7 Chapter 7: Clash of Quirks
The sun hung high in the sky, casting a radiant glow over the U.A. High School training ground. The anticipation among the spectators, including students, and teachers was palpable. It was a clash of titans, a showdown between members of Class 1A.
"Let's now determine who will be facing off against each other!" The loud voice of All Might was heard as the Symbol of Peace started to draw lots that would determine who would be facing off against each other.
"FIRST BATTLE! TEAM B AGAINST TEAM E! TEAM B IS THE HEROES!" All Might said before looking at the 2 teams expecting an excited look on their faces. However, as he looked at them, he saw that only Katsuki Bakugao had a grin on his face. Meanwhile, Izuku Midoriya and his partner, Ochako Uraraka have a nervous expression. Then, there's Katsuki's partner, Tenya Iida who has his face covered so All Might can't see his face.
'Huh...' The number 1 hero thought as he saw how 2 of his students started staring at each other, with Katsuki giving the green-haired boy a scary grin and the latter giving the blonde boy a determined look. Seeing this, All Might shrugged it off before continuing to draw the lots.
"SECOND BATTLE! TEAM C AGAINST TEAM J! TEAM C IS THE HERO!" All Might declared while the 2 teams looked at each other. The cold eyes of a boy with split hair, Shoto Todoroki were seen as he looked at Team J which consisted of an invisible girl and a boy with a tail.
"THIRD BATTLE! TEAM I AGAINST TEAM D! TEAM I ARE THE HEROES!"
"FOURT BATTLE! TEAM F AGAINST TEAM G! TEAM F ARE THE HEROES!"
"AND FOR THE LAST BATTLE, A 2 AGAINST 3! TEAM A AGAINST TEAM H! TEAM H WILL BE THE VILLAINS!" As All Might declared the match-ups, Kazuki couldn't help but look at his enemy, surveying what they might face in the upcoming battle.
'So we're fighting Pikachu, Grape Boy, and an ear plug... Maybe I should show off a bit... After all, 7th place isn't good enough...' The white-haired sorcerer thought as their instructor spoke again.
"NOW LET'S BEGIN!" All Might declared, signalling the first 2 teams to prepare for battle while the rest will go to an observation room and watch.
In an area of ground B, the two teams prepared, ready for the signal that would unleash the fury of their quirks. On one side stood B, a duo of determined heroes-in-training led by the analytical mind of Izuku Midoriya. His teammate, Ochaco Uraraka looked at him with focused expressions, showing a sense of trust in his classmate while she listened to the green-haired boy's plan.
"Are you sure about that Deku-kun?" The Ochako asked his classmate who answered with a determined nod.
On the other hand, inside a building with a decoy bomb was Team E. It consists of Katsuki Bakugao and Tenya Iida, their dynamic quirks poised for action.
"Just stay there and protect the bomb with four eyes, I'll handle that damn nerd!" The explosion boy said, storming off before Tenya could even speak.
Soon, the air crackled with tension as their instructor finally gave the signal, starting the beginning of a clash that would test their physical and tactical prowess.
Izuku and Ochako wasted no time and immediately entered the building. Their eyes stared carefully at the walls and doors, preparing for an ambush noting Bakugo's aggressive personality.
The building soon became a canvas of strategic brilliance as like what Team Midoriya expected, the explosion boy came to ambush them alone. Izuku, with his keen intellect, directed the flow of the battle as he tried to control his classmate and bully while allowing his teammate to leave and look for the bomb.
Bakugo, fueled by explosive anger, surged forward with an onslaught of detonations, his eyes locked onto his targets. "DIE YOU DAMN NERD!" Words came out of his mouth as a large explosion aimed at the green-haired boy came out of his palms.
However, Izuku, who already expected it immediately jumped to the left, successfully dodging the large explosion before starting to come close and engage in physical combat.
With this, Bakugo's eyes flared with fiery anger. He gritted his teeth, refusing to be outmaneuvered by his classmate. Explosions soon echoed through the building as he propelled himself forward, an unstoppable force with a singular goal – victory.
The explosive boy unleashed a barrage of attacks, creating controlled detonations that disrupted the Midoriya's plan to engage in physical combat. Instead, Bakugao clashed with him, explosions meeting calculated dodges. The battleground became a spectacle of raw power and calculated finesse, a testament to the fierce battle between the two.
As the 2 continued battling it out with occasional shouts and explosions from the explosive boy, Ochaco, determined to tip the scales in her team's favour, finally located the bomb after a few minutes.
There he saw his other classmate and enemy, Tenya Iida, guarding the bomb and acting like a villain. As she witnessed his friend's acting she accidentally released a chuckle that revealed her presence to the boy.
"Come out, hero!" The dark-blue-haired boy shouted before the gravity hero revealed herself.
Iida, embodying the essence of speed, zigzagged across the room immediately after seeing his enemy. His quirk propelled him towards Ochako, who soon found herself evading a barrage of high-speed kicks and punches. The clash between Iida's speed and Uraraka's agility painted a dynamic spectacle.
As the 2 continued, the gravity girl soon found herself struggling. After all, she immediately entered the combat right after showing herself. To make things worse, she couldn't even use her quirk, unlike her opponent because of the preparations Tenya took.
'Why did he have to remove everything here except-' The girl thought to herself before suddenly being interrupted by a strong kick that sent her to the other side of the room.
"Give up hero! I've made your quirk useless in this situation. Furthermore, I can easily move the bomb with my speed. Our victory is sealed!" Tenya Iida said, completely acting as a true villain.
As the battle between the 2 continued, the training ground still echoed with thunderous roars of explosions. After a few more minutes, The battle between Team B and Team E reached its climax as both teams found themselves tested to their limits.
Izuku, Ochaco, Katsuki and Iida, driven by a shared determination to prove something, faced each other, however, were stuck in a stalemate. Due to this, the arena became an arena of spectacular clashes, each quirk resonating with power and purpose.
"1 minute remaining!" The words of their instructor echoed through the building, entering everyone's ears while one thought entered their mind.
'I need to finish this!'
In a moment of intense confrontation, the green-haired boy finally unleashed his move. Punching the air above him in full power, completely pushing away the explosive boy from the pressure and breaking all floors above him.
This attack broke the stalemate as Tenya Iida was caught off guard by the attack. After being distracted, he suddenly noticed that there were now many rubbles on their battlefield, and much worse, her enemy disappeared from his sight.
"Where-" The fast boy was about to say something, however, he cut himself off after noticing a few rubble falling on top of him.
After dodging the rubble, he finally realized it. However, it was too late as he saw his enemy hugging the decoy bomb.
'She hid herself on top of me and covered herself with rubbles so I won't see...' Tenya Iida thought, before letting a long breath out.
"The winner is... THE HEROES!" The loud voice of All Might was heard in the building right after Ochako touched the bomb. This caused a new wave of surprise to hit the explosive boy while a smile appeared on the injured Izuku's face.
'We won...' He thought as he looked back at the events of the battle.
As the battle concluded, the students bore witness to the aftermath of the clash of quirks. The dust settled, revealing Midoriya with an injured body, but an unyielding determination. Across from him, Bakugao stands tall with shock and disbelief written on his face.
'I lost... I lost to Deku...' These words echoed into the explosive boy's mouth as he just stood there, staring at the green-haired boy.
In the observation room.
Praise and criticism echoed in the room after All Might announced the hero's victory. Some are praising the heroes, on the other hand, some are criticizing the explosive boy's violent actions toward Izuku.
The chatter continued until both teams B and E were in the room. Now, silence enveloped it, unlike earlier where it was as lively and noisy as a festival.
"Can anyone tell me who that MVP is and why?" All Might asked, however, it was answered with silence.
Seeing this, Kazuki couldn't help but glance at Momo, who looked like she was in deep thought. 'She's not answering it?' The white-haired sorcerer thought to himself as confusion filled his head.
"Well, the MVP is Yound Iida!" All Might announced after seeing that no one seemed to know that answer before he started to explain the reason.
This course of events continued 3 more times for the next 3 battles. Praise and chatter, then discussion about the battle. Suddenly, it was now the last battle. The battle that most of the students have been waiting for, A 2 vs 3.
"Good luck Kazubro!" Kirishima cheerfully said as his white-haired friend was about to leave, which was answered with a nod and a smile.
'Why can't I just portal there?' This thought entered the white-haired boy's mind as he was forced by their instructor to walk to the designated building with his teammate and enemy.
"You guys can go ahead, we plan to walk slowly and make a plan." The voice of Kyoka Jiro was heard before the 3 students slowed down. Leaving the white-haired sorcerer alone with her classmate, Yaoyorozu Momo.
As the 2 walked alone, both of them stayed silent resulting in an awkward atmosphere between the 2. Kazuki however, just ignored it and planned for what he will be doing during the upcoming battle.
'Hmmm'
'What should I show today...'
''How should I grab their attention...'
'Should I finish it the moment All Might says start?'
'I wonder if they can even last a minute...'
Many thoughts entered his mind as he planned for the battle to come. This, however, ended abruptly as one thought entered.
'It seems I have a bigger problem at hand...' Kazuki thought before stopping on his track after he noticed that her teammate suddenly stopped.
"I'm assuming you noticed?" Kazuki thought while turning around and facing her teammate. As he spoke these words, he noticed the reluctant eyes of her teammate. Seeing this, Kazuki activated his quirk, chanelling the energy in his palms and creating a sphere that slowly covered them. "No one can hear us now, Miss Everything..." Kazuki said.
"What happened? You're supposed to be dead... and... Why are you going by Kazuki Tanaka now? What happened to you Stephen..." The shaky voice of Momo Yaurorozu was heard as she looked at Kazuki with a sad and teary look.
