2 Day 1 Part 1

~DAY 1 Part 1~

After reaching the end of the cave, he sat down on the bench carved out of the stone from the cave while huffing and puffing. The thing he experienced not long ago spooked him so much that he didn't dare to even lift his head.

"That… what the hell is that? That deer… that's a deer, right? Then why did it have two heads and a snake for a tail? Don't tell me it's a legendary chimera! And what's wrong with that bad… isn't it a little too big for an eagle? I know I don't know everything about the world. Even so, such a large creature was impossible to exist!! What the hell is going on?" Zhenyang fell into a panic. He was just an average fast food shop owner. After serving his last customer for the day, he was just returning home. Never in his wildest dreams had he expected to get tangled in something that didn't have any relation to reality he knew of.

By now, he had already regained enough stamina, so he stopped huffing and puffing. Then his eyes moved into the books arranged neatly on the desk made out of the carved rock. Maybe I can find something from them- thinking this, he grabbed the first book with trembling hands and opened them. What greeted him was strange characters that looked like some kind of runes he often saw on fantasy-based movies.

"It's no use… I can't understand this language at all! What the hell is happening? Can someone tell me whats' happening to me? Have I gone mad and now hallucinating?" Zhenyang felt like pulling the hair on his head, it was so frustrating. One, he was afraid of even going out of this place, and two, he wasn't even sure where he was.

"Ah! Don't tell me, I am in another world?" now that his rationale self failed to comprehend the situation, his otaku self made itself known. And like all otaku, the first conclusion he came up with was that he was in another world.

"No, wait! Now that I think about it… that floating purple orb, then that tunnel of seven colors and then finding myself in this strange land with bizarre overgrown creatures… no matter how outlandish it may sound, I can't dismiss the notion of this being another world." Zhenyang shook his head, knowing this is another world would change nothing for him, he was still trapped in this cave unless he somehow shook off that huge bird of prey. Zhenyang just stared at the end of the cave, a chill ran down his spine as he remembered that bird descending and grabbing the deer like it was a small fish.

"Besides, what is this place? There seem to someone living here. I think if I wait long enough, that person might appear, and I can get a clear understanding of my situation." Then he looked up to the shining crystal hanging in the ceiling, feeling a bit curious, he squinted his eyes and found it wasn't a LED lamp. Rather a rhombic gem-like contraption emitting light from its own. The gem was hung with the help of a steel chain from the ceiling, providing enough light to the table. Although it wasn't enough to illuminate the whole cave, the table itself looks as bright as day outside.

"That's definitely not an LED light, then… if I go with my other world theory, it might be a magic crystal used to illuminate light. How convenient!" after that, he moved his head and stared at the table, there he found writing quill, ink, and a lot of books and papers with scribbles on them. Unfortunately, he couldn't read any of them. Feeling that it was a waster, he began pondering his situation. Suddenly a random thought interrupted him, "wait for a second! If this is another world… then what kind of world this is? In those animes and games, the MCs transfer into sword and magic world, which ranges from easy to difficult in difficulty. But in Chinese Otherworld novels, most of the time, the MCs transfer into the world with cultivation as its backbone!!"

Then he gulped loudly as a lump formed in his throat.

"By any chance, if this world is a cultivation world… I will be fucked!!" Zhenyang shook his head while resisting the urge to roll on the ground, "Cultivation Otherworld starts with hell mode difficulty no matter how you look at it. Ahh!! Strength… demons… monsters… shitty young masters, beautiful girls who are nothing but a lump of problems with beautiful skin… ahh!! Just by thinking about it makes my mind hurt."

At that time, another thought entered his mind. He hastily looked down and saw he was still wearing his denim jeans and a white T-shirt with a girl's image on it. Rubbing his face, he still felt tiny stubble on his cheek, "Thank god I still have my clothes and face, a situation like reborn as some trashy young master with crippled cultivation and a troublesome background didn't happen, sigh! Thank god nothing like that happened."

After that, he leaned back, hitting his back on the plane stone wall behind him, he closed his eyes and started to think about everything he experienced in this short few minutes. He wasn't a fool enough to run outside and attempt to run away; for one, he didn't know what this place was. Second, if creatures like that deer and the bird of prey exist in abundance, he would be simply throwing his life away. For now, his only option was to wait for the aster of this cave to return, only then would things be clarified for him.

And thus, his waiting began… until his stomach rumbled.

"Dammit! I haven't eaten anything from noon, and now I am feeling famished. Dammit! Where would I find food in this strange world?" Zhenyang grumbled while caressing his stomach. Gritting his teeth, he endured his hunger and continued to wait for the master of this cave.

Some hours later…

"Dammit! Now I am feeling thirsty!! Shit!" he cursed loudly and stood up. After that, he started to inspect the whole cave to find anything vaguely resemble some food or water. He searched for a good half an hour but didn't get anything that he could consume. In fact, there was nothing else to look for as everything was here atop this table.

Zhenyang started to get worried. Right now, he can endure both hunger and thirstiness, but for how long? Eventually, he would go mad without food and die of thirstiness. Of course, there was that water pool, but he didn't have enough courage to go there and drink water, afraid of that bird of prey's ambush. Not only that, if a creature like that deer exists, then what if some other creature also come there to drink water and he by mistake encounter them?

"No, I don't think so. If this place is that bird's usual hunting place, then it was less likely that I would encounter an animal here. Even animals have danger instincts, after many deaths, they might have marked this place as a danger zone as long as that bird is around… by the way, what the hell was that bird? I was only able to see it's claw that looked more like talons than claws."

Zhenyang was yet to realize that he was actually talking to himself. By earth standards, it was the first sign of going insane.
