13 Disciple Trials

Bai Hei sighed as he sat on the bed. Piggy and Zhao Feiyan were just silently cultivating.

Bai Hei wanted to loot the whole of the Hundred Items Emporium, but when he walked in, he realised that there were too many people. In a few months or so, the disciple trials for the five main sects would take place too.

At that time, Bai Hei could easily loot the whole emporium and leave without getting caught. He had also thought of going inside, looting it all and then leaving, all with the time stopped, but he realised that would most likely cause the disciple trials to delay and the town to be locked down.

That was just way too much trouble!

It's also why he decided to only rob the people in the emporium and nothing else. Of course, it was still a huge haul for Bai Hei.

He had many different resources, Martial Skills, cultivation manuals, etc.

Most of them weren't of use to the current him though. Due to him only robbing the people of the higher floors, the resources were for higher-levelled cultivators. Too much for a person with no cultivation at all, like himself.

In addition, the manuals and Martial Skills weren't of much interest to him either. After all, his only Martial Skill was the Chaos Ray. Most other low-levelled Martial Skills didn't interest him.

Bai Hei looked at the two people cultivating behind him, seemingly lost in thought.

A few minutes later, his eyes flickered as he thought to himself, 'I'll just cultivate my Chaos Ray for now!'

He opened the door as he told the servants to clean the room if need be, but to not disturb him otherwise.

He sat back onto the bed and began comprehending the Chaos Ray.

...

Soon, three and a half months had passed....

Bai Hei looked to the right and left of him, and saw Piggy and Zhao Feiyan were still cultivating silently. He decided to not disturb them and went outside to get a change of clothes, a shower, and all the other necessities.

Currently, there was only three hours left till the disciple trials. Bai Hei guessed that the judges for the five main sects had already arrived yesterday or a few days ago.

Two hours later, he had finally finished all the necessities, and looked out of the window to see the bustling crowds of the city.

Bai Hei was clad in a pure white robe that emphasised his muscular figure and gave off an air of elegance and pride.

On the side of his cloth-belt, Bai Hei had sheathed his Dual Chaotic Dark Daggers so he could use them on a moment's notice. He doubted that he would need to use them at all anyway, but it was just in case.

His white hair looked even more silky in the bright rays of the sun and his black eyes shone like diamonds. Bai Hei was truly a peerless beau- peerlessly handsome man!

Once he matured, he would be even more handsome than he currently was. Right now, Bai Hei could easily seduce any woman! Not that he needed to, after all, they would all be seducing him!

He shoved on a mask so he could conceal his looks and then made his way outside, and as soon as he did step outside, he was overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed by the sheer emptiness of the street! He was looking through the window earlier, but he only gave the people on the streets a glance. There was many, many people when he looked, but now the street was completely barren and isolated!

'Did the judges make their appearance so everyone rushed to the edge of the city?' Bai Hei wondered.

It was common knowledge that the trials would begin on the edge of the city on specially made arenas!

Bai Hei had one hour left so he decided to wait for some time. He could go now but he felt that it was a waste of time.

'Ai... If only I could speed up time too..'

...

For nearly an hour, Bai Hei loafed around. He had walked through the hallways countless times and made small talk with the servants too.

Currently, there was only a short amount of time left till the trials began.

Bai Hei made his signature exit by jumping out of the window. At his top speed, he zoomed towards the edge of the city.

Around the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, he had made it!

In his view, there were countless people, thousands and thousands! A huge area had been cleared out around the arena and stands had been placed so the crowd could watch comfortably.

The participants were over a thousand too! But most likely, some of them had no cultivation at all anyway. Some of them were short, some of them were tall; some of them were male, some of them were female; some of them were ugly, some of them were attractive; there was lots of variety in the participants! However, all of them were, without exception, under the age of twenty-five!

No one was stupid enough to offend the five main sects by trying to sneak into the trials if they were older than twenty five!

There were six seats next to the arenas too, the space around them was completely empty. On the seats sat six people, emitting different types of auras.

The seat on the left was taken by a handsome young man with a calming feel. He seemed to be a person of kindness, by looking into his deep, blue eyes, one would feel calm but also lustful in an instant! It was most likely the work of a Martial Skill or cultivation manual! This was the Patriarch of the Blossoming Peach Sect!

The one next to him, was a beautiful woman with a curvy body. She gave off some sort of devilish charm, and had a fragrance that seduced those near her. This was the Matriarch of the Blossoming Peach Sect!

The one on her right was a middle-aged man whose aura pierced outwards like a sharp spear! He seemed to have a dominance and pride that was ingrained in his bones! This was the Patriarch of the Dominating Spear Sect!

The one next to him, and in the middle of the five seats, was a feeble old man who looked like he was around eighty years old! He was nearly skin and bones and didn't have much of an aura. He seemed to be humble and quiet. This was the Patriarch of the Fighting Martial Sect!

The one next to him was a young woman with a ruthless aura. She was quite a beauty, but her aura and sharp demeanour seemed to make people fearful. This was the Matriarch of the Flying Saber Sect!

The one on the far right, was a middle-aged man. He seemed to have a prideful aura that spread out in each direction, as if saying to the world, 'look at me, look at how powerful I am!' This was the Patriarch of the Slashing Sword Sect!

These five people, were the judges for the trials! Bai Hei listened to the crowd's conversations and his eyes shot open wide,

"Look, look! These are the Patriarchs and Matriarchs of the five mains sects!"

"What?! They're the judges this year?!"

"I heard that there would be many geniuses this time! It really is a year for geniuses! Ai... If I was participating though, I would easily win..."

"Are you stupid?! Fang Ming is participating! And so is Chang Qing! And there are many others too!"

"Yeah, the number one geniu..."

"..."

Conversations like these were everywhere in the crowd. Usually, the judges of the trials were only an elder from each sect, but this time, it was actually the biggest figures! The Patriarchs and Matriarchs!

In their whole lives, most people weren't able to even see these legendary figures! This is why the surprise, shock and exclaims of the crowd were understandable.

One of the judges, the Patriarch of the Slashing Sword Sect got up as he boomed with a loud arrogant voice, filled with disdain,

"Shut up! The start of the trials will now begin!"

The crowd instantly quietened down into silence and Bai Hei just watched in annoyance. This guy's voice was filled to the brim with arrogance and pride, and disdain towards the crowd as if they were lower beings.

Bai Hei didn't really care too much though since he wasn't really part of the crowd, but was part of the participants.

The Sword Patriarch carried on talking with his still-prideful voice,

"All participants will touch this stone to determine their cultivation and bone age!"

Everyone already knew that one must have a first-layer Body Tempering cultivation and they must be twenty-five years or younger.

Bai Hei's face twisted at this. He didn't know this! His cultivation was currently nothing!

A few people in the participants section had red faces and hurriedly scurried off towards the crowd. They seemed to have tried to sneak into the participants section so they could try to join the sect. They thought that nobody would know their age, so there was no chance of offending the five main sects.

But it seemed they were busted!

Bai Hei looked on in amusement but was also quite worried about his own problem. There were a good twenty or more people who had tried to sneak in!

Bai Hei paused time and then sat down cross-legged and began to cultivate quickly, absorbing the energy surrounding him. After he had reached the first-layer Body Tempering Realm, it had been only a few minutes! He resumed time.

Once again, the Sword Patriarch carried on shouting,

"You, come forward, test your age and cultivation!"

The boy who was pointed to, nervously walked up to the glowing pearl-like stone that was on top of the middle of the altar.
