1 Chapter 1: Hard Work

No one is born equal in this world. This is fate particularly in this society where a certain event shook the whole world like a storm. It all began in the town of Qing Qing, China with the news of the birth of a mysterious "Luminescent baby". This was the trigger that created what was once extraordinary became ordinary.

In this day and age, 80% of the general population had been gifted by this extraordinary ability that people called "Quirks". This began a new era of superhuman society and with that a profession that people used to only dream of the era of.

But for unfortunate 20% receive nothing but ridicule, in the era where people can lift cars with one hand, create things out of nowhere, and many more abilities, the people without Quirks are treated as if they are handicapped.

This is experienced by one young boy whose childhood dream was to be a hero like the person he admired the most. It was the number one hero and the symbol of peace, All Might.

He smiled even in the face of danger giving hope to those watching. He's a man whose power was unmatched and made Villains shake in fear by his name alone.

The young boy named Midoriya Izuku was excited to discover his quirk and become a Hero, but heavens had another plan for him, he discovered that he was Quirkless, and the doctor told him that he should give up his dream to become a Hero. The Quirkless boy cried his heart out that day, his childhood dream was destroyed even before it started.

For the young boy life became hell, every time he got home would always have bruises and red eyes, and his mother Midoriya Inko was unable to do anything.

He would be verbally bullied as well as beaten and humiliated by his classmates only because he was Quirkless. He tried to cover all of this from his mother because he didn't want to worry her, but she noticed it, but she didn't know what to do, then she decided to search for any way to help her beloved son.

He noticed that and something clicked on him which made him decide to not sit around and be bullied anymore. He had grown that nothing would change his situation, so he had decided to make himself stronger even without a Quirk.

He started working out to make his body stronger and searched on the internet for methods of self-defense and combat, his mother noticed this and decided to take him to a dojo to learn how to fight.

It turns out that he was kind of a fighting prodigy, he could analyze the movements of his opponents and have a fast reaction speed, but he didn't let this get into his head, he was a Quirkless, so he was at disadvantage with the others, so he started training more than anyone else even if he was a genius.

For those years to come, he had taken lessons from many dojos to get better hone his battle sense and battle skill, he learned countless martial arts like Karate, Aikido, Tai Chi, Savate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, etc., but he always felt that he was missing something.

His mother had taken more jobs to pay for his training he felt guilty for troubling her, so his determination to get stronger become even more, he would become the number one Hero and make her proud. He also joined several tournaments and won first place in almost all of them and gave the prizes to his mother.

Eventually seeing his son succeed she took a risk and with the money she had she invested to open a restaurant that unexpectedly bloomed through the years.

Seeing that the economic situation on his family got better he felt less worried and guilty, soon he became 9 years old so his mother took him to the center of the city so he could choose a present for his birthday, he first thought of buying some books to amply his knowledge but suddenly hi felt something weird like if someone was calling him so he walked around and founded a small antique shop and the feeling got stronger so he decided to enter the shop.

When he entered the shop, he felt fascinated by all the things they had, there are many things from the pre-Quirk era like books, some devices, weapons, etc. But suddenly his eyes stayed fixed in a beautiful spear, the length of it was almost 2 meters (it's around 7 feet), it had a crescent moon-like blade beside the spearhead, but the most notable thing was its green jade color.

For a moment Izuku forget to breathe he didn't know why but he felt that he found a part missing part of himself, after all those years of training he always felt that something was missing, and seeing the spear he felt complete. He wanted the spear more than anything in the world except for martial arts and books he never wanted anything, so this feeling was weird for him.

He asked his mother for the spear, but she didn't feel comfortable giving her son a weapon but seeing her son's eyes shining like that she decided to buy him the spear with the condition to only use it when an adult is present, and he needed to take classes of Sōjutsu. Izuku accepted the condition even before she finished.

The old man of the antique shop gave Izuku a warm smile and gave him two books, one with breathing exercises and the other with the fundamentals of spear art. Inko wanted to pay for the books, but the old man insisted on gifting them to the young boy saying that it was weird in this era for a child to be interested in the fine art of the spear.

They left the shop after thanking the old man and Izuku had a wide and warm smile on his face feeling like from this day and onward he would get better at fighting, and he would be one step closer to becoming a Hero.

The next day he found a dojo where they teach Sōjutsu and for obvious reasons, he first needed to practice with a wooden spear, and little by little he felt like the spear started to become a part of himself.

And like that, the years get by, and he became more proficient with his spear like it was another limb, and unexpectedly the breathing exercises of the book that the old man gave him were amazing, he felt less tired every time exercise was fighting or doing exercise and also, he recovers his stamina faster than before.

His masters eventually recommended him to compete at the national level, he decided to enter the biggest martial arts tournament in Japan, "Road of Heaven", in this tournament martial artists of all Japan will compete.

There are two leagues in the Road of Heaven tournament. First is the Junior League, where martial artists in ages between 12-17 can join. And the second is the Senior League where a martial artist with the age of 18 and above can join.

There are only a few rules in the tournament. You can't use an attack that can cripple or kill your opponents, and you can't use your Quirk, but since Izuku is Quirkless this doesn't affect him.

Weapons are also permitted but hidden weapons are not, this excited Izuku because in the other tournaments that he participated he could only use a spear to face other spear users or use a specific weapon in other or martial art. Even if he likes to use his spear, he never got lazy training his martial arts.

Besides using a spear, he also learned to wield other weapons and he is very good with the bow and throwing knives, but by far it's better using a spear. Using the spear is like using another limb to him like it's natural.

He joined the Junior League using a spear.

He fought the diverse type of weapons and martial arts and had very tough fights but in the end, he won the championship becoming the youngest person to ever win the tournament, even if you can enter the tournament at the age of 12 its very weird when someone of that age reaches the quarter of finals.

He couldn't be happier, and his mom cried tears of joy when she saw me with the championship trophy and took him with his dojo friends and teacher to celebrate in her restaurant.

And the next two years he also participated and won becoming the tri-champion of the tournament an achievement that only a few people had made. Izuku gained quite a lot of fans by winning the tournament three times and gain quite a few nicknames like "The Spear Genius", "The Second Coming of Lü Bu" and "The Jade Spear Emperor".

The last one it's because of his green hair and green spear, he doesn't use the spear his mother brought him but uses a green wooden spear that is a hand made to look like his actual spear, if he uses his spear, he could damage very bad his opponents or even kill them, so he only uses it to practice with his teachers or training alone.

And now at the age of fourteen and last year at middle school. Izuku's life will change.
