A Friend.

Yes. Someone who was very close to her. Very close. How long has it been since she met that person?

The same amount of time since she last met Ren Weimin. Yes, it's been a decade too. She did not meet that person for a decade too.

Why? Is that because of Ren Weimin?

If she said that it was not because of him, she would be lying. But she can't blame everything on him.

Because, it's her choice to leave. It's her choice to not contact them all these years.

She could have met her friend, ignoring Ren Weimin, but she chose not to. If it's her choice, how could she blame someone else for her own choices? She was never that unreasonable.

If she was really that unreasonable, when she met Ren Weimin after so many years, she would have jumped and shouted at him like a shrew. Instead, she smiled at him and talked to him like an old friend whom she met after a long time happily.

Is she really happy? Yes. But does she really want to meet him? No.

She wants to ignore him. She never wanted to meet him again. Because she was afraid that all her suppressed feelings would flow out involuntarily if she took a glance at him.

If she really wanted to meet him, would that be really difficult for her? Of course not. But she simply chose not to see him. But along with him, she chose to leave everyone around him. If the reason was not him, then who would be?

Though she knew that it was because of him, she would never blame him for these choices that she made herself.

"Who is that?" the childish voice from beside her brought her back from her daze.

She looked at the kid who sat beside her looking at her intently with curiosity and smiled at him as she rubbed his head, "A very good friend of mine. You look just like her." As she remembered her friend, she chuckled, "Do you know, you even behave exactly like her. If you both were of the same age, I would guess that you both were twins."

Xiao Cheng did not get offended but instead smiled at Shao Rong as he found love in her eyes for her friend whom she confessed was similar to himself. Since she likes that friend of hers, then it would mean that she likes himself who is similar to her, right?

He answered himself with a 'yes' and smiled more cutely, "She would be a very smart person if she was like me, right?"

His words made Shao Rong chuckle as she nodded her head at him, " Yes, very smart. Just like you."

"Is she handsome like me?" Shao Rong laughed at his words as Xiao Cheng who always behaved like a little adult spoke words that reminded her that he was not an adult but was really a little kid.

"She is very beautiful just as handsome as you are." She once again patted his little head as she was amused at his reaction when he realized his mistake in his usage of words.

Without accepting his mistake, he chose to ignore their previous words and tactfully changed the topic to the taste of the cookies in his hands. Shao Rong pretended to not notice his changing the topic and gave him a face by going along with him.

After chatting for some time, she moved around doing her work while Xiao Cheng turned himself into her tail and followed her in every step.

If she is doing some manual labor, he would step forward, like a little gentleman he is, taking some load off her hands and carrying them for her.

Looking at the cute tail that was following around a cute Shao Rong, all the crew members were amused and smiled occasionally in their direction from wherever they were standing and whatever they were doing.

They already thought that Shao Rong was a cute and a diligent kid but looking at a smaller version of her, in a little boy, who was more cute and more diligent made everyone's heart melt.

After the time was up, once again, Xiao Cheng went away without letting her meet his father. He once again talked in his phone secretly and went calmly and sat in the backseat of a car without letting her come out of the set making her not even witness the car that he boarded.

Shao Rong just shook her head once again in helplessness and went into Sun Bingwen's room to pack their belongings along with others to leave.

As she packed everything, a smile never left her lips as she remembered Xiao Cheng's promise about his arrival the next day too. She is very happy to accompany that cute kid as much time as possible.
