside me want to test if Lucien is worthy of my love before I give me a chance, he is going a long way to prove himself.

Lucien is here to take me to pick me up to school, when we got to the school's park, the whispers begin again, I am starting to adapt to the school's gossiping and the town's in general, well it is a small town where everybody knows everybody.

Linda and Janet are quick to approach me but they seem very wary of Lucien and they don't even feel comfortable with him.

I told Lucien bye but he drags me back to hug me goodbye. I couldn't hold my blush, I knew immediately Lucien left I will be bombarded with questions.

"Come on girl you are a real bad bitch!" Janet exclaimed.

"You work really fast girl!" Linda added.

'What are you girls talking about?' I asked feigning ignorance.

"Do you know how many girls have been trying to get Lucien's attention for years and within two days you already have him wrapped around your fingers," Linda said excitedly

"You mean he hasn't dated anyone recently?"

"No, I mean he hasn't dated anyone before, not that I know of?" Linda answers.

"There was a time that rumors were flying around that he and Freya were a couple but there was no real evidence to back it up, so I don't know how true the rumors are," Janet added.

"Really? Lucien and Freya, I really can't imagine that even though I don't know them both yet.' I said casually.

'So are you both dating?' Linda asks.

'No, we aren't.'

''Then what was him protecting you from Davis, claiming you are his in front of everyone, carrying you home, staying with you throughout, bringing you to school and hugging you, good and I am sure if you allowed him, he would have kissed you. What was all that all about?"

"He was just been nice and caring because he knows Mrs. Jackson" I lied because I didn't want them to know about our attraction to each other yet until I am sure about it.

"Are sure Silver that you don't know him before now and you were not dating each other for a long time," Janet asks. I laughed.

"I am very sure."

During lunch, Lucien came to call me to lunch but I insisted that both Janet and Linda come with us, which he agreed to, he also invited Daniel.

I sat beside Lucien who places his hands on my hands or thighs at any opportunity he gets. I welcome it because, throughout the day, I was craving and missing his touch like I am addicted or something.

This instant and deep connection are messing with me because I think about him a lot. Janet and Linda were free more with Daniel, maybe because of his easy-going personality.

Although Daniel seems not like me at the beginning of lunch, even though the first time he met me, he was more friendly, I think he feels I am going to steal his best friend from him or something.

I stood to use the restroom but didn't notice someone was following me. I heard someone turn on the water. When coming out, my way was blocked by Freya.

"Hey! New girl, I am going to warn you just once and only once, and if you don't listen I am going to make sure you regret it.

And next time what I will do to you would be more painful than the last time. I want you to stay away from Lucien, he is mine and mine only, and I am not even willing to share him with any of his side chick like you.

Whether you like it or not I am going to marry him not you, our parents had already agreed on it, save yourself the heartbreak, because you are only a plaything to him."

After making her threat she walked away. Her threat did nothing to me but her declaration that she had been betrothed to Lucien is what had my surprise, and doubts.

Are the rumors after all, are Lucien and Freya secretly dating?

Is that why Daniel is not friendly to me like when we just met because I am with his cousin's fiancée?

God, I don't know what to believe, and I am not sure I want to know the truth, because if it is true, I know deep in my soul I will be very heartbroken.

After all, Lucien already owns my heart.

When I went back to the cafeteria I try to act like nothing is wrong but only Lucien did not buy it even after I claimed otherwise.

I avoided Lucien for the rest of the day like he has some deadly disease.

Immediately I got home, I received a knock on my door, it was Lucien that was knocking, even before offering you him in, he had already come in without invitation.

"What was wrong with you today, Silver, your mood changed when we're at the cafeteria after you visited the restroom. Did anybody do or say anything all during your time there?" Lucien asks worriedly as he comes in.

"Is there anything between you and Freya?"

"No there is nothing between us."

"Are you sure?" I asked with an eyebrow raised

"Did Freya say anything to you?"

"Yeah. She said I should stay away from you. That you are both betrothed to one another. Is it true or not?"

"It is true."
