Chapter 11 : A little Time skip

General POV

Center Lusaka

CRUSH!!

Chimwemwe had just dropped three heavy metal boxes he was lifting as he finished training his limit in his magnetic side of his quirk. It's been a year since he was appointed in the titian program and it gave him more ground to explore his quirk. He had grown through some physical changes not just getting taller but his teeth have become more like his aunt and grandma's not just that but eyes were more animalistic.

"These kids truly are amazing." A male scientist said recording Chimwemwe's data as he finished l as he looked at the other children's records.

The looked at the oldest boy how had made five large root grow from the ground and restrained a couple of mannikins this was Vincent Banda and his quirk let him seeds. Next was the oldest girl was swimming in a large pool at high speed this was Daniella Pangiwa and she had a mutant which turned her in into a mermaid. They watched Suiw turn a coat some steel balls in diamond, and finally the watched the youngest and as he his gear eyes turned and golden lines morphed around his body and he struck a punching bag this was Lusungu Nkhoma.

All of them we just going through their scheduled experiment time while the scientists record their progress. So far everything was going okay but the sectioned had ended for today and it was time for them to their homes. The children changed into their causal clothes and were walking to the exit.

"So, guys how were all your tests going?" Danella asked her fellow pillars as she stretching a bit.

"They just keep getting tougher and tougher. The amount of carbon percentages in the objects they gave me today was like 20% less than yesterday!" Suiw fake pouted causing three out of four of them to chuckle.

"Oh, don't be so lazy Suiw." Danella nudged her a bit.

"Humph say that after your basically supposed to know chemistry for your quirk."

"Sounds like an excuse." Chimwemwe lightly joke as he was just making some iron sand orbit around his head making a ring of sorts and

Lusungu was just looking at it in awe.

"Your so mean Chicky." She pouted a bit and playfully nudged him a bit.

"What enough about me what about you Vincent how your training coming along?" Suiw asked the at the plant user as he drank some water.

"Am improving the time it takes to grow my plants but it's still not good enough." Vincent signed looking at his tree like arms.

"Come on Vin you've approved a lot this past year like the rest of us." Danella said patting his back but he scoffed not at her but at his progress.

"Well, if am going to became a powerful hero in the future I have to better." He finished his bottle of water.

"Geez man you train like your going run the fade with All Might." Chimwemwe said as he made a little image of all might through the sand. This was just a way to make his training in electro magnets a little more fun for himself.

"Psht there's no one that's ever going to be a match for All Might. But some of us do want do actually something with our quirks." Vincent threw a little jab at Chimwemwe which earned him a lit electrical shock. "Argh!"

"Sorry my quirk slipped." Chimwemwe said smugly giving Vincent the middle finger really ticking Vincent off and he glared at Chimwemwe and was about to retaliate.

"Anyway, what about you Lusungu?" Danella asked the youngest of them and walked closer to Vincent to keep him from getting physical.

"O-oh I getting used to my first gear change but it still hurts my body a bunch." Lusungu said a little shyly.

"Speaking of which hey Danellla what was that thing I saw you doing to the water cup just a few minutes ago?" Chimwemwe asked the mermaid.

"Oh, it was application of my quirk. They said that am able to not only control water but also like purify it separating all toxic substances in it."

"So where do the toxic substances go after you remove them."

"Oh well for now after I separate, they still have a physical form so I can just throw it away, keep it somewhere or burn it." Chimwemwe nodded at her explanation on to of basically being a mermaid and water manipulation she could do that as well take about a package deal.

"Huh dope." He complimented her making her smile. They got to the exit we're waiting by the steps of the building waiting for their rides.

"Ha~ Its good to be outside." Suiw took in the flesh air and stretched a bit. "Speaking Chimwemwe can I ride with you today?" Suiw asked him.

"Well yeah no problem but why isn't your mom, dad or driver coming to pick you up?"

"Well, um I just wanted to go with you today." She looked away from him a little which caused Danella to look in a little glee.

"Cool with me but did you at least tell your parents about this?" She nodded. "Well, all right." He had the iron sand morphed into a thumbs up.

"New you couldn't say no to me." She struck a little pose while he just shrugged his shoulder.

"Hey Chimwemwe aren't you tried from overusing you quirk." Lusungu asked as he just watched the iron sand into a little into a little cat. 'Cool!'

"Not really but your kind of on to something thou that's enough showing off for today." He put the iron sand away in a little flask in his bag. "My guy you're staring is becoming a little sus." He told Vincent how was glaring at him a little and grew a tick mark.

Before he could reply though Shupiwa come into view. She didn't look like she aged that much in the past years maybe because of her quirk or the fact like the rest of her family she kept in shape. She wore a traditional print dress and heels.

"Hey Chicky kitty ready to go?" She asked him while she picked him up using her tail like his aunt.

"I can let the Chicky nick name slide but not to that extent now ago put me down. Oh and Suiw needs a ride" He said a little embarrassed and smirked showing off her sharp teeth and pitched his cheeks a little. She noticed the other kids and waved at them and they all waved back but Danella seemed to a little afraid of her and instinctively took a little step back. She had done this with Minerva as well the first time she saw the cheetah woman.

'Oh the girl little scared of me my be just instinct.' Shupiwe though a little disheartened as she didn't like it when people especially children get intimidated by her, she than turned her attention towards Suiw. "Well hello Suiw and of course you can come with us come on." She said and Suiw smiled brightly.

"Thank you Mrs. Caçar." She said as the three went off leaving the three other pillars.

"So, um is everyone in his family basically a hunter cat but him." Vincent questioned as he so them walk of and Danelle shivered.

"Um don't Chimwemwe's eyes look like a cat's plus he has fangs too?" Lusungu tilted his head.

Next day

Monday

Suiw Sosala was always grateful for the life she had great parents how loved her, rich life style and was a labeled she was a decently good girl though she was a little spoiled it wasn't the core aspect of her personality. When she entered nursery school, she instantly become popular in the school and one day she met somewhat chubby boy with an elephant head how tried to help a boy another from being beaten by a hero vs villain game going too far but it back fired on him and he received the beating.

She then stepped in and told the other kids to leave him alone which they listened to and after that she tried to make him feel better by offering him a cookie. She had to admit she didn't step in because she wanted to feel like a hero as heroes were extremely cool, she had spent majority of time with her momma and she was more interested in fashion than heroes as she was more influenced by her. But she remembered how her momma had seemed to want to help mutant type quirk users more though her own means and maybe that's why she stepped in to help Matthew that same day she had met Matthew's friend by the name Chimwemwe.

After a little while she became friends with the two boys not to say she didn't have friends but at first, they were more of school friends. Matthew was a very kind boy but he often got shy and nervous around her, he many kids loved heroes and wanted to be one badly.

Chimwemwe was very quiet and acted more grown up than most kids their ages and he was very smart, he also seemed to ignore her most of the times like she was some nuisance. It was the first time anyone had acted like that towards her and it did fly well with her so she often got in his face or annoy him to get his attention. Then her momma meet his aunt and she remembered and become friends.

Then her quirk awakened and she found she could basically make diamonds from anything that had enough carbon in which was similar to her momma but more powerful. The next day Chimwemwe didn't come to school and she really missed having him around not that she minded being around Matthew she was technically friends with him before Chimwemwe but it just felt off with him not around. When she saw him at the party her momma invited them to, she was relived.

Then things went a downhill for a bit. First, they we're kidnapped by some villains and she was scared beyond belief she really hoped that the heroes will recuse them. When she opened her eyes and so her friend on the floor injured, she didn't know what to do and so she fired one of her diamonds in reflex and hit stabbed the villain's eye and the sight made her unwell. Before he could get violent with her Chimwemwe woke up and shot the man with lightning next his aunt recued us though she admitted she was terrified of her do to her bloody sight and it wasn't hers but also, she felt safe as twisted as it sounded.

When was then returned to her family, though the memories of that day still haunted her for a while so much she slept in her parents' bed for a while and had to go to they had to pay for a good therapist? Then her dad began sending special quirk tutors as my diamonds mostly don't last long so he said that her git them for her to produce harder better ones. She might have been young but she knew something was going on as her dad looked like he wanted to cry whenever he took a diamond after weeks of hard training to produce one and he said 'am sorry.'

She had gotten closer to Chimwemwe over the years but they were not attached to the hip as she had other friends as they entered primary school. But then her got her into a program that would push her quirk further and even brought up the idea of her being a proper hero. Her mom was angry and the two had a fight and when she first went to the program with them, she met three other kids there. Some scientists had said something to her which got her less mad at her dad but there was a little tension for a little while but they were okay now.

She had met the other pillars. Vincent was a boy who trained extremely hard and had a really strong drive to hero not just any hero but the top in the country and he seemed to have a slight dislike towards Chimwemwe Suiw saw some jealousy in his eyes but she had no idea why though but seemed alright with her and Lusungu but seemed a little soft when it came to Daniella.

Daniella was a kind of cool like an older sister and also wanted to be a hero but for her own reasons with her beautiful mermaid quirk she wondered if she would be her model if she asked one day.

Lusungu was a little bit of a shy kid a but he was extremely sweet and also wanted to be hero like the rest. She got along with him as she found him a little adorable but he seemed to have an admiration towards Chimwemwe over the past year.

Right now, she was in her class in saint Terresa in a class she was recently sharing with Chimwemwe this year. They were just in history class and were talking about the social and cultural shift after the war and how each country had their own number of tribes. It really amazed her that so many tribes existed when each country was separated 72 in Zambia, 12 in Malawi and like over 120 in Tanzania. They didn't go in deeper due to it being more secondary work in social studies.

"Alright class we will have to cut the class short as we have a special guest wanting to speak to you in the hall today. The number three hero in Nyasaland Shadow Shaman." The said this the class screamed in excitement well except for Chimwemwe who just seemed confused and Suiw who didn't scream but was still exited. "Now let's all go." He directed them. As they walked the other classes in joined them.

"Hey what do think the number two hero wants to talk to us about?" Suiw asked Chimwemwe as she walked beside him.

"Not a clue maybe it's a just a lecture to inspire us to become heroes or something." He scratched his cheek.

"Well, we all know you could use it~."

"And you could use some tape strapped to that big mouth of yours but you don't hear me complaining."

"'GASP' Oh how could you say that to a girl who is particular your best friend!" She said dramatically putting her hand on her mouth like lady. He just rolled eyes and chuckled in response.

The pair didn't notice a certain elephant boy watching them with a sad look on his face.

At the assembly hall

"Hey Suiw you seen Matthew anywhere?" Chimwemwe asked the diamond user sitting beside him.

"No, I haven't seen him. Now that I think about it, I haven't been seeing much lately." Suiw scratched her head a bit.

Before the conversation could continue shadowy pillar emerged the center stage formed and a red printed cape came out of it and when it flicked and a tall lean African man come out of it. He his eyes were deep green and hi hair was short, he wore a red printed cloak, black skin tight suit showing off his muscles a bit with patterns on it, beads around his neck, a staff on his right hand.

"Greeting's children of Teressa School." His voice was very deep and calm. "It's a pleasure to be here speaking with you all I am Shadow Shaman but am sure most of you already knew that." Then two large shadowy birds formed on both sides of his body. But they weren't regular a bird though the students looked in awe at the quirk presentation.

"Am not much of a talker as that's my colleague Inkosi's specialty but I'll keep this brief. I personally requested to have this little meeting here in this school because I see a lot of potential in these halls. I can tell that a lot of you children here have amazing quirks." Chimwemwe began to tune out his speech not because he wasn't interested but because he didn't get much sleep last night as he got carried away playing online games last night plus, he didn't fall asleep during class due to so he was already fighting a losing battle.

He had fallen asleep and after sometime Suiw had noticed he was already gone. She chuckled at her friend's little cat nap. She turned her attention back to Shadow Shaman as he was about to finish his speech. He had made some little shadowy creatures to keep their attention but overall, it was about thirty minutes long short but he did seem to have inspired everyone to be heroes even more as they cheered after the presentation was done.

'Well almost everyone.' She thought as Chimwemwe jolted awake as everyone started cheering and clapping.

The heroes visit was over and it was time for the kids to go home. Chimwemwe was just looking at his phone as he noticed a message from his Auntie.

"Ndola what's she doing in Ndola?" He whispered to himself.

With Minerva

Minerva was currently in Ndola waiting for a certain someone to arrive. She was a freelancer yes, her job involved using her high speed, agility and reflexes to do various jobs a person hired her to do. Her most common jobs were delivery services as she was incredibly fast far surpassing any car around so her services were highly required even medical deliveries, next was pacing deals since thanks to her speed and strength she could pack things up fast and she did a little translating here and there.

She had to text Chimwemwe that Joseph was coming to pick him up to day even though she didn't like it. Her mom lived in Kabwe so she couldn't ask her, Shupwia wasn't around, she could tell Chimwemwe to ride with the Sosalas but since the two share a little bond she decided to ask him which he immediately agreed.

She thought a little about the man but as time is passing, she had to admit his slowly putting down her guard but she would raise them up again when she saw they were slowly getting back to their old habits when they were seeing each other. She smiled a little but frowned bitterly at the past memories before the death of Chimwemwe's parents. Joseph might not know who did it but she did and the person was by no means were those monsters' part of Kujitenga or allied with anyone.

Suddenly a Benzie pulled up a white man with brown hair and black eyes in a three-piece suit pulled up.

"Yeah, Tony ready to get the job started?" Minerva didn't beat around the bush.

"Before that Mr. Munthali wanted a favor to ask you Miss Caçar for 'old times sake' according to him." The man known as Tony stated. "He needs you to a company him to Japan after a few days as his secutary/translator/bodyguard."

"What?" Minerva asked raising her eyebrow.

With Joseph

Joseph was just in his car on his way to pick up his nephew from school and just by Minerva trusting her with this means that there was some progress. Suddenly his phone rang and he rolled his eyes when he saw the caller id.

"Well little Takhar secretary what do you want now?"
