5 U.A. Entrance Exam 1/2

-Kageyama P.O.V-

'Looks like the exam is just the same as in the anime. The exam have two parts, a written test and practical test which is more important than the written test.' Kageyama thought to himself as he sit down in a classroom with other students taking the written test.

They give the participants about two hours to finish the test. He already finished the test in an hour he so decided to observe the others and see if he can find someone he know from the anime in his class. There was like hundreds of the participants in this exam so they split them into several groups.

'Hmmm... that orange haired girl is from the class B, what's her quirk again... ah, yes she can make her fists bigger. Hmmm... that's the guy who can turn his skin into iron. Who else is here... oh, Tokoyami is here too. Dark Shadow huh... I'm curious now, I wonder if I can influence or control his Dark Shadow in some way. Now, that's something I need to find out.' Kageyama thought as he looked at Tokoyami sitting in the front of the class.

Thinking about Dark Shadow also remind him of the adventure he has in the dungeon few months ago.

-Flashback-

[In the Dungeon]

As soon as he walked through the portal, Kageyama raise his guard and quickly his shadow manifest into a pair of boots and gloves made out of his shadow. While his other parts of his body also covered up by a layer of shadow, the shadow he used for his gloves and boots is much more denser than the other parts of his body. He called this technique 'Shadow Cloak'.

(My naming sense 🤦🏻‍♂️... Just imagine whatever name you guys want... and the technique is inspired by Luck Voltia from Black Clover, just imagine it in shadow instead of electric.)

He developed this technique for the defensive and offensive purpose. He pour so many effort to create this technique since he's 9 years old and to manifest just one part of the armor already needs a lot of practice. He still practices this technique everyday so he can use it more efficiently. Now, he could use the technique easily, but he need some kind of challenge to push himself so that he could stabilize and perfect this technique, and this dungeon is a perfect opportunity for him to perfect many of his techniques he has created so far.

Even though most of his techniques are cheap copy from animes and manga from his previous life, all of them are created from scratch and he had gone through a lot trials and errors just to create even one of them.

He wasn't someone who was reincarnated and magically reborn with some kind of hidden talent in fighting or creating battle techniques in a second or some kind of crazy battle instinct and he was definitely not like other reincarnated people who had many kinds of cheats that helped them in their lives.

All of the strength he has today are from his blood, sweat and tears for years. He even goes deep into a jungle in the middle of nowhere to develop his instincts naturally by surviving in there with all kind of predators for months without using his quirk. But that's a story for another time.

Back to the dungeon, he didn't know what kind of things to expect from the dungeon because the note said it would be a '100 floors dungeon' and that was it. He wasn't sure what kind of challenge awaited him as the note also didn't mention anything about enemies or anything like that.

The first thing that he saw after he went through the portal was a long hallway that's decorated with torchs hanging on the both sides of the walls. He continued to walk vigilantly and at the end of the hallway there is a large door. "So, this must be door leading to the first floor." He said to himself as he stared at the door.

He take a few deep breath and slowly push the door open while readying his shadow but what he didn't expect there's a faint whispering voices inside his head that said 'Obstacle courses... challenges... opportunities..' he became confused when he heard a voice inside his head and thought that it must be something similar to a guide for the dungeon.

"Huh, obstacle courses? I thought I'm here to gather up my army." he said to himself. He doesn't expect someone to reply his question but then the faint whispering came back and said 'Training.. harder.. become stronger...'

"Okay... some obstacle courses, how hard it can be?"

He said to himself. He step into the first floor confidently.

First floor...

Fifth floor...

Tenth floor...

15th floor..

20th floor...

-Timeskip, after completing 30th floor-

Right now, Kageyama is leaning against the wall in front of the door leading to the 31th floor. His clothes are full of dirt and ripped out, there's are also some holes on the clothes here and there. There are many scars on his hands and legs but mostly on his hands. Fortunately there's only scars and some scratches, there's no heavy injury and fracture. To sum it up, he looks like the beggars on the streets.

His face that full of confidence when he's in first floor now is haggard and full of sweats. He can't help but shouting his complain "Easy my ass! Those obstacle courses must be used for training by some battle junkies right?!!! I like challenges too but I'm not a maniac!! And also what's wrong with that maze in 20th floor, they're very confusing and the maze also keep changing on it's own. Secondly, what is up with that giant rock golem that is always after me inside that maze, is it actually a dog or a rock golem? It's always know my location even though I already erase my presence to the maximum, I almost died in there a few times because of it..." and he continued to rant about the maze and rock golem for a few minutes.

After he calmed down from his ranting session, he continued "Sigh... even though I don't have any shadows in my army yet, the obstacle course and challenges are very beneficial as well, my sensing skills have become stronger, I can completely erase my presence now, my instincts are kicking in faster and most importantly the majority of my techniques are perfected. I just need to test them in battle and I'm ready to go." He looked at the door leading to the 31st floor and said sadly while pouting "I wish there was something I could kill in there... I'm tired of the obstacle course, I want to gather my shadow army..."

...

"Well, I should probably eat something and sleep after this, I need to save up my energy and from what I gathered so far, the hallways between the floors is some kind of safe places so I can rest here for a while." said Kageyama as he set up a tent and start to make himself a cup of ramen that he kept inside his shadow and sleep after that.

...

After done all the necessary preparation, Kageyama manifest his 'Shadow Cloak' again, but this time his gloves and boots are much more refined and the other parts of his body are covered up with a dense layer of shadow, there's also some kind of shadow aura warping around his entire body that amplified his defense and make it more powerful.

"All right then, here we go!" he said as he pushed the door and entered the 31st floor.

As soon as he passed the door, his instincts kicked in and he rolled to the left to avoid a claw that almost strikes him in the face. He looks at his opponent and saw a huge silver wolf and it's already prepared to pounce on him again.

Kageyama evade the incoming claw once again and kick the wolf head making it retreat back for a few meter. He brought his hand up and a dome of shadow rise up under the wolf trapped it inside. "Die" he said while clenching his fist, after that spikes comes out from inside the dome from many different direction and impale the wolf thus killing it.

Kageyama sense went off again, he turned around and saw about a dozen wolves come out from the dark ready to attack him.

"Awoooooooooo!!!." x12

As Kageyama preparing to fight the wolves, the whispering voice came again and it's said something that makes him smile widely 'kill enemies....gather army'.

"Let's go!!!" as soon as he heard the whisper, he roars and rush excitedly towards the wolves as his shadow also spread out in excitement reflecting his emotions.

-10 minutes later-

Right now, Kageyama is inspecting the wolves corpses because he saw something that definitely different from the animals corpses that he killed inside the jungle for his survival training. He saw a bunch of shadow revolving around the wolves corpses.

"Hmmm...so are these their souls? I can see it now, that's mean I really do have the authority over death now. Okay then, how should I do this..." Kageyama said to himself as he looked at the all the wolves corpses.

After thinking for a minute, he decides to trust his instincts. He takes a deep breath and activate his quirk, spreading his own shadow and cover up the corpses or more accurately the souls. After that, he command them "Arise."

His shadow start to devour the souls aggressively and after a while, 13 shadow wolves rise up from the shadow and immediately bow towards him.

Kageyama feels happy and excited right now because his first shadow extractions is a success and looking at the shadow wolves bowing at him make him feels something else is awakening inside him. It's like a locked dark past of him want to free itself.

He hurriedly calmed down, afraid that something else inside him might awaken.

"Enter my shadow." Kageyama command and they obeyed him. He turned around and looks at the path ahead of him that filled with howls of the wolves.

"Let's do this!" he run full speed ahead feeling excitement bubbling up inside him as he thought about fighting all of the monsters inside this dungeon and turn them into his army afterwards.

-End of Flashback-

Kageyama startled as he heard the bell ringing signaling the end of the written exam.

"All right everyone, you can leave your test paper on the desk. Leave the classroom now and go to the auditorium. There's gonna be an explanation about the practical exam." said a random examiner.

As Kageyama prepare to leave like the others, he hears someone talking to him. "Excuse me, may I know your name?"

"Hmmm..?" Kageyama looks up and saw Tokoyami Fumikage standing in front of him. 'Oh, his Dark Shadow must sense something particular about my shadow or maybe he can feel my army as they're also shadows too?'

"Yeah sure, my name is Takashi Kageyama. You can just call me Kageyama. What's your name? And how can I help you?" Kageyama asked back in a calm manner. He can guess a few reasons why Tokoyami started a conversation with him so he just play along with him.

"My name is Tokoyami Fumikage and this is my quirk, Dark Shadow" he introduce himself and Dark Shadow as he materialize beside Tokoyami. "Hey!" Dark Shadow also greeted Kageyama while looking at him curiously.

"Are you by any chance have a shadow type quirk like me too? Dark Shadow sense a large amount of shadows energy emanating from you. He was very curious about this and asked me to talk to you." He replied somewhat embarrassed as Dark Shadow just forced him to talk a stranger and asked them about their quirk immediately after greetings.

"Oh... he is curious?" said Kageyama as he activate his quirk. His eyes glowed purple and his shadow stir a bit as a shadow snake rise up. The snake then climb up Kageyama's body and rested on his shoulder while hissing at Tokoyami.

"My quirk basically give me full control of my shadow and nearby shadow, I can manipulate them in anyway as I please." said Kageyama 'of cource, there's more to it' is left unsaid.

"You're pretty strong Tokoyami-kun... and those darkness that locked up inside you is quite fascinating. Does this guy also entered some kind of berserk mode when you're in dark environment?" Kageyama continued saying as he sense Tokoyami's physique and the connection he has with Dark Shadow. He already knew about their condition but seeing them face to face was a new experience for him.

"Ah, yes that's right. Dark Shadow does have a berserk state. How do you know about it?!" said Tokoyami amazed by Kageyama's accurate statement.

"Hahaha... that's just a wild guess. Oh yeah, let's get going too, we need to go the auditorium for the next exam. We can chat while walking." said Kageyama as he leaves the classroom leaving Tokoyami and Dark Shadow behind.

-Tokoyomi and Dark Shadow P.O.V-

"That guy is lying, or more like he's hiding something much more bigger about his quirk, be careful around him, Tokoyami." said Dark Shadow to Tokoyami before he dematerialize himself.

"What do you mean by that, he seems like a good guy to me and he's here to become hero right? Why do I need to be careful around him?" said Tokoyami confused hearing Dark Shadow's words about Kageyama.

He walked out of the classroom as well following Kageyama then he immediately sense something off from Kageyama's shadow and when he saw what it was, he was instantly frozen.

Because when he stared at Kageyama's shadow, it was like there were hundreds pairs of eyes opened up inside his shadow and staring right back at him.

When he blinked a few times and saw that Kageyama's shadow had turned normal. He shook his head and muttered "Is it just my imagination just now...or is Dark Shadow is right..?"

He shook his head again and calmed down because he can think about all of this after the exam. He needs to focus on the exam rather than thinking about useless things.

He immediately caught up with Kageyama and they chatted about their training routine and quirks as they're walked towards the auditorium.

Tokoyami didn't see the small smirk on Kageyama's face because he was too engrossed chatting with Kageyama about his quirk.

How about this? I tried my best for this and already squeeze all the the ideas I can think of from my smol brain.

I want to make Mc and Tokoyami as something like the best duo combo in the class.
