30 Chapter 29 – Good Luck!

For the next few months, life continued normally. Police continued to search for Knockout, Knockout continued to stop Villains. I continued to work with the police and heroes on multiple cases and my reputation was even better than before, I was the only field quirk analyst and was invited to the majority of hero raids. Also, I and Knockout had been seen at the same time (I used a clone) during one police operation and I had officially "identified" his quirks, a warp gate and stockpile one. I also removed even more suspicion from me (Raiko) but they were already 99,99% sure I wasn't Knockout before, so it didn't change much.

Likewise, I had continued to investigate Endeavor with Dabi and even started to lower his popularity so that when I would reveal what I had on him, it wouldn't be too big of a shock. I was very close to the end of my investigation, and Dabi had already met a couple of times with each of Endeavor's children and spoke to them about what he was doing, the investigation and, thankfully, they all agreed to help us in any matter they could, as they didn't really like their father. We had decided that a bit after the school year would start, we would officially bring down Endeavor so that Shoto could hopefully make a few friends that would help him through this and U.A. had very good guidance counselors.

Speaking of U.A., since I was a teacher, I had been to a couple of meetings and met the rest of the staff, whom I had, the majority of them, already worked with a couple of times since they were all pro-heroes. Besides the staff meetings, I've had a couple of private meetings with Nezu and members of the hero commission for a project/new training that I wanted to implant in U.A. during my classes. They had accepted and I'm sure that it would greatly help the future heroes. What was this new training/project? Well, that was a secret…

I had also continued to train Kyotaka and she was now a powerhouse, I pity her future opponents and the robots at U.A.'s entrance exam. She had extremely good control of her quirk, which allowed her to manipulate sound, was decent in hand-to-hand combat and could be very stealthy if she needed to. Moreover, I had taught her on how to be a convincing actor and how to be a good liar, because she was also a wanted Vigilante. Although that police weren't really searching for her she hadn't done much, she was still wanted, so she was going to need her acting skills in the future.

The past months I had spent training her had made me realize something that it was nice to have a friend, I had found myself smiling more often and generally in a better mood. I also trusted her, a lot, so I was considering whether I should reveal my identity to her, after all, I had known who she was for months, but she still had absolutely no idea who I was. And if I revealed my identity to her, it would allow us to do "normal" friend activities that weren't to stop villains.

Finally, I had not bought any new quirks, I was saving for a regeneration quirk or something similar.

I stopped thinking about these past few months when I saw Kyotaka arriving at our usual meeting spot, but without her Vigilante costume. Today was the day of U.A.'s entrance exam, so we didn't have a training session, we still met though, I had to wish her good luck.

I waved at her and she waved back, before running toward me. She looked a bit anxious, even though we both know she was more than powerful enough to get in. Seeing her expression, I spoke:

"Good Morning. Today's U.A.'s entrance exam. Not too stressed about it? I know you're ready and more than powerful enough to get in."

"Thanks. I know I'm skilled enough to get in and that the written exam isn't a challenge, but that doesn't prevent my brain from making me anxious…" She replied to me, her face easing a bit.

"Well, I'm confident in you, and you should too. You'll easily get into U.A., we've been training for months after all."

"I know, I know… Thank you. She smiled at me while talking and I knew that I had succeeded in making her a bit less anxious about the exam.

After a few seconds of pleasant silence, I spoke again, this time with a serious tone:

"Kyotaka, can I trust you?" I already knew the answer but I still asked.

"Yes, why? Is something wrong?" She was a bit startled by my sudden seriousness.

"No, no. It's just that I've been knowing who you were for as long as we knew each other, but you, no matter how you searched for who I am, you didn't find anything. Don't worry, I'm not mad that you tried to discover who I am. In fact, I would've probably been disappointed if you "

"Well, you have important reasons to protect your identity, like the safety of your family, so it doesn't bother me, I understand.

"Yes, but since you're actually the person I've known for the longest time outside my family that isn't a police officer, an inspector or 50 years old…And, like I said, I trust you. But I'm not going to outright tell, you, that would be too easy. So I'm going to give you a clue", I said with a mischievous smile.

"I can't say I'm not curious, so, go on. But really, you don't need to tell me, don't feel obligated to tell me."

"Don't worry about that, if I tell you, it's because I want to. As for the clue, it's that I'm the same as you, fifteen. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago. That's two clues"

"WHAT! Wait, if you're the same age as me that means seven years ago, when you started as a Vigilante, you were eight? I was sure that you were like, seventeen or eighteen, maybe even twenty." She was shocked, and she was a little happy that we were the same age

"Well, I grew up fast, and it definitely helped me. It has already been seven years since I started… Time sure flies, I remember when I destroyed AnArchY, all those years ago." I thought about the past and it's now that it truly hit me, it had been very long since I started as a Vigilante

"Yeah, I remember you fight against MechAnicAl, I think when I saw you fight him that you became known and popular. That fight was epic…But wait, you were what, nine or ten years old when you fought him. What the actual f*ck. Dude, what did you eat when you were young to defeat supervillains before turning ten."

"I was a special child, okay…And I started training when I was five and never really stopped."

"Still, you're impossible…"

"Yeah, thanks. You should get going now, though, the exam will start soon, you wouldn't want to be late. Good luck!"

"Thanks, but I don't think I'll need it. After all, I was trained by the greatest." She cheekily said before leaving and going toward a bus stop.

"Oh, and to motivate you even more, if you take first place, I'll give you another clue about my identity!" I shouted since she was quite far from me.

"You're on, I'll easily take first place!"

I smile after she left, I was sure she would take the first place easily, as she said. After all, I wouldn't've trained her if she didn't have any potential and the will and discipline to transform that potential into strength.

After a minute or so, I opened a warp gate home and changed, getting ready for the entrance exam, but not as a candidate but as a teacher.
