2 Erick a week ago

I walked down the stairs with Max behind me as he walked into the living room. Max went over to Samuel wagging his tail side to side as Samuel pat's his head.

Samuel asked "Is Emma asleep?"

Exhausted I sigh " Took an hour but she finally slept" I said.

I sat down on the sofa leaning my head back closing my eyes Samuel looked up and walked over to the bar and poured a glass of sweet tea as he took a sip of his tea he sits on the bar stool he then pulls out today newspaper an reads a article about Lemaitre niece moving from France to be with her father who just got remarried. He then paused and turned and looked at Me.

" you should get some rest" Samuel advised

For a moment it was quite as I watched the ceiling fan cold air spread throughout the living room I grow depressed as my eyes cast a expression of mope I close them " what if I have that dream of kylie again" it was as if my heart was being stabbed by thrones as I set back up I looked at the built in-clock. Inside the TV stand it read 9:39 pm running my hands through my hair as I gazed upon my feet.

"I- " I try to explain but was cut off by Samuel

"Look, Erick, I understand that you're worried about kylie but you need to get some sleep your mother has been very worried about your health seeing you stressed these days and haven't been sleeping either, if you can't rest for your on sake let's try for your mother and kylie have a little faith that everything gonna be okay" He implored.

I paused as I thought about what Samuel said I knew that Samuel was right. I sighed and rubbed my hair with one hand as I got up and walked towards the stairs.

" I've been waiting for a call from Nickels and Mom about Kylie's condition, wake me up if something importing happens " I explained. "OK " Samuel said.

He then turned back to continue his reading as I made my way up the stairs into the dark hallway. I passed first two rooms as I made my way towards my room which was the last room at the end of the hall opening the door I walked in shutting the door behind me. The room was dark, the window was open, I could hear the pouring rain and feel the cool breeze fill my room which was untidy and unorganized I look out of one of the windows seeing the for sale in the front lawn of the house just across the street which Kylie and her family used to stay. I then walked towards my bed, sat down then laid back putting my arm against my forehead "I should stay awake what if he misses the call" I thought I turned my head to look at the clock on the dresses as I fell asleep to the sound of ticking. Samuel bragged into my room waking me up.

"what's wrong?" I said feeling worried.

"What if something happened to Kylie? What if Kylie died? How do I break the news to Emma" I thought as my heart starts to pound.

"It's Kylie," Samuel muttered with a tearful frightened look on his face.

"She's been getting pretty sick these days and the doctor gave her at least a month or two to live. Your mother booked a flat. For us we need to hurry and pack. Your mother will be waiting for us to land tomorrow at the airport. Also you must call Isabelle to come in get Emma, you don't want her to see Kylie like that Kylie just wouldn't be able to stead it if we take Emma with us after all Emma wouldn't be able to handle some like this" Samuel said.

"ok" I said. As my voice slowly became brittle as I tried my hardest not to cry or show what I was feeling, I got up and walked towards the window, the rain still pouring. I look once again at the for sale sign.

" I need a moment to myself, please" I said in a composed voice.

"Ok," Samuel said.

As he shut the door behind him biting my bottom lip and exactly what I was afraid of happened "please be ok Kylie, please be ok Kylie" I thought. As I pull out my phone in call Isabella "Isabella is unable to come to the phone please leave a message at the beep…." hanging up the phone I tried again hoping this time she'll pick up.

" Hello, Erick is this you what's wrong is it about Kylie" Isabella said

"I just got news that Kylie doesn't have that much time left to live my mother just booked me and Samuel a felt an I can't take Emma can you watch her for me" I ask

"I'm so sorry to hear that I can watch Emma for you in fact I'll get ready to pick her up just make sure she has her stuff pack bye the time I get there" Isabella said

"Yeah I can do that and thanks for doing this for us" I said

"I am here for you no matter what happens" Isabella said

Hanging up the phone in splitting it back into my pocket I started to pick my things when I heard the sound of my door opening. I look behind me to see Emma holding her unicorn peeking at me from behind the door. I stopped packing and looked at her, putting on the best fake smile I could possibly master to assure Emma that Everything was fine.

" Hey, peanut what's with that sad look " I asked.

" I'm not a peanut I'm a princess" she said as she walks further into the room hugging her unicorn in her pink princess pajamas as she continued to speak " in I had a bad dream"

I sigh as I fold my arms then say " you had a bad dream?"

Emma then scratch near her nose as she said " yes"

I then give her the I know you're lying look. Emma than pouts and said " I lied as she rubs her nose but-"

she looks at the suitcase that's half packed then back at me she then says " are you going somewhere you have to take me to".

" Emma you can't come" I implored.

"Why can't I come! It's not fair I want to come to" Emma pouts again . She then runs towards me and gives me a hug lifting her head up to look at me as she purker her bottom lip and gives me the puppy eyes. As she says " pleases.."

I then also give her the puppy eyes and said " No"

Emma then clicked her tongue at me with disappointment that I didn't fall for it. She then sits on my bed still holding on to the. unicorn and asks " is...is it….about kylie? Is she sick?"

I sit next to Emma as she rests her chin on top of her unicorns head as she cuddles it. I can't lie because she already knows.

"Kylie hasn't be feeling well as of lately" I said

with a long face Emma ask " Erick is kylie going to die"

Sorrow and worry filled my face although I tried my hardest to not show it as I wrapped my arm around her.

"Kylie is going to be fine after all she has all of us, her parents, and really good doctors helping her. There's no way she won't get a better peanut" I said.

Emma turns to look at me "really?"

As I unwrap my arm and said "really " as I tousle her hair Emma hops off the bed as she tries to fix her hair dropping the unicorn on the floor "urghh- you messed up my hair"

"Relax peanut it not like it permanently messed up Anyway Isabella agreed to babysit you while me and Samuel gone you'll be staying with her" I said

Emma looks up from fixing her hair after grabbing her unicorn of the floor to hug it "just into me and Samuel get back" I said

"Ok" Emma said.

" She'll be here soon so get your things" I said. Emma rushed out of my room leaving the door wide open. She must have been pretty excited to hear that Isabella is going to babysit her. I returned to packing the rest of my stuff I then grab my suitcase and backpack already packed with some of my things in left my room shutting the door behind me as came to a stop in front Emma room her door was wide open I watch as she tried to stuff her backpack with stuffed animals right next to already packed suitcase. Samuel made his way up the stairs and came to a stop at Emma room. He laughed at Emma still struggling to fit the stuffed animals into her backpack walking into the room he squats down next to Emma to help her decide what stuff animals to bring with her. I turn to look at Max who was now sitting beside me wagging his tail with his tongue hang out his mouth when the doorbell ring

" I'll go answer the door," I said to Samuel who was now holding a small brown teddy bear with a red bowtie.

" Alrighty just a minute will be down there and Emma will be ready to go" Samuel said.

"Come on boy" I said as I went down the stairs max follows as I walk through the living when get to the front door Max hops on to the sofa and leaned down I put my suitcase next to the plant near the door as I open the door Max starts to break the moment he sees Isabella who is standing on the porch her truck park on the side of the road next the tree in are front yard.

It looks like she has been crying for a while as I look at her now red red eyes. She must've taken the earlier conversion pretty hard seeing that Isabella and Kylie were good friends even though they weren't close enough to each other all their secrets. Putting down her umbrella I let her in as she put her umbrella in the rack with all the other Max hops off the sofa and walked over to the kitchen where he starts to eat from his dog blow. Leaving me and the living room with Isabella who was now playing with her hair.

" Emma will be down shortly" I said

" Alright, Erick I-" Isabella said. As she got cut off as Emma came down stairs with her backpack on and her suitcase as she embraced Isabella.

" I hope I didn't keep waiting to long" Emma says

"No it wasn't that long of a wait, oh Erick I'll take Max with me sunny sick and won't be able to watch Max at the moment" Isabella said.

"Ok hope the old men feel well soon and make sure you don't give Emma too much sweets before bed. You'll have a hard time putting her to sleep,'' Erick said.

"I'll be share to remember that come on Max" Isabella says as Max comes into the living and sits next to Isabella who is now putting a leash on the Max collar while Emma grabs both hers and Isabella umbrella to hand it to as I open the door in Emma run outside towards Isabella truck while holding Max leash as then get in side the car as Isabella leaves

"Wait what was it that were trying tell me early" I asks

She turns stare at me for a while as if she was thinking about rather to tell me or not she then turns back around with smile on her face as she open her umbrella walked off towards her truck

"It was nothing that important," Isabella said.

Samuel comes into the living room with things " ready to go" Samuel said.

Grabbing my things I say " yah, I'm ready".
