1 Buying a lover [1]

"Him. I choose him to be my lover," Jung Chaerin said, pointing at one particular man.

The man had his caramel coloured hair styled neatly and was dressed casually. His stature was longer than that of an average man. Nonetheless, that added on to his attractive features.

The gentle smile on his face, coupled with his black eyes, had the ability to capture the attention of others and draw them in.

His white shirt displayed his collarbones slightly, giving him a seductive appearance. Added in the elegant aura around him, he truly appeared to be a man wanted by many.

In all aspects, Jung Chaerin found him to be the ideal man, and her gaze on him was determined as if she had firmly decided on him.

TWO DAYS AGO

"Good morning, CEO Jung!" everyone greeted as they bowed.

A woman, holding her head high, walked towards the office. An air of elegance was let out by her as she confidently strode towards her office. Each of her steps managed to intimidate the staffs around her.

Everyone around her raised their heads, staring at her with a hint of admiration and slight fear in their eyes.

A nonchalant expression covered upon her face as she swiped her finger across the screen. Her dark eyes reflected the content on the screen as her red lips were pursed together. Her neatly trimmed nails were upon the screen.

A man in his early thirties, dressed in a navy blue suit, followed after her, and a slight smile was sitting upon his face. His bubbly and cheerful countenance managed to lighten up the air around the CEO considerably.

As the woman stood in front of the glass door, the man behind her inserted his fingerprint into the scanner, and the door before her opened instantly.

As the woman and the man stepped in, thehe door behind them closed automatically. The woman moved closer to the desk and sat on the chair behind it.

"Schedule?" Jung Chaerin questioned.

Her eyes were concentrated on her tablet as her secretary, Kang Minseok, bowed and spoke out, "CEO Jung, Chairman Jung ordered to clear your schedule for the afternoon. You have to attend a family lunch."

Hearing those words caused Chaerin to raise her head, and staring at Minseok sternly, she slammed her hand on top of the desk, creating a loud noise.

"Kang Minseok, who is your boss?" she questioned— her eyes glaring at him.

"Chairman Jung promised to increase my bonus for this month, and he said that I am allowed to kidnap you if you don't agree," Minseok said, "He will be protecting me from you."

Kang Minseok flashed her a wide smile.

"Take that smile off of your face; that's an eyesore," she spoke out.

"That's the only way I can maintain a proper mental health— by flawlessly smiling. My psychologist recommended it," he retorted, curving his lips further upwards.

Jung Chaerin let out a sigh and voiced out, "Since you are that eager to have me attend this family luncheon, make sure to work overtime in order to make up for all the schedule you cleared. You're getting paid extra, right?"

A frown formed on Jung Minseok's face while he bowed at her and said, "Yes, I will take care of that, CEO Jung."

°°°

A black car stopped inside a parking lot, and seated inside that car was Jung Chaerin. Her dark eyes were concentrated on the screen of her tablet while she carried on a conversation with the people displayed on the screen.

"President Andrew, with that settled, let's have a successful cooperation in the future. I am looking forward to it," Chaerin vocalised fluently in English.

The door beside her was then pulled open, and Kang Minseok bowed while wearing a smile on her face.

After finishing her conversation with the foreigner on the other side of the phone, Chaerin hung up the call, and placing her tablet at Minseok's hand, she got off from the car.

Placing her foot on top of the ground, she walked gracefully and confidently towards the venue while Minseok closed the door behind her.

Then, following after her, he stated, "CEO Jung, Director Shin Taehyun and Han Jaemin wants to see you tomorrow."

"What does those sly foxes want now? This is exactly like one trouble on top of another," Chaerin mumbled.

"It is most likely regarding your brother, CEO Jung," Minseok answered.

"I have figured that part out by now," Chaerin said, "Did anything new happen?"

"This could be related to the new scandal Vice President Kang got into, CEO Jung. I guess you haven't heard about it?"

"Oppa got into a new scandal?" Chaerin questioned, turning her head to face Minseok. Confusion was shown on her face.

Before Minseok was able to answer, a loud voice enunciated, "Both of you are not discussing about business now, right?"

Jung Chaerin instantly whipped her head towards the direction of the voice, and her gaze turned cold and distant as if she had put a barrier around her subconsciously.

On the main seat of the long table, an old man, dressed in a suit, was seated, and as his hand held on to a glass of red wine, a joyful expression sat on his face.

Other than him, two women and two men were seated at their respective places, and all of them had their eyes on her.

"Chairman Jung, President Jung, Vice President Jung, Director Han, Yoona," Chaerin voiced out, bowing at all of the people present at the scene respectively.

She politely then added, "It's pleasant seeing you after such a long time, and I apologise for being late."

"Chaerin-ah, skip all the formalities, and come here," Han Shinhye— her mother— said with a gentle smile on her face.

Jung Chaerin nodded, maintaining on the impassive countenance, and walked over to the empty chair. Following after her, Kang Minseok pulled the chair for her.

Before she was able to sit down, Jung Jinyoung— her grandfather— exclaimed, "Stop! You brat, do you think that you have the right to sit at here!?"

"Father, don't say that," Jung Hyunmin— her father— spoke out while creases between both of his eyebrows.

Looking at Jinyoung, Chaerin nonchalantly expressed, "If that's what you think, Chairman Jung, then I don't have any right. Is there anything you needed me here for?"

"Chaerin, don't mind Grandpa's words. He is merely sulking that you did not visit him for long. That's all. Just sit down," Jung Yejoon— her elder brother— stated in a cheerful tone.

"It is alright, Vice President Jung. If Chairman Jung has a problem with it, I would not be sitting down."

"You brat, you have to always make me look bad by using such words! Sit down! You are really impossible to deal with!" Chairman Jung shouted while an annoyed sigh left his mouth.

"I will be doing that then," Chaerin replied before sitting down on her place.

Kang Minseok walked back after placing his palm on Chaerin's shoulder for a second. Jung Chaerin's eyes fell on the steak served before her with disinterest.

"Chaerin Unnie, do you have to ruin the atmosphere around here everything by acting so haughtily? Everyone was having fun until you showed up! From next time, don't come here if—"

"Jung Yoona!" Hyunmin exclaimed warningly— his eyes staring at Yoona sternly.

Jung Yoona scoffed at that and looked down upon her meal. Picking up her fork, she placed a piece of the meat inside her mouth.

The twenty four year old had her annoyance mirrored distinctly upon her features while her grip on the fork tightened.

From the similarities in their features, one could identify them as sisters, but the impression they gave off was completely different. While Chaerin was closed off, Yoona was easier to approach.

There were no change of expression in Chaerin's eyes. She stared straight at Yoona impassively as if her words did not matter to her.

"Why are yelling at Yoona? There is nothing wrong with what she said. Chaerin is too cold! You need to laugh or else get out of here!" Jung Jinyoung exclaimed.

"If that's all, then I will be taking my leave. I need to check the new products," she said, "I am really busy, so I hope you can understand, Chairman Jung."

"See, Grandpa, I told you that you are calling her here for no reason. Unnie treats us like something bothersome to her. Chaerin Unnie, is it right for you to put on such an air after all that had happened?" Yoona said— her voice displaying anger.

Jung Chaerin's hand gripped tightly on to the material of her skirt while her eyes stared straight at Yoona; there were no ripples at the surface. However, beyond that surface, it was a different story.

"Yoona, concentrate on eating," Shinhye stated, "Don't make unnecessary comments."

"Jung Chaerin, you are merely a CEO of a subsidiary yet you act as if you're busier than us! Does that make sense?" Jinyoung vocalised.

"Chairman Jung, you know my schedule very well," Chaerin replied, taking a sip out of the red wine.
