Chapter 17: Danger lurks not from an enemy, but beside you

Strolling around the streets in Konoha...

Hiroki and Rin began walking around, nervously looking left in right as Hiroki felt the gazes of people on him.

Usually, he would walk around confidently, knowingly that people would basically ignore him since he usually don't have any presence and could easily hide in plain sight as a normal Mob Character.

This was his usual act since he never felt any fame or presence that people would usually ignore things that they don't care about.

Yet, with Rin on his side, people began to take notice of him and quickly began to gaze at him with curiosity in their eyes, Hiroki who they were staring at, can only hope to just look down and avoid the people's stares, just wanting to run to the nearest entrance he build and never want to come out of Konoha again.

"R-rei...can we quickly go?" Rei(Rin's Fake name) suddenly turned and found Hiroki who was spazing out from nervousness, held her hands as he wanted to pull her into their destination as he didn't want to be the attention of people. He didn't expect her to drag him out of his secret base after seeing the condition of his livelihood. After getting to know each other, Rin wanted to learn more about Hiroki and felt angry knowing that not only was he an orphan, he also lived here because he had nowhere else to go.

After finding out that he was kicked out of the orphanage and was living in a dumpster(Hiroki wanted to cry but can't), she decided to use the money he saved(Exchanging the gold in Minecraft into ryo) to buy a place to live in as they were headed to a place to rent an apartment.

It wasn't that Hiroki was nervous just because he was being stared at by people, he had already sensed someone was staring at him. As if instinctual, he knows who these people are.

The Fox(Naruto), the Dog(Kakashi) and the Audacity of this Lunatic(Obito).

Hiroki knew about Naruto since he had been staring at him for sometime now. Even knowing that he has been frequently visiting Teuchi's place and eating there. Even using his 'goodwill' to eat there because of the competition he had with the Ramen Sage and the 'Waste' food he was given by them.

Teuchi would often tease him by calling him a 'Tsundere' but Hiroki didn't deny that claim as he used that opportunity to support Naruto in growing up.

So, Naruto often became aware that the 'Big Brother' who often hated him, was secretly helping him out but acted like he was annoying such that Naruto slowly became attached to Hiroki since he was a good person to Naruto, even though he can't show it.

Hiroki almost choked up when he heard that Naruto didn't have to try and use a forbidden Jutsu to summon a devil to be his friend anymore. But didn't understand why Naruto began to learn to study.

'Bro, just give up already. I know that you're stupid. I understand you.' Hiroki could sympathize with Naruto since both have the same IQ and didn't want him to suffer like he did in the past.

But when he learns in the future that Naruto becomes different because of him, Hiroki could only glare at him and shout ' Traitor!' in his mind.

Knowing that Naruto was following him, Hiroki just sighs as he can't understand why Naruto could sense him, as if Loners could locate one another like echolocation or something and just left him be since he can't just chase him away.

The problem was the other two that were following him and Rin.

Kakashi who was jumping from rooftop to rooftop, gazes both of them with curiosity as he ignores Hiroki and turns his attention to the girl beside him.

A sense of familiarity slowly washes over him as he can't help but look over towards the girl who looks similar to the girl who he stole her heart.

'I-it can't be....Rin?'

"Rei, can we hurry up? I don't like being stared at like I'm some famous person."

'No, she isn't Rin since I....but why do I feel like I want to know more about her?' Kakashi who is watching over Naruto, unknowingly ignores him and looks over to the two people as he wanted to know who the mysterious girl was. A sense of wanting to know more of the girl began to enter his mind, reminded of a promise he couldn't fulfill as she kept reminding him of the mistake he made that day.

While one man struggles from his past, another was currently observing from a distance as he was struggling to hold himself back, looking at the familiar who he had been chasing for so long. Even to a point where he witnessed her death at the hands of a friend who he trusted her life to.

'Rin! Rin!'

Obito gazes from a distance, in a dimension where only he can enter, seeing someone he recognizes and never thought to be alive, he just wanted to hug her after seeing that she was right there in front of him yet held himself back after recognizing what he did.

Obito knew the mistakes he made, just because he was mad at the world for taking her away. Not only that, it was because his friend, who promised to protect her, was the one who took her.

It was also he, who took the life of their own Sensei and his wife which made him suffer and recognize that Rin might not be happy about what he did.

Instead, he decided to leave and head to back to the Hidden Water to continue torture those people who cause her to die, not believing that this girl was the real Rin, he thought so. Even though the uncanny resemblance from the way she talks to even how she looks. The only difference was Iconic purple mark on her face not being there and wearing glasses, somehow made Obito believe that this wasn't his Rin but someone who just looks like her.

Hiroki believe that if no one could recognize the connection between Naruto and Minato, despite the resemblance between the two, he could basically smuggle Rin the same way they did and it basically worked....for the most part.

The two boys who clearly remember her, didn't seem to know her or even started questioning her as Hiroki believe that it was a familiarity that might have recognized her but he knew that if she only changes a bit and only adjusting her appearance, she can completely look like someone else despite having the same appearance.

If Henry Calvin can walk without anyone recognizing him as Superman, Rin can walk the street just by acting a bit differently and wearing glasses and hiding her Purple marks which made her unrecognizable to even the two people who know her.

Hiroki couldn't help but feel like a Genius despite ripping the idea from someone else as Rin, despite having felt like someone was gazing at her, slowly ignore the as those thoughts of remembering the memories she had in the past, slowly became transparent to Rin, feeling like she started to care more and more of the person on her side.

'Whenever I held Hiroki's hand, I always felt warm. It was like everything was cold until he came and warmed me...'

Rin's gazes towards Hiroki slowly became more and more deep, looking at Hiroki who were walking with her, only the thoughts of being by his side only mattered to her.

If Hiroki knew what she was thinking, he would quickly start running since even without mind reading, his instincts began kicking into high gear since the start of his Second life yet...

'Oh My Notch! I sense danger! Is it Danzo?! Did he find me? Am I going to be captured by him?!'

Hiroki doesn't realize that the danger he's been looking for, was currently by his side at the moment...
