13 DEEP, BLUE AND SERENE.

Karen got into her room looking almost poignant. She fell on her bed, tears falling from the side of her eyes down to her ears. She picks up her phone attempting to dial Derek's number, she hesitates and clicked on 'create message' instead, typing "Hey baby... How are you? I know you are going through a lot but I need yo... " she stops, clearing the text as she drops her phone on the floor. She began sobbing ever so quietly with thoughts of her parents asking her what's wrong. Karen never lies to her parents, she is that good of a girl. She soon falls asleep to the hazy feeling her room portrayed.

It was 6:00 AM on a Monday morning and Derek is already on his way to school, him not being able to think straight he went to the beach with hopes of thinking things through. At the sight of the ocean his plans changed, he removed his shirt, bag and shoes and keeps them behind a rock. He runs into the water swimming till his legs cant touch the ground, his eyes burning from the salty water and soon enough he feels his legs gone, he is not used to this even till now, he took in a deep breath and dives in deeper than he has ever been, he feels awkwardly peaceful in here, the depth, blueness and the serenity, the calming echos the water whispers and the sea animals all minding their businesses. It's Like magic how close he swims alongside with the sharks and dolphins. He kept exploring as he forgot he is not breathing, holding his breath has never felt so comfortable, he swims not so far though, he remembers he has to get to school.

Candice is in the woods not far from school making out with one of her seniors in high school, Aaron, she don't even know why she is with him at the moment despite they've been going on for sometime now but at this point she feels no pity or remorse for her cheating on her boyfriend, she has lost her conscience "I'm late for my first class" she says as Aaron casually nods not ready to pull out of the kiss, she pulls out as he pouts and brings out some cocaine from his pocket and begins sniffing, she picks her bag from the floor removing dry leaves hanging on it. "So you called me here for a make out session huh?" She asked " No I called you to get you a bit loosed and also you can try some of my nuts" he says with a wink, Candice frowns "ah no! no, not the kinda nut you thinking, I mean my" he hesitates then whispers "cocaine" "oh, see ya" Candice says and walks out casually

Derek sees Candice heading to the school compound he begins to call "Candice! Candice!!" She stops looking around just to see Derek running towards her "thought you ought to be in school by now" he said concerned "arrived late, you left home early, how come you here?" Candice smirks "uh I just... uh I just, you know what? Never mind "see you later" he says running to the high school building "bye" Candice says as she walks on.

Derek walks into class pretty late "hold it right there Mr corbett" Mr Ben says. Mr Ben is Dereks physics teacher, with an alarming bald head "good morning Mr Ben" Derek says "And why are you arriving this late?" The teacher asks "uh.. I got my cloth stained so I ran back to change" Derek says "stained? With poop or blood?" Mr Ben says sarcastically. The whole class begins to laugh "quiet!!" Mr Ben orders and everywhere became noiseless." "I was stained with mod sir, I fell" Derek says this time looking directly to Mr Bens eyes, something about Dereks stare seems to frighten the teacher, "You can have your sit but next time you'll be on detention you've been off lately even in your test" Mr Ben says, Derek nods as he walks to his seat.

Candice is in her room sorting some books from her school bag when she finds something wrapped up in a paper, she unfolds it and finds out it's cocaine, just then her phone rings, she jerks up but calms as she picks up the call "hello?" "Hey hope you saw my gift?" Aaron asks "you crazy, I ain't taking it" Candice giggles "it'll give you a break" Aaron says "from what?" She asked half giggling "from your troubles, all of it" Aaron concludes and hangs up. Candice stares at the substance she's holding, she folds it and keeps it back into her bag, she stops and was just quiet, simply quiet. She reaches out for the substance again, she unwraps it this time like she needed to, she sniffs, she feels her head and nose giving her a funny feeling. She sniffs again and again until she had her fill.

Candice quickly cleans her face, taking sometime to calm down then opens the door "What the hell are you doing in there I've been here knocking for ages. I want you to help in kitchen" Aunt millan says "now?" Candice asks "we ain't gonna be eating by 11 P.M. sure it's now honey" she says "but I've got some school works to do" Candice pleads "no, no baby, you have until midnight to do that but dinner can't wait, mhm mhm. now move your lazy self to the kitchen" Aunty millan says pulling Candice out and pushing her gently towards the staircase, Candice walks down lazily groaning.
