Sleepless Night

'Came to an end?'

'But why?'

'He was an actor for nearly a decade filming one movie per year. Isn't this profession supposed to be his stress-buster? Why would he stop it now? Nothing changed in his life though.'

Weimin's secretary couldn't understand his boss's thoughts but couldn't dare to voice out his questions. With his head remaining in a puzzle he drove forward among the traffic on the road.

When he peered at the rear view mirror, he found his boss looking out the window in a daze. This look is surely the first time he had ever saw on Weimin's face.

. . .

The emotions of Weimin's secretary are shared by another person. That person is none other than Sun Bingwen.

He is extremely puzzled by the behavior of Shao Rong after they returned to their villa. As soon as they entered, without speaking a single word she strode towards her room in a daze.

Though Sun Bingwen is not much familiar with Shao Rong or her personality, the amount of time he was acquainted with her made him understand that her behaviour is strange.

Though he couldn't understand her changes much clearly, there is nothing he could do. Hence he left and arranged for the work Shao Rong asked him to do.

After some time Bingwen knocked on a room door. Shao Rong came into view after her makeup removal when she opened the door from inside. Bingwen handed all the movies including movie posters and some other details regarding the movies in which Weimin acted since his debut.

The details were so detailed that they consisted of every little interview regarding a movie that one could find.

As soon as she took everything that Bingwen gave, Shao Rong uttered a simple thanks and closed the door on his face without waiting for his reply or for him to move away.

Sun Bingwen, on whom the door was just shut, was embarrassed that he touched his nose and cleared his throat, straightened his back and moved away casually whistling to himself as if nothing happened but if one were to look closely his ears were red from the embarrassment that he couldn't hide.

It is actually a wonder that he is not angry but just embarrassed about this situation. In his entire life, who would dare to shut a door to his, Sun Bingwen's, face without any respect.

He clearly knew that he couldn't say anything to Shao Rong but is that really the reason that he is not angry at her? No. There is some respect towards her from the bottom of his heart which he doesn't know how it was formed within himself within just a span of two days.

It may be by the aura that surrounded her or her gentleness that was hidden under her cold eyes or her acting skills which were enough to shock an actor like himself. But he is sure that the respect is not because of his father's respect towards her. She earned her own respect by herself.

. . .

Inside the room, Shao Rong who doesn't know that she gained the respect of Sun Bingwen by simply being herself is in a daze looking at the movie posters in her hands.

Actually, it is not the poster but the image of the man on the poster was the one who captured her eyes.

She did not look at the movies but kept them aside on the bedside table and held all the posters in her hands and laid on the bed on her back.

She looked at the pictures of the man whose face gradually changed from a young boy into an adult that he is today. Looking at every little change on his face that took place year by year, she could not remember when she dozed off into her sleep.

On the other side of the city, a man laid on his bed the same way Shao Rong slept on hers. He was also looking at a few pictures in his hands.

Unlike Shao Rong who looked at the pictures she never looked at before, Weimin was looking at the pictures which he saw for over a decade regularly.

The pictures are of Shao Rong when she was in high school. Each picture captured her bright smile which showed only in front of him. Some pictures had Weimin himself in them in which the couple looked at each other lovingly. Some captured when they both were playing with their friends, while some captured when they gave their speeches on a podium in their school.

All the pictures consist of the memories of their time together. It's their happy time together.

It's not just their pictures, but it's their love.

Unlike Shao Rong who dozed off, Weimin was unable to sleep until the time when it was about to sunrise. He finally slept at dawn to grab a few hours of sleep.
