8 GUILT
Natasha lifted Jesse's head up as she spoke an unknown language, he widens his eyes which turns all white before dropping on the floor, Natasha stands up and leaves.
Derek arrives home, ''and why are you home early?'' Aunty Milan ask, Derek jerks at the hearing of her voice ''um... I am feeling a bit dizzy so... I came home to take a nap'' Derek lies ''are you sure you don't want me to take you to the hospital?'' Aunty Milan looks worried ''no! I am just stressed out'' Derek's says trying to control his breath ''I am going to the supermarket to get some groceries or would you like me to stay around?'' Aunty Millan asks ''No! Not at all um... I mean I am fine'' Derek says a bit restless ''okay, I'll be right back.'' She assures as she leaves. Tears stood in Dereks eyes as he headed for his room, he locks his door and drops his school bag carelessly, he flips over his reading table causing all his books to fall to the ground, making a disturbing noise, he falls to the ground and begins to sob.
Natasha and Mira are in a bus as Natasha looks out the window ''Derek is changing, he bit Jesse today'' ''he did what?! How? but I thought he was turning to a merman?'' Mira asks in a whisper, shocked ''trust me when I tell you I am confused, but not to worry I casted a memory whipping and healing spell on Jesse'' Natasha says, ''you did what? Why would you cast the healing spell what about if he dies and turns into another vampire?!'' Mira asks again still shocked this time frustrated ''should I have allowed him die? You know the first bite kills immediately! I couldn't imagine myself babysit two newborns in this supernatural realm. We can't handle two new supernatural beings! That's too much to take in...'' Natasha says looking out the window again ''you are right, it sure is the only way, what have we gotten ourselves into?'' Mira gently hits her forehead, ''what have I been saying ever since? We have to find a way to fix this'' Natasha concludes.
Derek is in school the next day, he watched the news all night waiting to hear a breaking news that would read 'HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ATTACKED BY A WILD ANIMAL IN THE GENT' but that didn't happen. He made up his mind to tell Jesse everything if he was still alive, he saw Jesse running towards him from the Hallway, he lost the courage he once gathered and turns away but Jesse looks alright, ''what's up man?!'' Jesse asks ''listen I am so sorry, I don't even know what's wrong with me or how to explain myself, see...'' Derek explains as Jesse cuts in ''yeah man I was so surprised on how you'd missed our baseball training after school. Anyway you are playing quarterback today so be prepared, I have a make up test to get to, see you in class'' Jesse taps his back and runs off. Derek stands, confused and amazed.
Derek in his room writing on his diary ''sometimes I feel my life is a terrible nightmare, I don't know how Jesse survived that monstrous part of me, I haven't still gotten these scales off my leg, so I am not risking changing my clothes in school, I'll wear my game clothes from home but Jesus! That'll be embarrassing, I'll be thought weird but if only they knew half of what I am going through, I can't let this monstrous part of me take away my normal life, can't keep avoid training forever.'' he closed his diary and picks up his chemistry text book.
Derek is having launch in the schools canteen when Mira approaches him saying ''hello Derek'' ''hey Mira how are you doing?'' Derek asks smiling ''here, my birthday party'' she hands over an invitation card ''oh great! congratulations'' his face fell as he continued ''but I won't be able to make it. I have lots of works rolled up my sleeves lately.'' ''I totally understand but I thought you would be able to spare me some of your time. Celebrate with me. you know this is the first favour I have ever asked of you'' Mira says sadly , Derek looks at an empty space in thoughts, he finally says ''okay, I'll be able to squeeze out an hour or two'' Derek grins ''thank you'' her face lightens up, ''do you care for some chicken nugget?'' He asks with a smile, ''no thanks, I still have some invitations to do, see you later'' she waves smiling.
