Chapter 30

Endeavor watched with a stoic expression as Axel and Shoto fought each other using only hand-to-hand combat. Axel rushed in and sent a punch to Shoto who blocked the attack by raising his arms.

Seeing this, Axel continued to punch Shoto who could do nothing but keep his guard up. Seeing an opening, Shoto quickly lifted his leg and sent a roundhouse kick towards Axel's head.

Axel blocked the attack with his arm as Shoto pulled his leg back. Axel went in for another punch as Shoto pushed Axel's arm away to dodge the attack.

Axel spun around and went for a backhand to Shoto's face. Shoto tilted his body backward to dodge as Axel then tried to grab him. Shoto kept his distance and deflected that too.

They stared at each other, trying to find an opening to attack.

" Stop. " Endeavor said.

Shoto and Axel lowered their stances as they looked at Endeavor, trying to steady their breathing.

" Shoto don't wait for an opening. Go straight in and make one yourself. Doing that will allow you to control the battle as you are on the offensive. " Endeavor advised as Shoto nodded.

Endeavor had a stoic look on the outside but he was proud on the inside. With Axel around, Shoto has been listening to lessons. He was improving quickly which is great for him.

" Alright. Go freshen up and relax. Today we will be heading over to Hosu city for patrolling. " Endeavor said as he walked away.

Axel and Shoto stood in the shower room as they freshened up, removing all the sweat and the smell.

" Hosu city is where the hero killer Stain should be right? " Shoto asked.

" Yep. Seems he wants you to watch and learn from him. " Axel said.

" Seems like it. You sure you're okay with this. You are only here because he wants you to push me farther and won't teach you much. " Shoto said.

" I know. But I'll be able to get experience since he actively tries to find villains to defeat. " Axel said. He already predicted that Endeavor would have invited him for this reason but he didn't mind considering that with the other options he had. Axel believed that he probably wouldn't be able to get any experience fighting villains with the other hero options.

Plus, the stuff Endeavor had in his gym was quite useful for target practice, considering Axel could train with his quirk by himself. He didn't need Endeavor for quirk training or any other lessons. All he wanted was some experience in the field.

He only had one week, so he chose the best option that he believed would allow him to gain that experience. Besides, if he's wrong, he could switch to another hero by asking Nezu.

Walking through the streets of Hosu, Axel and Shoto followed Endeavor while wearing their hero costumes.

" Alright, pay attention Shoto when I'm fighting. It'll give you a better picture of how to fight with your flames. " Endeavor said.

" Yeah yeah. I got it. " Shoto said.

As they were walking smoke starting forming in the air as three of them took notice. This was followed by screams.

Immediately, Axel created a barrier as Endeavor and Shoto got on and headed straight towards the smoke.

There they saw something familiar.

A nomu.

" Pay attention Shoto. " Endeavor said as he jumped off Axel's barrier. He released flames from the bottom of his feet to slow his descent before landing on the ground.

He then rushed forward and slammed his fist into it as hr saved it from seriously harming one of the heroes.

The nomu regenerated and rushed towards Endeavor. Endeavor snorted as he grabbed the Nomu's head and burned the Nomu's head into ashes.

" Did you see that Shoto? " Endeavor asked as he looked towards where Shoto was. Endeavor was angry as he saw Shoto and Axel were no longer there.

He heard his phone buzz and opened it. It was a message from Shoto saying he had to go help a friend here in Hosu.

Endeavor clicked his tongue in annoyance before looking at the other heroes.

" Are there any more of these things? If so, where are they? " Endeavor asked.

Meanwhile, Axel and Todoroki headed straight towards Midoriyas location as he sent a help request to them.

" Found them. " Axel said as he accelerated towards Midoriyas and Iida's location.

Midoriya grit his teeth as he tried to move. He couldn't though as Stain had used his quirk and started walking towards Iida.

" I'll defeat you. " Iida said with rage as he looked at Stain.

" Sorry, but a fake like you could never defeat me. " Stain said as he held his sword above Iida's head.

Midoriya watched in horror as he couldn't move. The sword descended slowly towards Iida's head.

* bam *

Midoriyas and Iidas eyes widened as the sword broke when it came in contact with a familiar yellow barrier. Stain was surprised but he reacted quickly and jumped back as a stream of fire was about to hit him.

Shoto and Axel landed in front of Iida as they looked at Stain.

" Midoriya, next time please send the location as well. We almost didn't make it in time. " Shoto said.

" Yeah, I'll remember that. " Midoriya said.

" More children. " Stain muttered.

" What are you guys doing here? I told you, I can do this myself. So just leave. " Iida said.

Shoto and Axel just stared at confused.

" What are you talking about? Do what yourself? You didn't tell us anything? " Shoto said.

" Stain hurt my brother and I almost lost him. I don't want your help. I can capture him myself, so leave. " Iida yelled.

" Stop it, Iida. You aren't even able to move. Revenge isn't the answer here. " Midoriya yelled.

" Doesn't matter. Ill capture him because I am Ingenium. " Iida yelled. His mouth was soon closed as Axel put a muffler on him.

" So your Stain? " Axel asked as he looked towards Stain.

" Pretty much kid. You are really unlucky. For trying to protect that fake hero, Ingenium, you are going to die as well. " Stain said.

' He's the other person that Hand job wanted dead. ' Stain thought.

" Okay, but what is a fake hero? " Axel asked. Everyone was surprised as Axel asked that question.

' Hmm, why does he want to know? Could he perhaps see the same way I do? '

" Fake heroes are the people who use the title of a hero for their own selfish desires. No one in this city really becomes a hero to save people, it's just for the fame and money. " Stain said.

" I see. But why kill them? "

" To get rid of them. Fake heroes don't belong in society. I will show this world the corrupt hero society they live in to destroy it before creating a new one. A better society than the one it is now. " Stain said.

" With that said, what about you? Why become a hero? " Stain said.

" Hmm oh, that. Well, if we are using your ideals then I'm probably a fake. " Axel said.

The others were silent. Midoriya, Shoto, and Iida just listened to the conversation. Shoto was curious as to why Axel was talking to Stain, but it was surprising when Axel called himself a fake.

Stain was shocked. He looked at Axel who just stared at him. He was confused.

" Why would you say that? " Stain asked.

" Simple, I just entered UA to find an answer to a question. Nothing more. " Axel said.

' A question. That's all. Not fame or money. Just a question. ' Stain thought. He was perplexed.

" What's the question? " Stain asked. He was curious, after all, depending on the question, Axel could be a real hero or a fake.

" I'm keeping that to myself. " Axel said.

" I see. Well then, this has been an interesting conversation. What's your name kid? "

" Axel. "

" Axel. You arent a hero but you are not a fake. I don't know where to place you. But since you'll protect Ingenium, you'll have to die. " Stain said.

Ice blasted straight towards Stain who immediately hopped back to avoid it before cutting the ice at the top and standing on top of it as he looked at the culprit.

" Conversations over? " Shoto asked.

" Yep. Midoriya, cam you move? " Axel asked.

" Oh... Yeah. I can. " Midoriya said as he stood up and used one for all.

" Don't let him cut you. After he did, he licked some of my blood and I was unable to move. " Midoirya said. Todoroki and Axel nodded.

Stain stared at them and got ready. He held swords in front of him as the battle had begun.
