6 Extended Prologue | Part 5

Extended Prologue | Part 5

"Papa." Both kids said in unison, hugging the man's waist as he leaned on the wall.

Toya felt a bit nauseated seeing all the blood. But his adrenalin helped him gulp it down. Now wasn't the time to wimp out. "Sir, don't move." He said. "This might hurt a little, but can you stay awake. Please"

Toya was so happy that he went on that boring medic program a year ago.

The man weakly nodded. This could get him in a lot of trouble, maybe in jail. But it was better than his home. And that way, maybe he could get some dirt on the second hero's name.

Toya shook his head, he didn't have the time to think about it. He crouched near the man, looking over his shoulder. It was difficult to get his hands behind him, but he did.

Barely touching the rod. With the metal rod in between his fingers, he released a concentrated fire around his fingers, using them as scissors to cut the metal off.

He held the rod from the other side, not to pressurize the wound, he cut the other end the same way. Pulling the rod out would make things worse. He sighed. Looking at the man once again.

"Sir, I need you to be extra tough in front of your kids." He said, and before the man could ask.

Toya pressurized the wound from both sides, using his fire to cauterize the wound. It would hold the bleeding. But a rod sticking out of the shoulder wasn't a pretty sight.

The man didn't seem to feel any pain though.

Shit, this was bad, did he lose too much blood. "Hey, sir. Stay with me." He said lightly slapping his face, the man was in a rough shape. He was barely responding.

Toya turned towards the kids, he took his phone out, turning the flashlight on. "Hold it in front I will help him from behind." The kids looked at each other before nodding.

He held the man up, supporting him by the shoulder, his opposite shoulder of course. It took a while to drag him out. But he eventually did.

When they were outside, already a fire truck was there, helping with the rescue.

"Hey, someone is inside." A boy maybe not older than Toya called out. He had blond hair and red wings. "Are you guys, okay?"

"No, I think he's lost a lot of blood. I cauterized the wound, but I think he needs a blood transfusion right now." Toya quickly said.

The boy looked at Toya for a while before nodding. "Medic, we have an emergency here." He said in his comms as he tried to support the patient, but it was hard to find an angle, because of a rod sticking out.

"I can handle this."

He reluctantly nodded.

Toya got them towards the van, before laying him down. He wiped away the sweat before he smiled at the kids. "Stay with him, okay." He said, trying to give his best gentle smile as possible. And luckily it worked, one point for good looks I guess.

Luckily there was a healing quirk user in the area. And she got to him as soon as possible.

Toya quickly got back, and he saw the boy with red wings. He was standing at the entrance of the building and seemed to be concentrating.

Toya was wide-eyed, when he three people falling… no levitating out of the building.

Red feathers were attached to their clothes. Maybe it was the bird wings quirk. That was some versatile quirk for rescue missions. But the boy seemed to be to young to be a hero, though.

Mikro landed between them, gaining both of their attention. "Hawks, there is another building that needs support." She said, "And bring your friend along?"

The last statement confused both of the teenagers. She looked at both before turning to Hawks, "He is your classmate right. He also seems to be interning in this city."

Oh, Shit.
