30 LIVING IN TOMORROW
Derek is in the University of Toronto Canada studying physiology, life has been great so far, for the past one year after Candice death a lot seems to fall into place "hey" he says "can you come pick me from the airport? I want to surprise Karen, already informed Aunty Milan I'm coming"
He is still in his room when he picked his pen to write in his diary "so the past year happened fast, college, living all I knew to another country just to stay away for a little while right? It did work cause ever since here in college I found out I'm healed... Maybe not completely but okay to have a genuine smile curl up my face, I miss Candice so much and my parents too but hey I got Karen, Aunt Milan and all my friends, Karen won't forgive me for going this far even Jesse and Andrew we all had planned to go to the same uni back home but so long our relationship has been great, I ditched my first break and remained here cause I wasn't ready for the memories but I can't do that to them this second semester, this time I really look forward to seeing them".
Jesse picked Derek from the airport and straight to Aunt Milans house, she got married to Lukas and Derek had purposely missed the wedding five months back cause he wasn't ready which everyone understood.
"Hello young man" Aunt Milan smiles as they both hug, "wait you pregnant already?" Derek brows twitches "yea four months gone!" Aunt Milan giggles, "you never told me" Derek chuckles and is totally happy looking like a kid who just won a box of candy. "I wanted to surprise you" Aunt Milan smiles "you totally did, where's Lukas?" Derek asks sitting down on the sofa "he went to the grocery store to get stuffs especially cause you'll be spending the holiday here" Aunt Milan walks into the kitchen.
"Darling, is he..." Lukas stops at the sight of Derek, Derek stands up taking some bags off his hands and taking them to the kitchen counter "how are you?" Lukas blunts "I'm great" Derek says, Lukas is still feeling uneasy "Lukas, I'm fine, totally plus you guys never told me I was having a niece soon" they both smiled "umm I thought you always wanted a nephew" Aunt Milan steps out with some cooked pasta and beef stew placing them on the dinning table "Candice always wanted a niece first, I see why now, she deserves that much" Derek smiles, Aunt Milan's eyes becomes teary as she walks towards Derek and hugs him "I went for scan, I'm carrying a set of twins so you both still got what you asked for" Aunt Milan smiles trying not to cry "for real?!" Both Lukas and Aunt Milan nods with a smile "that's awesome, I'm happy for you" "thank you, dinners served" Aunt Milan says walking away, "OK we'll be there" Derek says "so you'll tell me all about college?" Lukas asks "yea sure!" Then an awkward silence falls, "I've forgiven you" Derek smiles "and that's because I'm healed plus the new babies coming too" Derek says, Aunt Milan is eavesdropping as she smiles "the girl would be called Candice" Derek states like he just passed some sort of judgement "yea, totally and the boy Derek, I and my wife already agreed on that" Lukas smiles, they both shake hands and hug tapping their backs.
Karen opens the door and almost drooped dead at the sight of Derek "you never told me you were coming?!" She laughs before hugging him, they both kiss, "I wanted to surprise you, hey let's go to the beach" Derek suddenly whispers "why whispering ?" Karen asks "I guess your parents would be around" Derek shrugs "no they ain't , I'm home alone, they'll be back by tomorrow" Karen shrugs "okay, come on then let's go" Derek opens the door for her "thank you" she smiles, sweeping her hair behind her ear.
Derek and Karen both stand in the water, shoulder length. "I'm happy on where we are" Karen states "same and tomorrow we'll all hang out, spoken to Jesse, Natasha and the rest of the guys, we are having the weekend off, you know like a get together, doing all the fun stuffs" Derek smiles "that'll be totally nice" Karen nods, "so you horrible at that dance competition you went for" Derek laughs "shut up! You voted!" Karen hits him weakly "I did not have a choice!" Derek laughs, Karen feigns annoyance and wants to walk away "you know I won't let you go right?" Derek grabs her waist turning her around to face him" as they both kiss "it's a full moon" Karen states looking up "glad there are no wolves anymore to ruin it, ever" Derek concludes as they both smile cupping their faces and kissing yet again.
