Mischief

Amir ran through the alleyways of the city running from the police with a large bag full of goodies. He had made another successful heist stealing clothes, food, and some electronics this time. Amir knew his city the best, and was able to lose the cops in any kind of chase.

He could hear whistling down below from the cops calling the dogs as he scaled a building's fire escape to make it to the top. Once he was up there he would run across and fall down into a trash can in an alleyway far from where the cops were searching losing them and completing the heist.

Amir made it to the top and with a smile on his face, stuck his tongue out to the cop who turned the corner into his alley. He started hopping from one building to another until something stopped him in his tracts.

'Who is that..' thought Amir as he stared at a girl standing on the edge of the building he was standing on.

The girl with dark black hair and piercing red eyes looked back at Amir with tears filling her eyes. Amir was immediately captivated by her and almost forgot he was running from the cops.

"Hey! My names Amir. I'm currently running from the cops!" Amir yelled as he set down the bag. He understood the kind of situation he was in.

"What's your name?" he asked as he stepped closer to the girl. She took a step back shakily but was met with a large gust of wind that pushed her forward over the edge. Amir jumped forward and with his left arm he grabbed the girl's hand. He slipped over the edge and used his other arm to hold onto the building's edge.

The girl screamed as Amir grunted with pain filling his entire body from the sudden tense situation he was put in. He felt his right arm nearly dislocate and his grip slowly started slipping.

"Don't let go" Amir said, "I'll get you back up." He started pulling her up with his left arm while simultaneously turning his body slightly to gain a better grip on the building.

One thing Amir was certain of was his skill in climbing these buildings. He had taken a liking in passing the time by practicing his skills in climbing on the broken fire escapes and missing bricks. He knew that he could pull this girl and himself up, but all he needed was a little bit of time.

He kept pulling her up, but pain just kept shooting through his body. His vision started to blur. He started to blink away the tears forming in his eyes. He yelled out in pain and anger.

He felt his grip with both the building and the girl slipping. He yelled out even more. He took a deep breath and used the remaining strength in his arms to pull the girl up enough for her to grab onto Amir's waist.

He had managed to get the girl up to his waist where he told her to hold on to him. She held on and with a final yell from Amir, he was able to pull both of them back up onto the building.

Both Amir and the girl laid on the ground panting. Amir looked over and saw the girl start crying.

"I almost killed you!" she cried out. "Why would you save me if it almost killed you!?"

"Because you didn't get to tell me your name" he panted with a toothy grin on his face.

This is a short chapter because I wanted to get started on the next chapters quickly which will be much longer hopefully. For whoever reads this, if anybody, lemme know how it is :)
