##Chapter 1 Show Time
It was a silent night.
But in Sino Hotel in city Sweda, it was just time for a luxurious birthday banquet.
Sharon Evans, in a nice evening dress and with the birthday crown on her head, was walking to stage gracefully.
People cheered her on, praised her, and applauded for her.
As the daughter of the most famous real estate businessman in this city, Sharon was blessed. She was well-educated, stunning, and gentle. In a word, she was the kind that everyone loved.
At her twenty-two-year-old birthday party, her father, Marvin Evans, gave her half of the shares of his company. As her deceased mother's will, all such shares were hers to have.
Marvin stood on the stage with a smile on his face and an agreement paper in his hand, waiting for his beloved daughter.
Sharon was more than excited at that moment, but she kept the calm smile on her face and walked to the stage gracefully.
"Cliff, I've got a surprise for you,"
she said gently.
She met Cliff Todd in college and had made a deal that they would get married just after they graduated. Today, she would announce this after receiving the shares from her father.
Cliff was the second son of the rich family in this city, the Todd family. As a man from a rich family, he was surprisingly talented. Her father talked with him before and thought highly of him. The two were just the perfect match from any perspective.
However, to Sharon's surprise, Cliff didn't look happy after he heard that. He forced a weird smile and looked bizarre.
Sharon was stunned for a second.
Perhaps he just didn't believe that she would announce their marriage so soon.
Thinking of this, Sharon calmed down and smiled at Cliff. Then she walked gracefully to her father.
Sharon, the brightest star today, was praised by everyone here, except for her stepmother, Joyce Evans, and her step-sister, Renata Evans.
"Mom, look at her smug smile. I'm sick of that. I have been enduring this for too long, and now I can't stand it anymore." Renata said to her mother with a snort.
Joyce comforted her daughter, "The higher she gets, the harder she falls. Is everything I need ready?"
"It's ready," Renata pulled out a flash drive.
"Good," Joyce showed a weird smile as she looked at the girl on the stage.
"Everything would be different tonight, Sharon.
Show time."
At that moment, Sharon finally got to Marvin.
"Happy birthday, Sharon," Marvin stepped forward, held her hands, and hugged her with a smile.
"Thanks, dad," Sharon was delighted. She hugged and smiled back.
They then walked to the center of the stage hand in hand.
"Our honored friends, welcome."
Marvin and Sharon got to the microphone.
"It's well-known to everyone that my ex-wife, Irene Evans, has helped me a lot when I started my business in Sweda. I couldn't have made it without her."
Speaking of this, his tone changed, and he looked a little sad.
"Unfortunately, she worked too hard since she always wanted to help me more, which caused her to leave just after giving birth to Sharon. Before she passed away, she told me her last wish. I must give back her shares to Sharon when Sharon graduates from college."
He suddenly paused and couldn't help sobbing.
"Dad!"
Sharon couldn't bear to watch him cry. She also felt sad and tugged on his sleeves to comfort him.
"I'm good," Marvin tried to control himself.
He calmed down and then raised Sharon's arm, announcing loudly, "Today, my beloved daughter finally graduated from college! She's an adult now, so I should keep my words. According to her mother's last will, I will give the shares to my first daughter, Sharon. Sharon, my daughter, happy birthday!"
"Happy birthday!"
"Happy birthday!"
Marvin's speech lit the audience up. Some young guys proceeded to cheer for the birthday star.
"It seems that Marvin loves his ex-wife much," a guest said to his friend next to him.
"No. If so, he wouldn't have married Joyce Evans. His second daughter is only two years younger than Sharon, but when Irene Evans died, Sharon was already five years old. Can't you see something's off?"
"What? For real?" The guest was shocked, "But Marvin still gives the shares to Sharon according to Irene's will."
"You never know the truth in such a rich family. Just wait and see," another guest snorted.
On the stage, Marvin brought out the agreement he had prepared.
"Sharon," he looked at Sharon with a gentle smile.
"These are the stocks of your mother, her will, and the share transfer agreement. Take it, and you'll become the largest shareholder of the Evans group after your mother."
"Wait!"
Before Sharon took the documents, a woman shouted loudly and snatched the pouch.
Marvin didn't expect that Renata would come on stage and snatch the documents. He frowned and shouted at her.
"Rena! Quite that! Give it back to your sister."
"No!" Renata raised the pouch and snorted.
"She doesn't deserve to hold the shares!"
"What are you talking about?" Sharon was shocked as she heard Rena's words.
She and Renata had different mothers, but they got along well with each other. Renata even wished her a happy birthday this morning.
Why did she suddenly make trouble at such a moment?
"Rena, what nonsense are you talking about? Sharon is your sister, and what she will take today is her mother's heritage. Why doesn't she deserve it? Get out of here. Don't make the guests laugh at us."
Marvin was irritated and felt ashamed. He yelled at Renata.
"You should decide after watching this video. We are doomed to be laughed at today, but the one who will make them laugh is not me, but my sister!"
