8 Lucien

I was lying on Silver's bed with her, playing with her hair, I was thinking of how my twin, Nicole, and Silver don't get along they are both trying to avoid each other, I already talked to Nicole about being with Silver although she doesn't approve because I am betrothed to her best friend, Freya, but she said she will support me and stand by me against our father because he is bent on me marrying Freya, we were never on the good term because he always wants to control me and I refuse to be controlled by anyone.

It would be good if Nicole and Sliver became friends, Nicole and I are very close to each other and always have each other back since we were little.

"I really would like it if you and my sister get along because you are both important to me." I began trying to make Silver try to befriend Nicole.

"It's not like I don't want to get along with her, I do for your sake but it like she is avoiding me, I barely see her, even though I didn't like her at first, but I am willing to try but I don't think she likes me." Silver tells me.

"Nicole can be strong-headed and imposing on strangers but when you get to know her, you will love her, she is very nice and also a wonderful person. I told her about us, although she does not like it but will support us."

I tell Silver about my baby sister while smiling thinking of all that Nicole has done and risk all for me.

"Okay, okay I will try to talk to her but if she does something that gets on my nerves and that is it."

That's all Silver said before I felt the increase in her temperature and the sound of her body cracking.

''Silver! Silver!' I call desperately worried about what's happening to my angel.

She jumped away from bed away from me, she suddenly started tearing clothes like it was the cause of what is happening to her.

She shouldn't be able to tear the like that unless she is like what l am I, but I know it is not true before I would have smelled it the very first time I met her instead she smelt human but different.

I try to approach her but she growled like a caged animal warning a predator from coming close.

I froze because I didn't want to provoke her more. I was torn between wanting to go to her to comfort her and respecting her wishes.

I heard Martha whispering a spell before she slammed the door open and come in holding a cup of something, I sniffed, herbs.

"What the hell are you doing here Lucien?"

Martha asked but she didn't let me speak before she continues the spell she was previously whispering then she approached Silver slowly and made her drink the herbs, Silver didn't growl at her as she did to me, I wonder why, made it is the spell.

I wouldn't have allowed Martha near Silver if not for the fact I trust her and know she wouldn't do any harm to Silver at least not in my presence unless I will tear her off her shoulder.

And besides this is the second time something strange has happened to Silver and the first it was Martha I took Silver to but told her it was my family doctor I took her to but the truth is that Martha is the high priestess of the coven here in our town.

I knew what happened to Silver then and what is happening to her now is not natural, I can sniff magic and in a town full of magical beings with Freya at the tip of the list that wants to see Silver hurt, I can't trust My angel with just anyone.

The only thing keeping me sane right now is the thought of the people who are doing this to Silver dying at my hands. The last time was Freya's doing but I let go with just a warning, but this time heads will roll.

After Silver drank the herbs Martha gave her it seems to worsen because Silver screams got louder and she pushed Martha and she was impossibly strong that Martha flew across the room, but I caught her which I will not be able to do if not for my speed.

Silver started vomiting blood along with the herbs she just consumed and her body cracks more loudly, and it sounds agonizing like her bones are breaking into pieces. I can't stand the fact she is going through this.

"What is happening to her?" I asked Martha.

"Her body is going through the transition."

"Transition? What do you mean by transition? Her body is transiting into what? Do something!" I said my thought out loud.

"There is nothing I can do to help her, the herbs I gave her are the strongest, that I have been keeping for her, for years now, but her body is rejecting it, and that is something I have never seen before, she has to go through the transition."

For years, what doesn't Martha mean for years but Martha told me that the cause of the first incident is as a result of the spell that Freya did on her.

But now she is saying something different than she had expected something like this to happen to get for years now, but Silver just came to live with her last month. I will get to the bottom of that latter but for now, I need to do something to stop Silver's pain.

I march close to her despite Martha's warning and Silver's growl and hug her to my chest, her bones immediately stop cracking and she stopped screaming and her body temperature dropped.

I heard Martha's heart starts beating loudly then she exclaims.

"Oh my goodness!"

Silver hugs me tighter.

"Thank you, Lucien, you keep saving me like a damsel in distress and I am no damsel"

"I will keep saving you cause you are my damsel.
