Mates

Some versions of omegaverse include things like fated mates, but I'm not going to do that. I am including mates though. When two people decide to mate, they bite each other's scent glands. Mating is permanent and can only be done once in a lifetime. Both parties have to willingly bite the other's gland for the mating to be complete. If mating happens against the will of one party, it will fade in less than a week as the body naturally heals the wound.

There are a few affects to mating. Firstly, the mated pair will feel uncomfortable when they are not around each other for the first two weeks to a month. Secondly, the mated pair can get ill if they don't scent each other once a week or so. You can get around this one by having items of the other person's around you until the next time you can scent. Thirdly, it will make it so the pheromones of the mated pair only affects one another.

The effects of mating will wear off a week or so after one of the mates dies. It is a very binding thing, more so than marriage, so many people choose not to do it even if they are married.
