2 She was really crazy!

"Sit Sit Sit." Laura gestured for them to sit and smiled sweetly. Though she looked kind wearing that smile, her face held a bit of mischief, and they could only curse themselves for walking under her radar!

Taking the box on the corner table, she abruptly poured everything down and threw the box aside.

"Your IDs, hospital cards, etc."

"Since it's your first day, I will assign the page works, general check-ups, and easy cases for you guys."

Taking the list from her pocket, she read through the names and declared, "The girls would be called ping and pong. The two boys will be attorned as yin and yang."

Looking at the guy who was also once her boyfriend, she scratched her head and faked a smile, "Hmm Dr. Liam, you will be addressed as a pupil!"

"Ping and Pong, would follow me for the routine checkups while the Yin and Yang would do the page works and you Mr. Pupil, will be assigned to ER 2(Emergency Room 2)."

"No way!" Theo commented walking inside. ER 2 was not a place first year residents would survive. Laura turned around and shrugged, "He is an ESSAY, needs a bit of training!"

"If it's clear, take your things and run around the hospital and map everything in your head. And right after 10 minutes from now, I will be wishing to see you all attending your respective tasks!"

Everyone nodded collecting their belongings scattered on the table as sweat already started to sway down their spines! Laura wasn't even giving them a minute to breathe! And, now they understood what being CRAZY really meant!

She turned to leave but rubbing her neck, turned back and smiled, "Did I lecture about the residency protocols here in BlueMoon?"

Everyone shook their heads and gesturing them to sit down, Laura started with a smile, "Let's print them in your firsts!

"No leaves, should be alive till the end of your residency and 24 hours of work a day. No fights, no requests, no commands or arguments with any of the staff if you don't wanna live a hell. Hmm, and I am sure you all are already good friends for now,"

The four nervously nodded and Laura smiled again, her smile completely fake and scary, "Good! By the end of the year, I will make sure for you to hate each other's existence!"

"Jealousy, credulity, hatred, and competition will increase your cortisol(stress hormone) levels. And don't worry, by the end of this year, you will be in the woods of depression! I promise to make these things right!" She ended making them pale out, and looking at Theo, she added, "He will address the remaining formality!"

"Any doubts?" She asked tightening her ponytail and everyone shook their days.

"And as your mentee, I will make sure you have a GOOD time! Don't worry about that!" She smiled looking at them, and they could only force back a smile.

The moment she did left the room, the four residents slumped back on their chairs in relief, taking a moment to breathe finely!

"And," She walked back and stood at the door, and the five immediately got up!

With the same sweet smile, she declared, "Page me only you have good news! And if you ping for nonsense stuff, I will make sure to never allow you inside the ORs(Operating Rooms)."

And the moment she disappeared in the corridor, everyone slumped back on their chairs and looked at Liam who, unlike them, was still calm after the storm.

"Crazy Bitch!" The girl nicknamed Ping grumbled and instantly slapped her mouth in dismay.

"And, the worst part guys," Theo placed his hands inside his white coat pockets and walked towards them, "She has mastered the art of swearing!"

Holding back his chuckle and looking at their pale faces, he gave a thumbs up, "So, good luck with her!"

Taking out a few files, he passed them to them and unlike her, he patiently explained to them everything about their residency. At least he was nice! They thought and were relieved for a bit.

"But, Doctor!" Pong looked at Liam and turning towards Theo, she curiously asked, "What does ESSAY mean? Dr. Luara mentioned it earlier!"

Placing both his hands on the table, Theo bent forward and whispered, "Egoistic, Stupid, Senseless And," Pressing his laughter, he continued, "Yuck!"

"Pffft, hahaha!" Maverick was the first to break out and others followed him except for Liam, the complete ESSAY!

He sat there with a grumpy face, huh good that she dumped him on their second date itself!

A few hours later.

Finishing her routine check-ups and also checking on the new residents on behalf of Zen, Laura didn't care to change her scrubs as she had just completed a tiring surgery, and walked to the cafeteria.

Filling her plate, Laura took a coffee can from the panel and sat on the empty seat near the window.

Enjoying her food, she scrolled through her texts and frowned as Ayra hadn't replied to any of her texts from the morning. Pressing 3 on her keypad, she speed dialed her number which forwarded to a voice mail.

"Strange." Laura thought and sipping her coffee, she dialed the landline of her cafe which didn't get connected even after three trials.

Her brows creased in tension as it was a rare case for Ayra to never pick up her calls. She tried to call again but there was no response at all. Unlike her, her best friend was a fragile being and now that she was under a lot of pressure because of her divorce, Laura couldn't help but panic.

But before she could text someone else to check on her, she saw a familiar girl rushing in her direction.

"Dr. Dr. Laura, patient, emer," Ping ran to her table and stuttered gasping for some air.

"Silly, why didn't you page me?" Laura mumbled, wiping her mouth and rushing toward the ER.

"You ordered to ping only if it is good,"

"For doctors, having emergency cases is the good news, stupid!" She cut her off, taking the stairs to the ground floor since all the lifts were completely busy.

And as they reached the ER, Laura sighed at the scene of Chaos. It was already flowing with injured patients, and there were many flowing in and amidst this, two more patients, severely injured were brought rushed inside.

"It's a criminal and a cop, both vitals are graving down while one is injured near the heart, the other has a rib fracture maybe." The ER surgeon immediately detailed what he received during the ambulance call, and with a quick nod, she walked toward the cop.

"Ping, go and call Dr. Kim from the cardiology department and ask the Chiefs of GS(General surgery) and CS(Cardiac surgery) to rush very soon." She ordered sanitizing her hands, and ping nodded running out of ER 1.

Checking the vitals of the cop, Laura thought for a moment and then turned towards the cops who were standing a bit far from the bed, "We need to do an immediate surgery! Please call for the family to sign the papers."

"His family lives in City B!" One of the cops still stained in blood answered making her sigh out loud.

"Then any close relative here?" Laura asked and the three shook their heads.

"I am the captain. I will take responsibility!" A guy who may be of the same age walked to them and declared, his guard still tight as he rushed towards them with his bleeding arm.

All the ladies around, took a brief moment to admire his handsome face while Laura felt her heart stop beating for a brief moment.

Wasn't he in the army? When did he transform himself into a cop? Laura thought, her eyes staring at him while he looked at her, with the same broken expression!
