6 Chapter 6

Tang Kexin continued to feign sleeping. The person who had approached her was clearly carefully observing her actions. And although she didn't open her eyes, she was able to discern from the person's aura that the person who entered was a woman.

It did not take long before that person's back straightened then smoothly extinguishing the fire piston. After which, that person then turned around and left the room.

After confirming that the person had left, Tang Kexin finally opened her eyes. She let out a deep breath and one corner of her lips slightly lifted into a smirk.

She had expected this, Tang Kexin may had cunningly dodged the deliberate inspection earlier in the hall, but she knew that that dubious man would do anything to rule everyone out before he will be satisfied.

Thats why during the day, she painstakingly dripped a molten white wax onto her shoulder, and then ground it over the wound. The wax was too translucent, so she applied a layer of white jade powder to resemble her surrounding skin colour. Under the light of the fire piston, it was naturally difficult for that person to notice anything amiss.

Fortunately, the man didn't personally come to check. If he did, Tang Kexin might not have been able to hide the covered wound so easily.

Tang Kexin could thought of some possibilities why the man did not come himself. First, he find it not worthy of his time to personally inspect a foolish woman but because he needed to be thorough, he couldn't let one escape just because that person doesn't suit the picture; and secondly, because it was a woman's room. He maybe unforgiving most of the times, but he was still an experienced astute man and to be caught in a woman's lair at the middle of the night, was not his persona.

Fortunately, the original Tang KeXin's foolishness was known all over the kingdom to every person, that no one would doubt her lack of ability. And due to this known fact, she seemed to had avoided another trial so far.

One of the temples in the pavilion.

"Reporting to Master, Miss Tang's left shoulder is perfectly fine without any injuries." In the darkness, the woman did her best to lower her voice as she respectfully reported.

The man in front of her didn't make a sound nor make any movements. However, the figure who stood silently and unmoving in the darkness emitted a soul-stirring aura that make people instinctively revere and unconditionally submit into his presence.

The woman who came to report did not dare to make extra sound, her body slightly stiffed.

After a long pause, a low voice suddenly sounded out, "Investigate." This was an extremely simple command, yet it caused his arrogant and domineering aura to be revealed to the extreme. In an instant, the area within 10 miles of him seemed frozen. His voice didn't carry much of emotion, but it was enough to make people uneasy and apprehensive.

The man didn't believe that he couldn't find that audacious woman from last night.

"Yes." The woman who had given the report was so frightened that her body shivered. Even her voice was slightly trembling. Her master at this moment was truly too terrifying. That person who provoked her master truly was fearless! Right now, she already felt sorry for that person, because even if she had thousands or tens of thousands of lives for his master to take, it wouldn't still be enough to placate him.

The next day, Tang KeXin continued to stay in her room. It was better for her to keep a low profile and to avoid any crowd at the time being. And recuperating from her injuries was a really good excuse.

On the third day, after the two-day lecture held by Master Hui Yuan's in the temple, everyone gradually descended the mountain.

The Crown Prince, the Third Prince, and the City Lord of the Phoenix City and some other high-ranking officials had already left. As for Sir Lin's matter, the Crown Prince had already sent it to the Ministry of Justice for investigation.

"Miss, Master Hui Yuan said Miss can go to the Meditation Hall for a fast meal." Dong'er walked into the room. She seemed somewhat puzzled and surprised by Master Hui Yuan's specific instruction.

The master traveled the world, never caring about worldly matters. Even the Emperor couldn't invite him in, although he visited temples as an exception. So why would he be acting specially to her miss?

But to Tang Kexin, she instantly understood Master Hui Yuan's intention. At this moment, he wanted her to go to the Meditation Hall as a start to let the public know that her foolish illness had already been cured. Of course, it also meant that the person she deliberately was trying to hide from had already gone down the mountain, so there was nothing to worry about.

'Alright, it seems that the master is still quite benevolent.' "Okay, then..." Tang Kexin's voice was clearly a bit lighter.

After knowing that that person was no longer near the premises, she finally able to relaxed her tensed state of mind, although she knew it would only for the time being. How she wished she wouldn't have to encounter that man again.

Tang Kexin entered the Meditation Hall like nothing happened. Everyone looked at her, they were all stunned. There was something in how she carried herself as she walked in the room that was so different from her usual self which they couldn't pinpoint what. But they brushed it off and continued to look at her with contempt but with some anticipation. For they knew they would be enjoying another show of her once again. This was because Mu Shaoyi was also in the room.

Liu Ruyue, who was sitting beside Mu Shaoyi, had her expression changed slightly as she tightened her hand inside her sleeve. No matter how foolish Tang Kexin was, Mu Shaoyi was still her fiancé. And that no matter how much Mu Shaoyi despised her, their engagement was officially sealed by the Imperial Seal. Thus, it was not just some simple engagement that he could simply break off.
