13 Chapter-12 : Truth

After the Quirk Apprehension Test, The rest of the day went pretty easy as it was just student orientation today, students were shown around the campus, different facilities, training grounds and many masterpieces of modern architecture and technology.

The day was pretty fun, I got to make acquaintances with many new people, Izuku seemed like the one student that took note of everything, just like Iida, but was more shy to start a conversation with anyone.

The sources of entertainment for the class were Kirishima and Tetsu, they had already developed friendship/rivalry, both their powers were alike, their styles were alike, heck, even their personalities were same.

Among the girls, only one who took initiative to talk to me was Mina, she looked like a more extrovert person, but she was a chatterbox, didn't stop once started on a topic.

Among the boys, only Kaminari and Kirishima along with Testsu talked with me, others were just looking at me or listening me talk to them.

Though I liked the three of them (not that way obviously), they didn't count the strength difference between us as a barrier like others, more like their though process never went that far away, they were all simple minded guys.

These guys had a certain pirate protagonist level airheadness.

But that was the thing that compelled me to make acquaintances with them, they were fun to talk with.

We were all given our timetable for classes, timetables for probable after school training, a diet plan personalised for everyone, Home workout and exercise regiments, and many more things related.

From calories to intake, to exercises needed, everything was customized for every student's need.

Seeing the timetable, I had to say, it was quite good and practical.

[06:50 AM :- reporting time]

[07:00 - 08:00 :- physical conditioning with power and flexibility training with the teacher]

[08:00 - 09:00 :- Martial arts training by multiple masters in different arts]

[09:00 - 09:20 :- Break]

[09:20 - 10:00 :- Language-1]

[10:00 - 10:40 :- Language-2]

[10:40 - 11:20 :- Mathematics]

[11:20 - 12:00 :- Lunch-1]

[12:00 - 12:40 :- social and historical studies]

[12:40 - 01:20 :- science]

[01:20 - 02:00 :- Quirk theory and Heroism]

[02:00 - 02:40 :- Lunch-2]

[02:40 - 04:00 :- Quirk training]

[04:00 PM :- Dispersal]

This was much different than what was shown in anime, but made sense, UA was not one of the best school for heroics for nothing.

There was pretty much everything you could ask for training.

From fight simulators to top quality training equipment.

Super density dumbells, quirk restraints, mechanical sparring partners, weaponry and much more, it was truly a haven for anyone who loved training, such as me.

We were shown demo of what we would be taught during the year, the hardwork we would need to do, expectations they had of us and the consequences if we do not meet those expectations.

But the result of that would be that much better, the future prospects of a UA graduate were truly extraordinary.

It was guaranteed that any UA graduate would be ranked pro hero of their generation, almost 60 of the top 100 in Japan were UA graduates.

One misconception that I had was also cleared, heroes too received salaries, pretty high actually, every pro hero had salary of about 5-6 million yen per year at least

Ranked heroes always had a salary of more than 10 million, which depended on their rankings.

Donations and other things like agencies were a total seperate deal that made alot of money.

The amount of money that government spent on keeping the hero system functional was truly staggering, Billions of yen were poured into supporting heroes every year.

That was also the reason why being a hero was a desired job.

We were also shown the harsh reality of being a hero.

Putting our lives on the line to save hundreds of others was a daily job.

Mortality rate of heroes was also pretty high, over 30% of heroes die in line of duty in the first decade of their service.

Over 20% of those who survive receive crippling injuries and have to stop being a hero.

That was excluding the heroes that are captured by villain organisations and are tortured for information, experimented upon, and are subjected to many things worse than death.

Especially for girls, they were shown what would be their fate if they were captured by villains, which was obviously r@pe or being sold off to foreign organisations.

The dark side of being a hero was shown and the option was presented.

Option for leaving the hero course was presented to all of us, along with a week of time to decide.

We were given the forms, to be signed by the parents/guardian and student, stating that they support the training techniques and style of UA and have no opposition whatsoever.

That was the end of the day, we were sent back home to contemplate on the topic, and come with our decision back on Monday.
