2 Pig Daddy

In order to live was a bit of an overstatement. Even if you were killed by a monster you would respawn with a gold and exp penalty. The only reason you had to fight was for the rewards in order to buy and eat food. Although you wouldn't die from starving in the game, you would still go hungry. The same would happen if you went without sleep. Basically you would go insane.

As proof of this theory, one guy tried to go without food or sleep when the bug was discovered. He went mad and went on a rampage. After killing a few players and monsters, a group of players found him eating a zombie that was still moving. After a while he passed out. Everyone wanted to avoid that outcome even though it wouldn't kill them.

Therefore the players had to purchase a room from an inn and food in order to live. However because the game was still very new a few things still weren't balance correctly. One of these things was the cost of an inn's room and buying a house in the game. The developers never intended for the players to use inns at the early stages of the game. This made the cheapest room cost a whopping 500 gold a night!

Most monsters between the levels 1-5 would only drop 5-15 gold pieces. So players would have to kill around 50 monsters in order to stay at an inn or do a bunch of quests to help match the massive fee. Even though in a normal MMO killing 50 monsters wasn't difficult, this was the very first VR MMO and people were still very much getting used to it. Fighting a low level monster was similar to fighting someone in real, most of the trapped players had never been in a fight before. On top of that, these monsters were nothing that had ever been seen before, they had unique skills and players were terrified once they saw them in the flesh.

This lead to players teaming up and forming parties to fight together in order to reduce the strain. However this would mean players would need to kill a relatively large amount of monsters in order to live. Most players could make this amount of money in a day, but Bill could just barely make this amount. This was because he hadn't touched a video game since he was a teenager and also lacked regular exercise. He was terrible at the game!

On his way out of the dungeon he spotted a loner like himself fighting a horde of slimes. The same situation Bill had just been in! After hiding behind a few empty barrels, Bill scouted out his in-game name as 'Pig Daddy', much like his name, Pig Daddy was a rather big and chubby man with a large pig-nose.

Pig Daddy swung his massive two-handed axe at the slimes.

"Hyaaahh!"

His mighty battle roar reverberated through the dungeon walls. Unfortunately for big Pig Daddy his axe struck air despite there being a horde of slimes in every area of his vision. The slimes latched onto his armor and his bare skin, slowly but surely burning his flesh.

After taking rather minor damage, Pig Daddy retreated backwards and stumbled to Bill's position. 'Goddammit asshole, don't come towards me! I can't fight these things either!!' Bill could do nothing but curse in his head. Pig Daddy leaned onto one of the barrels for support and out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Bill squatting down inconspicuously.

A huge smile of relief washed over Pig Daddy. 'Great! This guy and I can fight these monsters together and we might even be able to become friends'. Little did he know that Bill was just about to run away.

"Hey man. I'll add you to my party! Lets fight these slimes together, the quest I'm doing right now is a special quest and has really good rewards!", Pig Daddy spoke in a very friendly manner. 'What kind of quest would give you good rewards for killing slimes? This guy's a nut.' Bill had these thoughts and stood up, turning away fro Pig Daddy, he was about to just run.

Unluckily for Bill, the horde of slimes had surrounded the both of them, he had nowhere to run now!
