Chapter 17 [WARNING DARK DARK DARK WARNING]

Shoto Todoroki was in his training room, constantly creating and melting ice

He wanted to get stronger, no. He NEEDED to get stronger!

He didn't want to feel powerless like during the Team Battles ever again.

He would get stronger and show it to all his class mates, He will show it to Izuku that he was strong, He would show his father that He can be a great hero, and finally He will show himself, That he is worthy of The Hero title.

Meanwhile in another training room was Tanjiro Kamado... He was angry, disappointed and envious.

He was angry at himself for almost making All Might lose the last bits of his power for needing to protect him, he was Disappointed for needing to be protected.

He was also angry at All Might for giving him that sorry look, during the attack.

He was envious of Izuku, for having the guts and power to jump in danger and protect others without a second thought. He was envious and angry that even with power like his own he had to be protected and saved by his *peer*, by his classmate.

Whilst Tanjiro was trapped in his thoughts during training, Toshinori Yagi was watching him through the half closed door.

Toshinori watched the different emotions clouding the young man's face, he felt sorry and wanted to encourage him or do something but he couldn't think of much.

Most importantly he didn't want young Nezuko to see her brother like this when she gets back home.

...

Toshinori had been taking care of the two for a long time now, they were basically like a family. When he first saw the kids, Tanjiro had the same face as he had now, but before he tried to hide it with the best of his ability... he didn't want to show his little sister how scared and angry he was... he didn't want her to see his sadness or she would have suffered like him... he didn't want little Nezuko to start blaming herself and mostly he didn't want to tell her what happened during *that day*, so she wouldn't try to become a hero and reveal her quirk.

**flash back**

It was a fine day, Tanjiro was taking his little sister home after kindergarten.

They had bought ice cream with their pocket change and were enjoying their walk home... when suddenly getting near their small house, they heard sirens, shouts and the sound of fire crackling.

Tanjiro got worried, he wanted to hurry back home.

...

Tanjiro ran with Nezuko following close behind, they were only a few blocks away when he saw his home, half destroyed and other half on fire. what was left behind was a crater and pieces of furniture.

Then Tanjiro saw him, his favorite hero All Might, he was being checked on by medics whilst the Police were talking to him...

But there was something wrong, very wrong...

The mighty image of the untouchable hero was no more, All Might was covered in blood, his mouth was dripping blood without stopping, his unbreakable costume was torn and covered with blood, but most importantly his face was that of a man who had gone through hell...

Tanjiro slowly made his way through the crowd, whilst keeping his sister behind him, making sure that if there was something a child shouldn't see than she wouldn't be able to see it.

The two small children made their way through the ocean of people, and finally made their way to the police line... there he saw it....

He saw his parents' bodies, his mother had her head and hands cut off. His father bisected with burn marks all over his body... the medics quickly covered the newly discovered bodies, but he still managed to have a look, and he saw that his father had been tortured... his fingers were crushed, and his mothers legs were mashed.

Tanjiro fell to his knees, whilst hugging her sister so she wouldn't be able to move her head. He cried but without making a sound... he silently begged any god that was out there to make him wake up from this cursed dream...

He woke up

He woke up not to a world filled with happiness, but to the world that he wanted to call a cursed dream, he woke up to a nightmare.

A few weeks ago, All might fought his nemesis and managed to land a devastating blow, crippling the man... but he had used all of his power and energy thus being too slow to catch him before he jumped through the portal.

After the fight AFO had been quiet, All Might thought he had finally managed to do something good for the world, when weeks later it was found out that AFO was using his goons to search throughout Japan for a healing quirk...

That's when they found about the Kamado family, his goons found out that a child from the Kamado family was reported to posses a regeneration/healing quirk, it had mystical properties of both healing and harming the recipients that the quirk association called it "Demon Blood".

And right now, AFO was in the Kamado household, torturing a father and a mother, to get information about their children's whereabouts, why? because the information of healing/regeneration quirk (other *powerful* quirks) wielders were kept at maximum security... thankfully Shigaraki(AFO) managed to get pieces of information about the family.

Right when the father was going to give up the information to Shigaraki, who was being impatient... as any man who had both his legs missing as well as an eye and a hand... was leaning in close to the father to get the information, when the old frail man spit in his face.

At that moment A man came crashing through the wall, but he was a second too late...

Before the spit could even get near his face, AFO unleashed his spikes that were letting him move around upon the couple, slicing up the wife before the husband was bisected top to bottom...

All Might witnessing this scene was lost in anger for the second time in his life, the first one was when his teacher Nana Shimura died and now the second for being late, for not being strong enough to beat AFO and for quitting Hero work without fully stopping his nemesis.

With blind rage All Might fought Shigaraki destroying the now burning home to pieces in the process.

after the *Fight*, All Might was all beat up both physically and mentally, he was being checked by the medics when he spotted them... two children kneeling on the ground and silently crying whilst hugging each other.

At that moment he wanted to say sorry, he wanted to scream to high heavens about how sorry he was for his mistakes. but that would change nothing

he decided to adopt the children, both to hide them from Shigaraki and to somehow make it upto them, for letting his problems become their pain.
