68 Episode 64: A New Purpose (3)

***************

Carolus' POV

***************

I swing my sword down, cutting the last zombie in front of me in half.

Kill Count: 61 or what's it 62. I already lost count of how many zombies I killed. I just keep on swinging my sword without effort.

Zombies are not really hard to kill in this world and even in the game. They also don't usually wear strong armors so it's not hard to take them down except for the ones I saw in the End Dimension. Those monsters there have better equipment than me right now but not for long.

After making sure that I killed all the zombies in this section, I quickly cover the end of the tunnel to stop more of them from wandering towards here and start the most beautiful thing I need to do to gather my loot.

And that is 'TO BLOODY PIECE THEM TOGETHER'.

I can't open the zombies' inventory if they are in pieces so I have to determine which body parts belong to who.

I really hate this and I even tried to control my strength but with a diamond sword, I'm like cutting butter with a knife.

Now I think about it, I could just use a bow and shoot arrows from a distance.

Goddammit! I'm really stupid sometimes.

Well, there no helping it now. The zombies are already dead.

I stop grumbling to myself and just start piecing the bodies together.

It took me a while to empty their inventories and to stuff them into minecarts to send back to the surface.

There is still a lot of time before the sunset so burning the zombies in daylight is the fastest way to get rid of them.

I got sort of lucky with this endeavor.

I didn't find a single diamond in their inventories but some of them have diamond pickaxes. I could destroy these pickaxes and turn them into regular diamonds.

I still don't have enough diamonds though to recover my equipment. I guess I just have to continue doing this for a little while.

I need to do something first, I need to clean this place since there so much blood on the floor and I don't want to spread disease in my mineshaft.

I start mopping the floor of the tunnels with clothing I picked up from the dead. I also have plenty of water in my inventory so it isn't a hard task to do.

After cleaning the floor, making them even sparkle a little bit, I start walking back towards the minecarts filled with dead bodies.

I was about to push the minecarts to send them away when suddenly, I can hear a huge thumping sound from behind like something is breaking something.

I turn myself around and start walking back to see what it is.

I manage to get in time to see a four-block tall zombie breaking down the wall I just built.

Interesting. Some of the tunnels here are five blocks wide and five blocks tall so he can freely move around.

He suddenly moans really loud like he's making a roar or something.

How cute.

I quickly crafted a wooden bow and arrows in my inventory since I didn't have any and equip the bow.

I nock an arrow in the bow and fire at the head of the zombie.

He didn't try to evade the arrow or even make a sound when the arrow hits his head.

He still alive though and he's slowly walking towards me.

I fire another arrow in his head.

Still alive.

This time, I fire a total of five arrows to see if he survives this.

The arrows bury deep in his head and he quickly falls down on the ground face first.

'Okay. One arrow for the 2 blocks tall zombies and seven or more for the 4 blocks tall ones.' I made a mental note.

I slowly approach the dead body since he might still alive.

I use my sword to tap him on his back and thankfully, he's dead.

I drag the body and cover up the tunnel again and this time I made it 3 blocks thick to make sure this will not happen again.

I put my hand on the zombie to see his inventory and surprise with what I'm seeing.

Whoa! This guy has TWO STACKS OF DIAMONDS!

I pick up the guy and raise him in his feet with little effort.

"My man! Thanks for this!" I exclaim to the dead body.

I realize that I'm talking to a dead person but I don't care. I have diamonds for life!

I wonder why he has so much diamond in his inventory? He's probably the boss, lord or something when he was a human and was the one who collected the resources that were mined here.

I now have enough diamonds to craft armors, weapons, and tools. I can even craft an extra set of them in case of emergency.

After looting the other stuff in his inventory, I grab him on his shoulder and start dragging him back towards the minecart.

Thankfully, he's not dripping blood or anything so the floor is still sort of clean.

I manage to fit him in a minecart since I managed to fit 5 to 6 of regular zombies into a single minecart. Which means, I have a total of 13 minecarts on the track right now and plus one empty minecart for me. There is also a couple of minecart with chest to store the things that I looted.

I push the end of the train and let the dead bodies and chests travel first then riding my minecart to follow them.

After a couple of minutes, the bodies, chests and I reach the basement of my castle and I start placing tracks on the ground to guide the corpses towards the castle grounds outside.

I was just minding my own business placing rails on the ground and I'm now working my way on the stairs connecting the basement and first floor when suddenly I can hear something from the first floor.

I quickly re-equip my armor and diamond sword and rush to the first floor.

I can see arrows sticking on the walls. They are fired from the dispensers that I hide on the walls.

Someone just trips in one of my traps but the door of the keep is locked.

How did the intruder get inside and where's that person now?

"Quite an ingenious trap design."

I can hear someone talking behind me and I quickly turn around.

Huh? I can see a 3 blocks tall enderman standing but there's something strange.

He looks like a regular enderman to me but he has a cape on his back. Is that an Elytra?

He also talks. This is my first meeting an enderman that can talk.

I'm staring at the enderman eye to eye but he's not enraging and attacking me, unlike the others.

"Your a hard man to find." The enderman says. "I look everywhere in this world."

He starts walking towards me and I raise my sword slightly to prepare to defend myself. He saw it and he quickly stops walking.

"I'm the 'Wandering Merchant'." The enderman introduces himself while slightly bowing. "But you can call me Van."

Okay. What's happening right now? Why is this creature looking for me? What does he want?

I didn't voice any of my thoughts and just remain silent.

I heighten my senses and focus all my attention on him.

"Interesting." The enderman says. "You're a cautious person."

The atmosphere on the first floor right now is starting to get heavy.

I hastily crafted a set of diamond armor in my inventory and ready myself to wear them when things start to go down.

My diamond armor and diamond sword are unenchanted since I don't have enough levels to fully enchant the sword while the armor is just recently made but it's better than nothing.

Damn. Please don't be a Legendary Monster. I don't have time for you right now. I still have a world to save from nether monsters.

I grab an eye of ender in my inventory and use it to the enderman.

He saw the eye of ender and his purple eyes suddenly glows slightly brighter.

The eye of ender's 'fiery eye' suddenly closes and the item I'm holding right now turns into a regular enderpearl.

Great. I guess he has the ability to block anyone from seeing his status.

"My apologies." The enderman says. "I can't let you do that," he says. "I have my reason you see. I hope you can understand."

'Sure thing, you bloody monster.' I say in my head and I didn't voice it out.

I put away the enderpearl and just prepare for battle.

Legendary Enderman's POV

***************

He looks like he's not in a mood for talking.

He has a sword in his hand and he's in a battle stance.

I needed him to calm down first so we can talk.

"I'm not here to fight, Sir." I start saying in a polite tone. "Please put away the weapon."

I stare at him and he still holding his weapon in his hand.

I was hoping to have a gentleman's conversation with him but I guess it won't work since I'm a monster and he's a human. He has every right to be cautious of me.

He just remains still waiting for me to make a move.

I just need to give him a letter to deliver to someone and an item.

I imagine the place behind him and use my ability to teleport.

I appear from behind him and was about to touch him to transfer the letter and the item to his inventory when suddenly he turns around stab my chest with a diamond dagger.

"I fought your kind before." He says. "And all of you are so predictable."

This is my first time hearing his voice.

The diamond dagger buries deep in my chest and my enderpearl core is slightly damaged.

Health: ♥ X 45 (5 down)

I quickly teleport away to distance from him.

He's quick and lethal. I was careless. He also knows my weakness. I need to be careful.

I can see him putting away the diamond dagger in his inventory and equip a diamond bow in his hand.

He nocks an arrow in his bow and aims at me.

My body suddenly moves by itself and I unconsciously teleport myself behind him right before the arrow hits me.

I quickly realize that it was a decoy when I see water pour to me.

I scream in agony and I quickly hop back to distance from him.

I can see him holding an empty bucket in his hand then putting it away and hold a sword.

Health: ♥ X 41 (9 down)

Health: ♥ X 39 (11 down)

My health is gradually decreasing as the water drips from my body and into the floor.

He sees me getting weaker because of the water and use this chance to strike.

He leaps forward towards me with a sword in hand.

I just want to ask him to deliver some things and I'm getting attack before I get the chance to ask.

I'm starting to get angry and equip my diamond hammer in my left hand and swing with everything I got using two hands towards him.

He sees my attack and quickly parry with his sword.

The clash of our weapons is so strong that the stone bricks were standing cracks.

He's really strong. A lot stronger than me when I was a human.

I see him raises his left hand then punch me on the face.

I didn't get the chance to block the attack or even teleport.

I start flying and slam on the wall hard. The entire keep of the castle shakes with the impact.

I hit the floor face first and I quickly get up on my feet since I can't give him the opportunity to stab me while I'm down.

Health: ♥ X 36 (14 down)

At this rate, I will be forced to defend myself and start fighting seriously but that's not the reason I'm here.

Even though he has no fighting style and just uses his raw strength, he's still a formidable foe. No, it's more like the way he fights geared towards fighting monsters and by the looks of it, he so used to fighting them.

I can just teleport away and leave him behind but he's my only chance in delivering this letter.

He's swinging his sword around, probably trying to condition himself then charges forward.

"Wait!" I quickly shout and thankfully, he listens to me.
