Combat Training

The second day at U.A. started. In the morning we had English with Present Mic, Literature with Cementos, and Mathematics with Ectoplasm.

I understand the importance of English, but the reason we study Math and Literature in the hero course went over my head. It´s not like anyone from this class will go to university after this. I still paid attention as I need good grades to pass.

After the not so heroic lessons ended we headed to the cafeteria. The food is prepared by the cook hero Lunch Rush.

I sat with Kaminari and Kirishima and enjoyed the food. It is truly delicious. I´m not a picky eater, but the lunches we had in middle school were atrocious.

This is a welcome change. It is also very cheap to buy food here. Probably for the less privileged students.

Finally, in the afternoon, we have the hero lessons. The door swung open and All Might ran inside the classroom.

"I am coming through the door like a normal person." Said no normal person in the history of mankind. The class becomes excited at his entrance. "It´s All Might!" "He´s really a teacher here!"

He marches to the desk and announces. "I teach Hero Basic Training. It´s a subject where you learn how to be a hero. This is your most important subject so work hard."

"Let´s get right into it. Today we´ll be doing COMBAT TRAINING!" To be honest I prefer the quiet Aizawa. "To go with that are these!" Out of the wall slide compartments with numbers.

"Costumes based on your requests you sent in before school started. After you change gather in Ground Beta."

I took my costume and put it on. I don´t need special gear for my quirk so my costume is a white suit with a purple shirt underneath and a tie on which are Killer Queen´s skulls. Doesn´t help much, but it looks good and It is definitely better than the homo knight next to me.

The class comes to Ground Beta and is greeted by All Might. "They say the clothes make a man, boys, and girls. Be aware, that from now on you are heroes!"

I look around and some of the costumes are truly bizarre. We even have an exhibitionist among us.

"Now it´s time for the combat training!"

Iida immediately raises his hand. "Teacher! This is the battle center from the entrance exam. Will we be conducting urban battles?"

"No, we´re going to move ahead a few steps." I hope so. "Most of the time villains appear inside a building and the outdoor battles you see on TV are exceptions. The truly intelligent and dangerous villains hide in the shadows. For this class, you´ll be split into groups of two and fight 2-2 indoor battles."

All Might is then barraged by questions from my classmates. If they didn't ask we´d get to it faster.

"The teams will be split into heroes and villains. The villains have to defend a bomb inside the building and wait for the time to run out or catch the heroes. The heroes need to secure the bomb or catch the villains. The teams and opponents will be decided by lots."

"They´re being decided so randomly?" Yelled Iida. Midoriya answered him. "Pros often create teams with other heroes from different agencies, so maybe that´s why."

All Might then decides the teams. I am on the same team as Yaoyorozu. "The first battle will be team A versus team D. Everyone else, head towards the monitor room."

My team is C so I walk away with my classmates. I and my teammate planned a strategy. Later we arrived in the monitor room and on a huge projection we saw the fight between Midoriya and the explosion boy also known as Bakugo.

Bakugo ambushed Midoriya with an explosion and Midoriya swiftly dodged it while pushing Uraraka away. The sneak attack earned Bakugo quite a negative reaction from Kirishima.

Bakugo rushed at Midoriya again, but he got thrown over Midoriya´s back.

They don´t fight badly, but their lack of experience is obvious. Midoriya could´ve defeated Bakugo right there if he just knocked him out while he was laying on the ground.

In a real battle, honor is useless. I decided to ignore the projection and make a strategy. The battle ended in Midoriya´s victory. Uraraka secured the weapon.

It's our turn next and we´ll be fighting against team B which consists of Todoroki and Shoji. We are in the room with the nuclear weapon.

"As I understand it Todoroki has a quirk that creates ice. So he will try to freeze us. We´ll have to make an airtight seal or they´ll win."

"Yaoyorozu, let´s just barricade the doors and create traps. If that doesn't give us enough time I have a plan B."

"Alright, I´ll believe in you." I touch the bomb with Killer Queen´s hand. We block all the doors with steel plates, make some equipment and wait for the start.

"START!!" Yells All Might through our earpieces. After few seconds the temperature drops and with it ice appears on the floor and walls. It freezes us to the ground.

The door with its steel plating is destroyed under a chunk of ice. Todoroki slowly walks in. I know he is confident, but this is blind faith in what he is doing.

"You can move if you want, but the skin on your feet will come off, so you won´t be able to fight your best."

As he walks next to me I say. "Truly disappointing." "Huh?" Killer Queen throws a punch to his abdomen, instantly knocking him unconscious.

"I knew I should've made a cannon." Says Yaoyorozu. "Well, I thought he wouldn´t be so reckless. Help me with the ice, please."

"I´m on it." She creates a blowtorch and melts the ice away. "Great, Now where is Shoji?"

"With his hearing, It will be better to wait for the time to run out."

"Yeah, You´re right. Could you make me a chair?"

"*sigh* Here you go." A wooden chair comes into existence.

"Thank you very much"

The time ran out and we returned to the monitor room. The other battles weren´t that interesting as the quirks they used were pretty simple.

At the end of the lesson, we gathered where we started. "Good work everyone! We didn´t have any major injuries except Midoriya, either. You guys took this on seriously and did a good job for your first training." He shows a thumbs up. "Well then, I must review the results with young Midoriya. Change and return... to the classroom!" And with that statement, he runs off.

We went back to the classroom. "Even though you have such a simple quirk you are very strong."

"Yeah I joined a dojo when I was small so I knew a lot of martial arts." Says Ojiro.

"I learned Kendo when I was smaller." Added Tokoyami.

Iida runs over here yelling. "Tokoyami! The desk is not a chair! Get off immediately!"

"It´s not a big deal, is it?" Says Jiro.

Iida starts waving his hands around. "I can´t condone actions that disrespect the desks our upperclassmen once used."

"I don´t think our upperclassmen care about their desks."

"Wha--"

Kaminari and Uraraka walk in. "Hey, Uraraka wanna grab a bite to eat sometime? What do you like?"

"Huh, Deku, she didn't heal your injuries?" She runs away to Midoriya leaving Kaminari with a disappointed look on his face.

"It´s okay. Someday it will work out to you."

"Shut up" Answers the sad Kaminari. We said goodbye and went home.
