Extended Prologue | Part 6

Mikro landed between them, gaining both of their attention. "Hawks, there is another building that needs support." She said, "And bring your friend along? He seems to know what he's doing."

The last statement confused both of the teenagers. She looked at both before turning to Hawks, "He is your UA classmate, right? He also seems to be interning in this city."

Hawks looked at Toya who had a cringe expression plastered on his face, he smiled. "Yeah, but we aren't that close." He said, the last part ringing bells in Toya's mind.

Mikro was about to say something more when she frowned and her fingers got near her ears. She heard something from her comms and took off, not before saying. "Go to sector A, they need a few helping hands with carrying stuff."

"Now…" Hawks looked at Toya with a scary smile. "You mind explaining?"

"Ah… Will it help if I say I am from the future?" Toya said, and an amusing expression dawned Hawks's face. "Look man, I just wanted to help. And things got out of hand and I accidentally remembered that I failed the UA exam a year ago, so I just got with I had in mind."

Hawks frowned, his smile never leaving his face. Which was the scary part. Toya had to mix lies in, he couldn't just go around saying that he was the son of the 2nd class flaming fart.

"If it makes you feel better, I had medical field training in my general studies, so I know my stuff." Half-Lies worked best in this type of situation. But the evenness in his voice said otherwise. Even Hawks was half convinced. Well, he did have experience in lying to a pro hero. So that was a plus.

"You are staying with me, and don't do anything stupid. You are in a lot of trouble already. But I could need some helping hand." He said, walking towards him. "And I will confirm everything. Personally."

Toya internally cringed at the last part, but he didn't let it show in his face. Who the fucks care about tomorrow, live your life like there's no tomorrow. Or that was how it went.

Hawks on the other hand, was thinking the opposite. Maybe the boy was saying the truth. There were always times, when people broke the law to save lives. And he admired that. It was one of the ways the Hero agency found him.

"For now stay with me. I don't want to get a valentine killed." Hawks said. Before walking towards a short alleyway.

Toya looked at his back, should he follow, well there was always the option to run. Toya shrugged, at least he could help some people before getting thrown up in jail.

Huh, how would jail food taste like? Well, it would be sweet enough to see Endeavour's humiliation. Hmm, tempting.

Toya looked at Hawks, particularly his wings. Whatever his quirk was, it was a type of father control. And also some type of sixth sense maybe, because you don't show your back to a random stranger.

He needed to be careful. Because he surely wasn't spending his night in jail. That would suck.

His chain of thought was broken, when Hawks called out. "You are going to drill a hole in my head with that look." He said not turning back.

"Oh, sorry…" his apology was cut off when they heard an explosion went off not far away, both of them looked towards it, "That's not where section A is right?"

Hawks took to the sky looking at the situation, before looking back. "Go back. I don't think you should get in any more trouble than you are already are."

And he seemed serious. Hawks didn't wait for a reply as he zoomed off.

Toya stood in place. What should he do? He could avoid jail, if he just disappeared right now. But he could hear people's cry coming out of section A.

Something bad was going on there. "I hope they give blankets in Jail." Toya ran forward, he would worry about the consequences later. He was training his whole life for this. A license or not, wouldn't stop him for saving people.

Running through the broken roads, he saw some firefighters evacuating the civilians. Whatever that was it was pretty bad. Jumping over the barricades, he launched himself to a wall, nimbly climbing it and it was enough to get him a view of what was going on.

A giant around twenty-five feet stood on the open road, while police car and firefighter trucks were blocking his way, beyond that was the A section. And the bad thing was there weren't any heavy hitters hero in there. The only noteworthy ones were Hawks and another hero who had a head for a fire hydrant. Police were also there shooting at the villain.

And that was no ordinary villain, it was Giantomatchia, who was a rising threat.
