24 ALPHA

Lexine came to with a start when her body connected with the ground quite painfully. A female voice spoke up. "Be more careful. We are not aiming to harm her Vira."

"I apologize. I tripped."

"It is alright. That fall might have shocked her awake though. We just need to find out details about her."

"Sheea has some terrible ideas. Kidnapping someone who may be an ally to our future alpha could be liable by punishment. Alpha in training Brashwa is terrifying."

"If we do this quickly and quietly he never has to find out. We are doing this to ensure our future Alpha's is safe Vira. Now pull yourself together and help me pick her up. You carry the shoulders and I'll carry the legs. It will help us reach the back of the colosseum faster."

Lexine groaned. Her kidnappers stiffened. She was awake! 'Where the fuck am I?' The back of her head throbbed painfully. She opened her eyes but was met with pitch-black darkness. 'Have I gone blind?' She blinked twice. 'No. I'm blindfolded.'

She was lifted from the ground and they began moving fast. She tried moving her wrist but realized that they were bound together at her back. 'What the fuck happened to me?'

She remembered Adley leaving and going to bite her cake then... nothing. 'Have I been kidnapped again? What is wrong with these people.'

She tried to talk but realized once more that she was gagged. 'They're lucky. If they had not gagged me, I would have bled their ears out with my cursing.'

She tried to struggle, wiggling her mid-body up and down and around. The previous time she knew why she was being kidnapped. They were just trying to take her to a new school. However, why were they kidnapping her this time? Her body slackened. 'Have they figured out I am human? They are going to kill me, aren't they? I am never going to see my mom again. Just when I had found enough gold to last us years.'

She chuckled at her thoughts, 'Till the last minute I am just going to think about money. I really am just a typical human.'

Yeah, she was human, a weak human at that. How could she even begin to try to fight back when running a few laps left her completely out of breath?

She was pulled out of her thoughts when her body was placed slowly on the ground. The blindfold was yanked from her eyes. The sudden onslaught of the afternoon sunlight made her squint her eyes.

In front of her stood a female who looked terrifyingly familiar. Her head was covered by a mop of blonde hair. She was very muscular and was around six feet tall. 'Where have I seen her before.' As if light bulbs were lit in her head she remembered. It was the werewolf that had sold her and Aurinda the candy apples that morning. She was the one called Sheea.

Sheea removed the gag. Completely ignoring the realization that this was a werewolf in front of her. The said werewolf could crush her with one blow. Lexine could not stop herself from speaking though. She was angry. The audacity of these people! "What the fuck is wrong with you people? First, those three brutes decide that it is the perfect idea to kidnap me and drag me to this school. I mean, I understand that they had to bring me to this school because the ego of the principal could not take that he had been rejected. But what on earth did I do to you? I don't even fricking know you."

Sheea's questions dried on her tongue. The energy signature in the area had flared. It choked her for a second. 'What was I going to ask her again?' She questioned herself. The flaring energy in the area, however, pushed her a small step back.

A girl with brunette hair stepped forward. She was petite compared to Sheea but just as tall. Lexine's gaze turned to her making her stop in her tracks. She was trembling. Beside her was another female with a mop of brown hair on her head. She was shorter but was packed with muscles like Sheea. "Why? I have no idea who you are. Why would you kidnap me? Is it money you want?"

With Lexine's gaze and energy directed to Vira, Sheea was able to get the courage to speak. "Who are you?"

Lexine turned her gaze back to Sheea. Sheea had steeled her resolve so she was able to withstand Lexine's gaze. She cleared her voice. "We want to know who you are. Depending on your answer we might let you live."

Lexine laughed. It was not because she found what Sheea said funny. On the contrary, she was scared shitless. 'Are they planning to kill me? Is this really a school? I want to go back home and learn Physics and Calculus now.'

Sheea and her two comrades were perturbed by Lexine's laughter. Was she crazy? Why was she laughing at the simple question?

Sheea stuttered her next words. "W-we h-heard that y-you are the new housemate to out f-future alpha. I-if you are planning to harm o-our alpha we w-will kill you this instant."

Lexine frowned. Her anger subsided. 'Future alpha? What the heck are they talking about? Alpha sounds familiar. It's the first letter of the Greek alphabet, isn't it? But I can't kill an alphabet can I? Didn't they also speak of something like that in the twilight movie and Shadow hunters? If I am right, it was something about the leader of a pack.'

"I don't even know who your alpha is your idiot. If I did, I don't think I have the strength to harm anyone if I tried."

Sheea crossed her arms over each other. The choking energy signature had subsided. Was she lying to them? She could not be unaware of the waves of power she had just released, could she? Therefore, although she was scared of the kneeling girl in front of her, she spoke up. Her ego would not allow her to submit to someone who could very well be an Anthropoid.

"Do not lie to us. You have a very weird scent. I cannot place where you lie. The only conclusion I can derive from that is that you are using a scent blocker, aren't you."

Lexine cringed, slightly shocked. "The only weird thing here is that you sniffed me. Why on earth would you even do that? Is it a werewolf thing?"

She tried to duck her neck to smell herself. "Do I smell bad? There's no deodorant here. Christana dragged me everywhere I sweated buckets. I am sure I smell like a horse right now."

Sheea was confused. She did not understand half of what Lexine said.

"W-what?"

Lexine sighed. "Never mind. I do not intend to harm your alpha in any way despite my sweaty smelling self. Can you now let me go, please?"

"How can we be sure about that?" The other brunette spoke up.

Lexine gulped. She was right. She had absolutely no proof of her innocence. They could very well kill her on the spot for that. "If I was to kill your alpha, who I do not even know, I would have already killed you for figuring out my plan."

It was an empty threat and she knew it, but they didn't.

Sheea took a step back, scared. She did know about her strength and was toying with them! A growl brought her out of her scared reverie. However, it scared her even more.

Sevin, Artin, Christana, and Adley had arrived.

The three kidnappers blanched. The petite brunette was the first to react by bowing at the knee, her left palm on her chest.

"Alpha."

This snapped Sheea and the mop head out of their reverie. They followed suit and bowed, their left palms on their chests. "Alpha!"

Lexine internally smirked. 'Well well. This is interesting. By process of elimination, Sevin fits the werewolf bill therefore he is their alpha.' Lexine shook her head. He was far from scary!

His next words and expression, however, made that thought fly in the opposite direction for Lexine. He had a deep frown on his face and he glowered at the three female werewolves.

"Can one of you explain what is going on here?" He growled. The energy in the air shifted. On their knees, the kidnappers trembled. The petite brunette was close to tears, but she did not dare make a sound. She had angered their Alpha after all. Any wrong move and he could very well pull her head off of her shoulders.

Christana and Artin each balanced a ball of fire in their right palms. Lexine stared in awe, shock, and fright.

"A-alpha, w-w-we were..."

"Speak clearly Beta, else I will have you stripped of your title!"

Sheea paled. Her bottom lip trembled.

Although Lexine had no idea what title the Sevin was speaking of, she thought, 'Serves her right.'

Sheea kneeled and let her forehead touch the ground with her arms flat in front of her body. It reminded Lexine of the Chinese version of Kowtowing. "I am sorry Alpha. I shall accept the punishment you bestow upon me!"
