29 A profound slap

"Welcome to Simply Café," Lily welcomed the customer. A small frown appeared on her face when she noticed that one of the men was carrying a helmet. However, the frown disappeared the moment her eyes feast on the beautiful faces the two men possessed.

'Holy!' her heart skipped a beat and the playboy side of her triggered. 

"Hi gorgeous, a table for two please," one of the men uttered with a wink. The other man smiled as his hand casually pushed the bridge of his eyeglasses. His manner was poised and controlled. Lily was mesmerized. She was only awakened when the first men called upon her.

"Please, this way!" Lily ushered the two to sit on a table not far from little pumpkin who was looking at his big sister from afar.

"May I have your order, please?" Lily tried to remain professional. However, she almost drooled when the two men smiled at her as they took the menu from her hand.

"Miss Lily?" one of the men asked as if to confirm her name. His eyes were looking at the nameplate on her waitress uniform.

"Yes, I am," Lily was excited when she heard her name being called. Damn, even his voice sounded handsome!

"May I know-" the man was about to speak something when suddenly there was a loud voice shouting in anger. The man stopped talking and leaned forward to listen to what the voice was speaking about.

"You're not qualified to be a manager!"

"Huh?" the man whose speech was interrupted craned his neck towards the voice's direction. He was curious as to whom this rude voice was directed to.

"Shit!" Lily unconsciously cursed, shocking the two men, who were now staring at her in bewilderment. "Sorry," she quickly apologized. 

The man was about to speak again when another voice echoed in the cafe. He frowned but decided to listen, curious as to how this soft-spoken individual would response.

"What do you mean?" the voice was spoken in a calm manner, not taunted by the other's mockery. 

"Sir…" Lily was about to excuse herself knowing that Carla and Bella Lim's situation would turn worse at any moment. However, the men stopped her from walking.

Lily wanted to ask why they stopped her, but soon noticed that the two good-looking men were looking at the direction where the fight was taking place. Their expression became thoughtful as if the fight had something to do with them.

Then, their eyes flickered in realization, both tried to see who was talking. Soon, a disappointment flashed on their eyes as their effort went to waste. They could only see a woman with her lips smirked. The dark brown lipstick she wore made her look like a madwoman.

Meanwhile, Bella Lim finally remembered the story told by Lily. Seeing Carla showing off her immaturity, she began to think if she had been hiding her personality in the past. And maybe, this was the future of her past. Such a complicated thought made Bella Lim frown. 

Carla saw the frown on Bella's face and thought that she was mocking her. 

"What did I mean? Tch, don't you see it yourself? You have no educational background. What makes you think you're suitable for the position? Even your look is so-so, did you serve yourself to my cousin?" insult after insult left Carla's lips. Right now, she really didn't care if customers were to complain. In fact, she was happy to taint Bella Lim's image in front of everyone.

"Carla, please respect our customers. And- I don't have much patience to deal with you right now," Bella Lim felt her heart shaking, the throb in her head was now gone. She knew her limit had reached its end. Another pushed, and her patient would fall off the cliff. Therefore, she tried to reason with Carla before everything went out of control. She also thought of leaving, but the woman's tall figure blocked the only path she could take.

"Shit, this hag is going overboard!" Lily was about to walk over when the two men suddenly rose from their seats. She thought they were about to leave the café. Her heart conflicted whether to run to Bella Lim's side or to persuade these fine gentlemen to stay. However, when she heard their conversation, her eyes widened in shock!

"Sun Nan, isn't that Bella's voice?"

"Yes, that's her. Fuck, who's the bitch!" 

"Shh, don't make a ruckus. Bella's voice sounded calm. Let her handle this,"

"Lu Fei, if she's hurt, I'll make sure the other experience hell!" 

Sun Nan and Lu Fei? Lily frowned after knowing their names. She thought the names were familiar. Where did she hear these names? And… what was their relationship with Bella? Curiosity encouraged Lily to investigate more, but Carla's grating voice reached her ears, making her furious.

"Hahaha! Who are you to advise me? What qualifications do you have?"

"You only have that witch face of yours. Admit it, you must have seduced my cousin for the position right?"

Sigh.

Bella Lim exhaled, trying to calm her erratic mind. For the sake of the café, she cannot allow Carla to make more ruckus. This woman was a lunatic.

"Carla, you're delusional, rude, disrespectful and immature. You're not suited to work in a cafe that promotes a peaceful atmosphere. Therefore..." Bella Lim's clear, blue eyes stared at the woman in front of her. Her gaze was unsettlingly calm, creating waves of uncertainty to those who met her eyes.

She knew things had gotten worse. Unpleasant whispers were going around in the cafe and some cutomers decided to leave. She reckoned these people wouldn't come anymore. To prevent losing more customers, there was only one thing that she could do by using her power as the manager.

"Carla, you're fired!" in an orotund voice, she declared. Then, she stepped forward and took the nameplate with Simply Café's logo on Carla's chest. Next, she pulled the woman's hand towards the door, pulled it open, and pushed Carla's body outside. After, she slammed the door and asked Daniel to stand guard.

"Dear customers, sorry for the commotion. As compensation, there'll be 10 percent discount effective to all items in today's menu," she declared. Then, she put on her casual face and stood at the coffee bars, ready to serve people.

Lily and everyone who was watching was shocked at the surprising outcome. No one was expecting Bella to retaliate, especially the workers at Simply Café who had witnessed Carla's successful bullying before. They thought the fight would end in Carla's favor. In the end, their assumption was returned in the form of a profound slap.

Just now, they have witnessed how Carla struggled to shake off Bella Lim's hand, alas, it was all for nothing. She had easily chased her out of the premise, declaring her authority.

Her method was simple yet ruthless! Even if Jordan Lee, the owner of the café was to blame her, he couldn't because everyone knows that Bella Lim did it for the sake of Simply Café's reputation. If it wasn't because of that, then why did she declare a 10 percent discount? Obviously, to appease the eyes and ears of the customers!

"Fuck, she's too awesome!"

"I told you, she could handle it,"

"Damn! I hate it when you predict correctly,"

"I didn't predict. It's called confident,"

"Yeah, whatever,"

Lily was still standing near Sun Nan and Lu Fei's table, therefore, she could hear every word loud and clear. A smile appeared on her face after listening to their funny exchanged.

"Cough… gentlemen, what would you like to order?" she asked, returning to her earlier flirting style.

"One Bella please!" Sun Nan rose his hand, grinning widely.

"Bella, Bella!" he waved, calling her name again and again for the sake of attention.

Lily was speechless. Lu Fei gobsmacked.
