6 Chapter6: Meet The Families

My Dad grabbed my hand as I walk to sit beside my husband, he squeezed my hand gently in a way that indicate support. I'm available baby if you want to talk, I plant a kiss on his cheek and squeezed his hand in return, My Mum smiled at me with Love and rubbed my face with her palm. Leo! I greeted my Eldest Brother, pulled my elder brother Maxwell's hand teasingly and pinched Daisy who was blushing at the tease. 

Meet my Family, My name is Vanessa Erioluwadaju Diaz, yes I'm of a Spanish descent, but my Origin are kind of mixed. My Mum was born of an African Woman,  Yoruba woman from Akure in Nigeria, My maternal grandmother came into the US as an International Student, met my grandpa who was widowed with a six year old son to take care of. When my grandma took the job of Uncle Ivan's nanny, she was good with Uncle Ivan and my grandfather who is a Greek business man fell in love with her, she was twenty six years old and my grandpa was thirty five, they got married six months after meeting each other and has been married for fifty two years. My grandpa and grand ma travelled the world after retiring and went back home to Athens twelve years ago. My grandma only had my Mum, and together, they raised the two Children with Love. My mom and uncle Ivan speaks both greek and Yoruba fluently, and my siblings and I can speak it perfectly too, we are Americans so we speak English all the time. 

My dad is Spanish, his Mum was born of a Mexican woman and an American and his Dad is of pure Spanish descent, no mixture, but he was born in France and came to America to study. My paternal grandparents met at a mutual friend's wedding and hit it off, three months later they got married and have been married for fifty eight years, my Dad is fity four and his elder Sister is fifty eight, you guessed right, my grandpa knocked my my grandma up two months after meeting at the wedding. In total, we speak five languages in my Family, English, Spanish, Yoruba Greek French, and yes we have chains of restaurants in these natives. My Dad Mr Peter Elrad Diaz and my Mum Adebola Esther Diaz met at a business meeting to discuss a business deal between both firms and my Dad fell in love with her on first sight. It's been 33 years, and we are here still one big happy family.

Leonardo Ibukunoluwa Gregory came first, He is a chef, studied in France and Italy and will soon be calling the shots and running our family business, our parents are retiring, and wants to go round the world to enjoy their second honeymoon. Maxwell Ifeoluwa Lucas is a lawyer, himself and Dave runs their own legal firm, and my humble self, Vanessa Erioluwadaju Gabriella is the baby of the house, the only one married and an event planner. Betty is from Nigeria, apllied to be Leo's nanny 33 years ago and became family, she married uncle Ivan's Greek assistant, Uncle Silas, they had a set of twins, Christian and Christine who currently both traveled to Greece for a family function representing their parents, they would have been at this table otherwise, uncle Silas is handling the business transition into Leo's hand for my family and has been busy everyday. We ate amidst talk of businesses and the complains of the adults hounding Leo and Dominic about marriage, Maxwell and Dave scaled through by a thin line. Christine will be so happy for you Grace said as she cleared the table with Betty,  will Liza be happy? I asked Grace, Liza is Grace's and Uncle Ivan's daughter, my uncle fooled around with Grace when his wife stayed in China with my Cousin Brian, my uncle's wife is Chinese and had to travel to Beijing to save her father's company and run it for a few years, Brian is Leo's agemate while Liza is my age mate, just three hours apart, she's my cousin who in a way believed that My Desmond is in Love with her. Grace was Desmond's nanny, and she is till Daisy was born, Daisy is older by three months. Daisy and liza were raised by Dulce and  Grace, My mum and Betty raised Myself and the Betty twins. My Aunt Zhuo Ling treats Liza well, but her marriage with my Uncle suffered. She sent Liza to man the  China branch few weeks after my wedding, she told her you are not responsible for how you were born, but you can be responsible enough not to become your Mother. Her words hurt Grace a great deal, but it's just the truth. The 11 of us were raised together and we need not look for Friends, we are all friends
