44 Chapter 43 – The Fall of Endeavor (part 2)

After dropping Endeavor to the police station, I went home through a warp gate and threw myself on my bed, quite exhausted.

The fight itself wasn't that exhausting, but all the preparation that had to be done before it took all the free time I had this week.

Additionally, I wasn't as unharmed as I seemed to be, my skin was red, slightly burnt everywhere, my arms and legs hurt like hell, but it wasn't anything serious, only the aftermath of my fight against someone who threw 1500 degrees fireballs at me.

I really needed that regeneration quirk…

Before going to sleep, I thought back on anything I could've done better in that fight and, really there wasn't very much.

Not walking through a firestorm would've been a good idea, in hindsight, but I wanted my bad*ss moment.

Also, I still didn't use my other quirks, but those were "exclusive" to Raiko and not Knockout and they wouldn't've been that useful, as I can't use Titanium Body on too many limbs at the same time. Sure, my whole body my easy, but when I added additional limbs or bones…

Endeavor would've simply burnt most of what I would have created and it would've consumed Life Energy like crazy, but it was true that my stockpile was ridiculous at this point, so…

Speaking of stockpiles, I used my strength stockpile a lot today, but I really didn't use it often, as I didn't need to anymore, so it didn't matter at all that I had used it a lot, unless tomorrow All for One decided he wanted to fight me, which would be quite surprising.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my day, but the true show would start tomorrow.

And so, for the first time in 4 weeks, I slept.

And I slept a whole eight hours, it had been more than a decade since the last time I had slept that much, and I needed it, normally I slept for a couple of hours each week but this time it had been a month since I had slept.

The Next Day

Shock was too light of a word to describe the state of Japan today, it was a mix of devastated and astonished.

Devastated because the number two hero had been revealed to be a criminal, a child abuser in fact and astonished because said number two hero had been literally thrashed around by Knockout last night.

To see exactly the extent of what was happening, I opened a random news channel and listened.

"Japan is in a state of shock today as it is revealed that number two hero Endeavor has been abusing his child for several years, leading to the disappearance of one of them. The hero in question is currently still unconscious at the hospital, he hasn't woke up since he lost his fight against Knockout yesterday. In a moment, an excerpt from their fight, which was caught by nearby security cameras, will be played."

Soon after the news reporter said that, a part of my fight played on the screen, the part where I used my new fighting style and completely combo'ed Endeavor to oblivion, to be precise.

It really was different, seeing it from a third person's point of view, as it was going at an extremely quick pace, barely anything could be seen.

You could only see warp gates appear for a split second, then Endeavor 'teleported' (he got thrown through a warp gate but it was so fast that it seems like he teleported), I blinked near him, hit him, and repeat.

It was that fast and this part didn't even last 10 seconds but Endeavor 'teleported' well over a hundred times, it was quite horrifying to watch, really.

After the video finished, the woman on the news started talking again.

"As you can see, Endeavor was completely overwhelmed by the mysterious Vigilante who, after thoroughly defeating the number two hero, took a picture of him, beaten black and blue, and posted it on his social media before delivering him to the police."

"But that was not all he posted on his social media, he also provided a link to a website listing, with proof, all of Endeavor's crimes. It is quite horrifying to learn that the number hero, a model for many people, was such a vile person all this time."

I closed my television at this point as she had resumed well enough the situation and instead opened the internet, to see the reaction of the people.

I looked at the comment on my post yesterday, which had a staggering number of likes and shares, but it wasn't that suprising...

Nope, nothing to see here, just the internet being the internet..What did I expect…Some civilized people?

I quit the internet just to realize that the Hero Association had just published an official statement about the matter, under the form of a video of the president of the association.

It basically explained that they knew about this and worked with Knockout on this matter, but had absolutely no idea that Knockout would go after Endeavor himself and that they didn't encourage Viglantism at all, but since a kid's well-being was at stake, they did what they needed to do.

It kinda painted them more as the good ones than me, but it didn't matter, the world pretty much knew that I had done everything, it wasn't very hard to deduce, especially since I had been the one to expose Endeavor in the first place.

If they had any control on the matter, it certainly wouldn't've ended in the same manner.

After that, I checked on each of the Todoroki children to see if there was something they needed, but since they were all ready for this, they managed it quite easily.

Dabi was ecstatic, he was so happy, especially when I had sent him a video from a better angle of my thrashing of Endeavor, I think I was a god for him now. I hope that it would be enough to make him change to a good person, now that Endeavor had been punished.

Fuyomi and Natsumi were with their maternal grandparents, but since they were older, they didn't really need anything.

Shoto, was the only one who was still living with his father. He was now at U.A., fortunately, since the reporters and paparazzi had swarmed the Todoroki mannor, searching for anyone to interview.

And he was safe at U.A., some friends had come to the school to talk to him, comfort and support him and he had visited Hound Dog, U.A.'s counselor.

I'd say Shoto was doing well, giving the situation he was in.

On that note, the rest of my day passed quite calmly, I took a day off, which was extremely rare in my case, but I think I deserved it.

Thinking of something I had never done in ages, I texted Kyotaka.

"Want to hang out? Check the news."

Not even a second later, she replied to me.

"Of course"

Good, I can't remember the last time I had done that, hanging out…

And I was really looking forward to it.

That was kinda sad, wasn't it?
