12 Extended Prologue | Part 11

Dabi coldly looked at his face, black scars inching along the lower half of his face to the neck, silver staples to hold his remaining skin intact, he looked horrible, luckily not all of his scars were real. Dark lifeless black eyes shone in the mirror, as he tied his hair to a bun. It wasn't that long, just long enough to have a man bun in. He was nineteen now, but his facial features made him look more mature.

How many years has it been since the incident with All-Might, two years maybe? He just wanted to save people then, helping the needy, to be a hero.

What started as a vigilante carrier, quickly turned. Fate had other plans for him. "At least I doing something useful," Toya said, but he was better known as Dabi in the underground circle and in the villain world.

Peeling away the dark skin that he wore on his lower half, wiping away the makeup, he removed his staples and piercings, looking almost normal. And then he washed his face, cleaning away the remaining makeup that decorated his face. With some difficulty, he even removed his dark contact lens, showing his Turquoise blue eyes underneath.

He took off the un-usual black jacket that he used for villain work and wore a white long-sleeved one, that hid the scars on his arms, they were the real ones. The scars on his face weren't real, but that was a different story altogether when it came to the scars on his arms.

He barely had any skin left there. It wasn't bad, now, he didn't need to feel the pain of burning himself. He looked at his reflection one last time, before giving himself a smile. He almost forgot how he looked, with his constant jobs.

Sometimes in this line of work, and with his persona, he was sure that he would forget how to smile. Now he looked like Toya again, a high-school dropout that had a charming face if not anything.

He looked at his hair, it was already tied. But he checked his wristwatch, there was still some time, so he took the liberty to wash away the black color show cashing his snow-white hair underneath.

He was almost nineteen now, and his face showed maturity. Light tanned skinned, with sharp facial features, coupled with his body packed with muscles, he would have been a lady killer, well, if that lady was blind enough to ignore the burning scars hidden in his body that is.

After drying off his hair, tying it in a man bun, he took off from his run-down apartment. It was a humble place actually, a small bed, with some stuff, scattered around his three-room apartment. But the air around here was damp and moist, it was because the apartment, was in a not-so-friendly neighborhood. Heck, his neighbor was a petty drug dealer, if it cleared something.

Rather than going through the front gates, he climbed his way out through the fire exit. It was early morning now, most of the criminals were either stoned by drugs, or dead by bullets, so he wouldn't need to watch his back that much.

He checked his wallet one last time, sorting away the different IDs, he took out one that had a similar look to Toya. It was funny that he didn't have his original ID on him, it was still at home, somewhere at the Todoroki household.

After taking the train and journeying for two hours straight he was in front of a fancy British restaurant. The moment he stepped in, he felt multiple eyes watching him. But he ignored them, he was almost used to it by now, almost. Walking through the almost empty restaurant, he took in the smell of roasted coffee beans, for once it was refreshing. As it was still too early for customers, here, most of the seats were empty, only workers that gave him a curious glace, before doing their job. It felt peaceful, good, he hoped that the city would stay that way.

Going up to the second floor he sat down opposite to a blond young man. Looked similar to his age, the man gave a small smile, when he saw Toya.

The young man had golden blond hair and that was kept steady over his forehead, almost covering his light eyes, and he wore a white simple shirt and black pants. Almost looking like an office worker. Nobody would ever guess this was the rising star in the Hero ranking, Hawks.

Who was still in his third year at UA, but had enough fame to establish himself in the hero rankings. Currently, he was in the 30th position, because of him still being undergraduate. It was a wonder, how he could pull off a disguise, just by changing his hairstyle.

"Oh, you came early." Hawks said, flashing a friendly smile. "And… you look normal."

Toya narrowed his eyes, as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I will take that as a compliment."

He smiled again, "Come on, take a joke will ya." Hawks almost was unrecognizable without his signature hairstyle and red wings. Toya knew the wings were there but was hidden underneath his clothes. But how? Well, that was a different question.
