8 Chapter 8

Izuku entered the front door of their apartment feeling exhausted. The written exam coupled with the eventful practical not a short while after, all his prior excitement mixed with a bit of nervousness, had all left him feeling utterly drained. Yet despite all this, he felt lighter than he had in a long time. Ever since eating the Yami Yami no Mi, the thought of the U.A. entrance exam had lingered in his mind. Now that the months of hellish preparations and the stress of fixing his previous shortcomings are no longer lingering in his mind.

Now, knowing he'd done his utmost, studied until the last, and spent every waking moment preparing, he found that the possibility of failure didn't scare him all that much. Based on the information he gathered there were 40 spots in the Hero course available. A few of them were reserved for the recommended students, which shouldn't matter much since he gathered the most Points in his Battle Ground. With seven Battle Grounds, there should be around 5 spots per Battleground available. So he was pretty sure he passed. All he could do now was wait.

Much more interesting is whether his first new friend Uraraka passed. He overheard she gathered 28 points, before the appearance of the zero Pointers. It will probably be a close call. Hopefully, she will land in the same class as him, after all, he prefers to already know someone there.

His mother appeared in the hallway before the door had even shut behind him.

He met her eyes for an instant. She seemed to be searching for any hint of how it might've gone by his face. "Izu… honey, how did it go?"

He smiled exhausted as he kicked his shoes off and dropped his bag by the entrance. "I did my best."

She returned the smile with a sharp nod; hands fisted at her side. "You'll get in, dear. I know you will!"

~One Week later, in Early March~

Izuku continued his life normally for the next few days, still regularly visiting the Gym since he needed to keep in shape as he was becoming a Hero no matter what, even if he didn't pass into U.A., there were still other Hero Courses he could apply to like Shiketsu High School.

Just as he entered their Apartment, he was greeted by his excited and nervous Mother who was already waiting for his return. "Izuku! It came. It's here!" she cried as she held out an envelope with the U.A. Symbol addressed to him.

Taking the envelope out of her hand, "I will take a look first." He said as he opened the door into his room, heading in with the letter, while his mother waited outside.

Sitting down at his desk, placing the envelope in front of him as he stared at it. "The moment of truth!" he muttered as he was excited and nervous to finally know the results. Once he opened the letter a small circular device fell out, automatically activating while a projection appeared in front of him. "1.. 2.. Test!"

"I AM HERE AS A PROJECTION!" resounded the booming voice of All Might through his Room, as the face of the top hero, appeared in the Projection, taking Izuku by surprise.

"All Might? Isn't this a letter from U.A.?" wondered Izuku excited to see his Idol and goal again in a message directly addressed to him.

"You are probably wondering why I am here!" stated All Might with a wide smile, "Well the reason I have been staying here lately is because I will be teaching at U.A., the day we met during the Sludge Villain Incident, was the exact day I signed the employment contract!"

'He remembers me…' fanboyed Izuku before he processed the words of All Might, 'Wait, All Might is going to be my Teacher!'

Suddenly, a hand appeared at the lower left of the screen, waving at All Might and telling him to hurry up.

"What? Get to the point? Whatever needs to be said can be said later. Hmph, fine," pouted All Might, "For your written portion, you aced it. You achieved the highest score! An impressive score for the General Studies, but that alone does not guarantee you a spot in the Hero Course! As for the practical, you achieved 65 points, until you decided to face that Zero Pointer. An impressive score that easily earned you a spot in the Hero Course!"

'I made it!' realized Izuku with excitement as his smile brightened, 'I got accepted into U.A.'

"But there is more!" interrupted All Mights voice the celebrating teen who once again turned to the projection, "The 65 points you earned are so-called Villain Points, they are gained by destroying the faux Villains in the area, but just this test would be to simple for a school like U.A.!" As soon as All Might a video showing Uraraka after the exam appeared on the projected Screen.

"Sorry, to bother you!" she said as she approached Present Mic, "Do you know Midoriya Izuku? The boy with the green curly hair, he has freckles! The one who manipulated the dark substance! Do you know who I mean?"

"As soon as she woke up, she approached us directly." Explained All Might "Would it be possible to share some of my points with him she said. She thought she cost you a better spot because you had to save her. And wanted to return the favor."

"You already impressed me under the bridge while under attack from a villain with your Bravery. Much more important than your powerful Quirk is your Bravery and instinctual willingness to help others. It is your actions that impressed others." explained All Might with a proud smile as Urarakas voice came from the Projection.

"That Boy, he saved my Life!" she admitted.

"Sorry Missy, you can't share Points. But I don't think you will need to." Calmed Present Mic her down in the recording.

"The purpose of the Zero Pointers is to reveal the true color of our participants. We would be a bad Hero Course if just accepted Students with powerful combat Quirks. And you already helped students where you could before they appeared. We want Heroes, people who are ready to do the right thing, even at the risk of their own life!" said All Might as he stretched his arms out widely, "So take your Rescue Points. Our Neutral Judges all agree! Izuku Midoriya, Rescue Points: 70. Total Score: 135 points. Meaning you not only passed, you took the top score!"

As All Might said that a Scoreboard appeared behind him in the projection, showing the results of other participants, including Uraraka. "And while we are at it, Uraraka Ochako: Total Score: 45 Points. Come on down, my boy. This is your Hero Academia!"

At that sentence, he burst out in tears. Overwhelmed by the happy feelings as he left his room. "Mom, I did it I got in!"

"Oh, Izuku I am so proud of you. I knew you could do it." Said his happy Mother as she also began crying tears of joy.

"That's not all. I got first place during the Exam." He admitted proudly.

For a moment his mother's mouth dropped, as she was astonished at how Izuku was able to catch up to others his age in just 10 months and even surpass them before she began smiling proudly once again. "We need to celebrate that! Let's visit that Restaurant with your favorite Katsudon tonight."
