16 Chapter 15 – The Ambush

Eraserhead's POV

Something was wrong.

I don't know what, but something was wrong, very wrong.

The instincts I had honed through countless lives and death battles were screaming at me right now… The were screaming that something was wrong.

Right now, I, and the rest of the ambush team, approximately thirty people who were all underground heroes, were stealthily waiting in the dark for Knockout to show up. The plan was simple, I would delete his warp quirk, and then we would overwhelm him, knock him out, and imprison him.

The Hero Association had wanted to strike fast, Knockout's battle against MechAnicAL was only the day before yesterday.

They wanted to send a message, to say that Vigilante were criminals and not heroes. And the best way to do that was to take out the Vigilante that everyone was talking about, Knockout.

He was quite the man, having taken out an entire organization that heroes and even villains couldn't defeat, all by himself, in a matter of months. I don't know what they had done to provoke his ire, but it was definitely a mistake on their part, the guy was a monster on information gathering. And he had the necessary power to back himself, he had the strength of a top ten hero, according to the Hero Association. He was currently the strongest Vigilante active in all of Japan.

So they had the excellent idea to try and capture him. In paper, the plan seemed almost perfect, as I could cut off his Warp Gate quirk and we would then overwhelm him. We needed to strike fast, as I could only erase his warp gate quirk for about sixty seconds. Still, we had numbers and surprise on our side.

But, as I was waiting in the shadows of an alley for Knockout to show up, I now knew that trying to ambush was going to be a mistake and that we were going to regret it. It was too late now, though, the Vigilante was about to arrive.

Ah, speak of the devil, he's there, slowly walking toward us with a couple of knocked out villains with him.

I mentally prepared myself for whatever was going to happen next and took a deep breath, there was no going back now.

Raiko's POV

I walked toward the narrow alley Eraserhead was hiding in, and I spotted a lot of heroes on rooftops and various other hiding spots, waiting to ambush me.

It was really the perfect place for an ambush; it was isolated, very dark, and had a lot of hiding spots nearby.

I already knew that they were going to ambush me today, and their strategy, since I had spied them. I also knew who each of the members of the ambush was, their real names and all the details of their quirks. Additionally, I had a finger near each of them. I had won before the battle had even started.

Today, I was going to prove that one shouldn't mess with me.

As I continued my walk, Eraserhead finally revealed himself and quickly activated his quirk, erasing my warp gate quirk.

Yes, it was as I had imagined, my original quirks allowed me to create entirely new quirk factors, so Eraserhead could only erase one of my quirks at the time. Eraserhead's quirk allowed him to temporarily erase the quirk factor of someone, but since I had multiple quirks factors, he could only erase one of my quirks.

While obviously maintaining eye contact to keep his quirk active, he spoke:

"Knockout, surrender, we have you surrounded and I erased your warp gate quirk, it'll only make it easier for everyone if you peacefully follow us."

Oh, it was time to begin the show. I chuckled, then answered:

"I don't think so…Hero name: Eraserhead, name: Shouta Aizawa, quirk: Erasure: can erase quirk by maintaining eye contact."

I snapped my fingers and I small explosion occurred on one of the rooftops near us, and someone was thrown in front of my feet by it. Because of the darkness, not much was seen of him, but he was evident that he was quite tall. With a small but powerful kick, said person was knocked out.

"Hero Name: Bind, name: Raiki Shugio, quirk: Ropes: can control ropes."

After I said that, the tension was palpable. It was obvious that the heroes were shocked and didn't know what to do, this wasn't in the plan. Still, I wasn't planning to give them time to figure things out.

Eraserhead's POV

After Knockout said my real name and my quirk, I was very troubled. If such information were to be revealed to the public, it could be disastrous for me and my career as a hero. But before I could think about it more, something else happened.

He snapped his fingers and a small explosion occurred on one of the rooftops. Shortly after, someone was thrown at his feet and he spoke again.

"Hero Name: Bind, name: Raiki Shugio, quirk: Ropes: can control ropes."

Before we had time to process what had just happened, he snapped his finger, and, after another explosion, another hero was thrown at his feet.

"Hero name: Echo, name Bruze Whayne, quirk: Bat: Can do anything a bat can do and more."

Without even needing to consult each other, we started to attack him, all at the same time. We were scared that we would suffer the same fate as the two that were going to suffer the same fate that the two that were currently unconscious on the ground.

28 vs 1, how could we lose? Unfortunately, it happened. Knockout simply dodged all of our attacks with apparent ease and supernatural speed and strength, but it was expected.

But what sealed the deal was that he continued to snap his fingers, and our fears became real, with each snap, there was another hero thrown to his feets, and all of his information was exposed. He started with the most troublesome, for him, heroes, like those that had quirks he could hardly defend himself against.

Slowly but surely, our numbers started to dwindle, as the snapped his fingers every ten seconds, while easily dodging or ignoring our attacks the rest of the time. Everything we did was pointless, the man was a monster. The worst was that the team was formed based on the best way to apprehend and capture him, but obviously, it wasn't working, we weren't even giving him a challenge.

Finally, after a couple of minutes of incessant fighting, there were only Knockout remaining and me, and I could see the mockery and amusement in his eye. His eyes were saying "That's all you can do, you didn't put a scratch on me, but look at you all…"

I don't know why he had saved me for last, I had released his quirk long ago, I couldn't maintain eye contact for seven minutes without blinking.

"Eraserhead. You know, I quite like you as a hero, you were always one of my models. And the few times we worked together were enjoyable. I hope you don't mind too much what I have done to your partners, there's no permanent damage, and you attacked me first, so…"

"Also, you can tell the Chief of Police and the Chairman of the Hero Association that if they really wish to talk to me so much that they send an entire team to capture me, I will gladly have a chat with them, although I would prefer if there were less fighting involved, I'm not a fan of hitting heroes after all. But this is a warning, I'll be less kind than this next time you go after me. I don't really enjoy being ambushed."

I was quite surprised by what he had just said that I was one his models. I had expected the second part, though.

After all, I wasn't a well-known hero, but it wasn't that surprising since we operated in a kind of similar way.

After his small speech, Knockout took out his phone, and? He took a selfie with the 29 knocked out heroes lined up on the ground. I didn't even try to stop him, as I knew that it was completely pointless.

After finishing taking pictures, he waved at me and exited through a warp gate, leaving me confused and astonished about what had happened in the last ten minutes.

I was quite ironic really, originally we intended to send a message, but in the end, Knockout had sent a much more powerful message to the heroes. He wasn't someone to mess with, whether you are a hero or a villain.

How was I going to explain this…This wasn't going to be a fun night.

A/N: Had a lot of fun writing this chapter. Everyone will learn that the MC isn't someone to triffle with, and this chapter proved it. It also revealed a bit more of the MC's strength, as his fight against MechAnicAl wasn't really representative of his strenght, because they were both a bad matchup against eachother, so they couldn't beign out there full power.

ALSO, I just want to explain/rant a little bit (cause im human you know) about why a gigantification quirk would be useful as well as give feedback on the other quirks you suggested.

First, the guy that suggested Hellflame (Endeavour's quirk), it would be really not effective for the mc, it doesn't combo well with his other quirks. But thanks for the suggestions.

Second, the Doflamingo fruit (Ito Ito no mi - One Piece): Well, it would be useful, very, but honnestly, it's a little OP, and it would be hard to write about, so I won't chose it. Though it would fit the MC's current fighting style and combo pretty well with his warp gates and explosive fingers, I have to admit. Thanks for the sugggestion though, and I'll maybe do something similar in the future, but it wouldn't be extremely overpowered, more of a support quirk.

Third, from the same guy as the Doflamingo Fruit, Kimimaro's Kekkei Genkai, which is bone manipulation. It's actually a really good idea, sound strong, and would combo well with his other quirks, namely steel body (it makes his bones steel) and hardened bones (though he still doesn't have that one but its coming soon xD ). And it would give him regeneration, which he really needs and will have no matter the quirks he chooses. I am seriously considering this one.

Fourth, Hana Hana no mi (Robin's devil fruit from one piece), well its also a really good idea and I quite like it, it would compliment all of his other quirks REALLY well (especilly with Kamikaze cells and his strength stockpiling) and would be fun to write about, so if you guys prefer this one, I don't really care. Also, it would be very good with bone manipulation, so….(:

But, the Gigantification quirk would allow him to control his size (not overall size, he could also gigantify individual members), would grant him a really good defense (because he would be freaking huge and steel body, so..), also, it would grant him A LOT of strenght, because well, he would be a giant (and with his strentgh stockpiling quirk, it would make a nice combo) and with Kamikaze cells, it would be brutal.

So guys, tell me what you would prefer, I don't really have a preference.

On one hand, he could have Bone manipulation and Hana Hana no mi (though it wouldn't be as powerful as in the anime cause the characters from One Piece are OP, same think with bone manipulation) BUT they would both still be very powerful.

On the other hand, I could continue with the Gigantification Quirk and other ehancing quirks mainly focusing on strength and defense.

Though, Bone Manipulation and Hana Hana no mi with his other quirks would make him creepy as f*ck.
