1 Introduction

First Person

This story I am telling you, is the story of my life. It all started when I, Tyler 'Skyshield', a typical orphan, joined the local police department.

I have been an orphan for as long as I can remember. I was in a rather cruel orphanage, and I was just overall a quiet, attentive person. Because of this, and my understanding of the world - thus being very serious about it - I quickly gained the favor of the instructors, leading me to eventually become a member of the (A/N: If anyone knows what it's actually called, please tell me) section of the department that specializes in finding and bringing in criminal refugees from other countries.

I was a good student, did well in most things I did, but at the same time was a bit average. Average grades, average dreams... In short, I was average.

There was nothing too interesting about me, or my life. So what happened to me, was, of course...

interesting.

It all started with one 'raid' as our team called them. We were hunting through a large office building for some fugitives, a rather standard - if somewhat uncommon - procedure. As I was searching around the building - specifically around a workshop of sorts - I came across a device. It looked horrible, make of the most chaotic collection of scrap parts and what looked like... flesh.

I then tripped (A/N: This part is vaguely based off of the digifier from the Gameknight 999 series, all credit goes to the author there.), pulling on some of the wires scattered around the whole room, sending sparks into the air and plunging the room into darkness as the lights went out.

A horrible glow then starting building up from the machine. I don't know what it was, but it was... terrifying. The very light itself sent shivers down my spine, and as the glow built up, I knew I needed to get out. And yet, I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried to move to even crawl out, I couldn't. Just as I managed to raise my radio and yell 'Help me guys!' into it, The machine suddenly exploded, and my vision went white, and faded into black.

I then woke up in the world I am in now.
