18 Extended Prologue | Part 17

It only made Dabi furious. And having most of his wounds healed and stamina regained helped. Even if Dabi was able to cross the bridge with Eri, he was sure the Yakuza would tack them down before they could get to the police or any other heroes.

So he needed to stall them. Dabi took out his phone, the screen was already cracked, but it wasn't broken, maybe it was from Eri's quirk. And looking at the network bar, made him beyond happy. So he immediately sent the SOS.

"Wow, Eri-chan you have such an amazing quirk," Dabi said, his voice was almost normal, losings the painful edges it had a minute ago.

The small girl was about to say something when she held her head in pain.

Shit. "Hey, are you okay?" Dabi asked.

"Ah-sorry." The girl said. "I am not used to using my powers."

Dabi sighed in relief, but that only confused him. With how powerful her quirk was, why weren't they training her? But then again, not everyone was the same kind of monster Enji was.

Dabi shook his head, now wasn't the time. "Eri-chan, can you see the bridge over there?"

The girl looked over the rundown rooftop towards the bridge. She nodded.

"You have to take this." He said, giving her the phone. "And run. When you revive a call, press this button, and say 'Help'. And remember to not stop running. I will find you so don't worry."

The girl was confused at first but the she looked terrified. "No, you can't stay." She said. "They will hurt you again."

Dabi for the first time, gave a confident smile. "No they won't." He smiled. "Thanks to you I am all good. You don't need to worry about me, but can you run?"

The girl weakly nodded. He took the girl one last time, before jumping off the rooftop. He landed then placed the girl on the floor, and pointed her to follow the straight path. "Now, go."

The girl hesitantly separated. Even as she ran, she looked back time to time at Dabi's scared face. When the girl was out of sight, Dabi spun around, facing away from the bridge. With a determined look, he made his way back.

And before long Raikiya Katsukami made his way towards him. And this time Dabi didn't back off, as he too started running towards him. With a snap of his fingers, a ball of condensed fire appeared on his hand. But he was sure to hide it from the villain's sight.

The moment Dabi felt his strength losing his body, he tossed the ball of blue flames out and looked away, it detonated creating a flash bag, blinding the villain in the process. It worked as Dabi felt his stamina not getting sucked off anymore.

While the large man slowed down and even grunted due to the sudden loss of his sight, Dabi speed up, jumping towards his opponent. Midair his hands caught fire as the moment he was near the giant he blasted the flames on his head.

The large man screamed as he tried to get back. Dabi's feet touched the ground before he swiped his feet making the villain fall on his back.

Even though the flames took the bird mask out off the villain's face, he still had his skin. How tough was his skin, anyway. Well, it wouldn't matter.

Before the villain could get up, Dabi jumped forward, placing on his hands on the villain's stomach, letting his flames loose. Creating a close implosion right in his stomach, scorching the villain's inwards. He would have done more, but a foot from the villain made Dabi fly several feet away. There was a small church and Dabi knew what it was. But he ignored it getting up immediately.

The villains screamed, as his inwards were gushing out of his stomach. This kind of explosion at close range had horrofing result that what Dabi had imagined, but he didn't feel a shroud of pity from him. He tried to get up, but Dabi was already near him, "This is for hitting my face asshole." The last thing the villain saw was a knee to his face.

But Dabi didn't stop, as he started stomping on his face with all his might. Even without his boots, Dabi was sure to crush his skull by the tenth time. And he stomped some more, before catching his breath.

It was hard to breathe, his nose was broken. With a pained look, he placed his palms on his nose, getting it in place. He grunted from pain, before breathing out.

"So, even the musclehead couldn't take you." A voice came, and Dabi knew who it was. He looked at the oncoming villain. The man was taller than Dabi and was wearing a plague doctor mask.

Kai Chisaki better known as Overhaul. He was wearing a black dress shirt with matching dress pants, a pale gray tie around his neck and a belt with a long, thin buckle around his waist, with three beaded lobe piercings in his left ear. Over this, he was wearing a dark olive-green bomber jacket with a thick purple fur collar and white lace-up sneakers with tan soles and no socks. The white surgical gloves he wears on his hands and the magenta plague mask he wears over his mouth, which is tipped and embroidered with gold, are his most distinguishing features.
