The begginings of war

All Might stared at the charred body that had once been Nomu, its body wrapped in Killua's yo-yo. He, of course, knew the details about the Nomus. They weren't human - far from it. But at the end of the day, he wondered if that monstrosity also had a life, even if it was created in a lab. Then again the thing was a mix of body parts. Still, it had to have a beating heart, right?

He probably would have done the same in order to save his students but he was also aware of Killua's past. At the end of the day, Killua had once been an assassin, someone who had taken multiple lives, and had once again just taken another. Was he slipping back at his training and former mindset? Would he become a danger to his other students? Thoughts like that crept into Yagi's mind as he watched safely hidden from prying eyes in his skeletal form his students being interrogated by the police.

His eyes once again slipped to the most talented and yet most dangerous student to probably has ever existed. He was sitting in the ambulance beside a now unconscious Eresher head. His silver bangs obscured his eyes and the rage hidden behind his blue jewels. Killua was still a raging monster in human skin, lost in his rage and sea of memories. No one, not even the detectives, tried to talk to him.

Yagi unconsciously clenched his fists. If he had been more careful with his time limit that morning, he would have been there to make sure that everyone was safe. Now as things stood, Kaminari was brain-damaged as an aftereffect of overusing his quirk. (That was something to worry about, would overcharging his brain too many times could cause permanent damage?) not to mention he almost died at the hands of a villain.

Thirteen was also injured, he heard conversations between his students that Killua had warned her not to use her quirk at the mist villain, but she ignored him and tried using her quirk on him while believing he was distracted by the kids, only for it to be a trick, the villain had lured her in a confident sense of safety in order for her to attack, obviously the moment she used her quirk he used his and backfired it at the pro-hero. Now she was on her way to the hospital, probably lying by now at a surgical table with multiple doctors over her, trying to save her, she would end up in the ICU afterward and her career as a hero was now in danger. Would she even be able to continue, would she ever fully recover?

Aizawa had an elbow disintegrated and multiple broken bones, along with a fractured skull and bruises all over his body. Midoriya had a broken hand (nothing new there), and by the smell of it, Mineta made full use of his diaper. Yaoyorozu and Jirou were still lightly trembling from being blackmailed with their classmate's life and almost seeing their first murder (hopefully they would never have to see one, though he doubted that, seeing what their chosen profession was). Then there were also the students that were with thirteen and had to watch her dying, Asui almost had her face disintegrated and Bakugo would have been a stamp on the floor or some wall if he hadn't blocked Nomu's attack. At the end of the day instead of rescue training they got a class full of PTSD.

They would have to arrange for all the students from class 1-A therapy sessions, and he would have to have a talk with the principal about Killua.

As the day progressed, the kids went to their homes, and Aizawa went to the hospital in a comatose state with Killua at his side.

Their current problem? The death of Nomu at the hands of a student. This is why All Might found himself sitting in a room with the principal, Detective Tsukachi, and Chief of Police Kenji Tsuragamae. Normally, the student's guardian should also be present, but seeing as he was hospitalized, they had little to no options for dealing with the matter.

"The Nomu is a creature created by combining multiple Quirks into one body - a mindless soldier. What Killua did was our best option," the principal explained.

"But the boy still took a life, and we can't just ignore that," the chief disagreed.

"Actually, we can and we will. The Nomu was already dead, created by body parts from diseased individuals, with only one goal in life: to follow the orders of his creator and his creator's dog," the principal argued once again. The two had been arguing for almost twenty minutes.

"He could do it again to someone who isn't a mindless monster. I looked at the kid's family - he comes from a family of villains," the chief pointed out.

"Your perception of the boy is biased," Yagi agreed wholeheartedly with the principal. The chief was biased toward the boy, which Yagi realized he was as well. He was worried that Killua would snap and go back to his old ways, but now that the principal had broken down to them what a Nomu actually was, he knew that Killua did the right thing by obliterating, otherwise they would have a ticking time bomb that they could barely contain.

The disagreement continued, and they were going to be here for a while. At the end of the day, Yagi knew that Killua wouldn't be able to escape his already predetermined path in the world of heroes. The boy would become an Executioner, Bounty Hunter, or Shikari - it didn't matter. His path was decided the moment he killed Nomu, who was now listed as an S-class villain and placed on the blacklist. Despite the lack of crimes, Nomu is a mindless beast, which only makes it far more dangerous.

The days passed and Killua found himself taking care of a very stubborn and difficult Aizawa.

The USJ battle had taken its toll on the man. He had been knocked unconscious and sustained multiple injuries. Now he was covered in multiple bandages making him look like a mummy, or at least like he was doing a bad cosplay of one.

As Killua tended to Aizawa's wounds, he couldn't help feeling a mix of emotions - on one hand, he was relieved that his dad was going to be okay, but on the other hand, he couldn't help feeling a little bit worried and protective.

"Hey, Dad," Killua said, trying to hide the concern in his voice. "How are you feeling?"

Aizawa grunted in response, wincing as Killua cleaned his injured elbow.

"Sorry about that," Killua apologized. "I'm just trying to make sure you don't get an infection."

Aizawa nodded, gruffly. "I appreciate it, kid."

Over the next few days, Killua went above and beyond in his care for Aizawa. He brought him his favorite foods, -as he was incapable of cooking anything that didn't include sugar- made sure he took his medicine on time and even helped him with his physical therapy exercises.

Aizawa was grateful for his help, but he couldn't help feeling a little embarrassed at his situation. He was used to being the one in charge, the one taking care of others - not the other way around. But he also couldn't deny that he was touched by Killua's concern and dedication. But at the end of the day he was left thinking if their roles were meant to be reversed. Killua being the carer and him being the one that was being taken care of.

Aizawa looked at his kid with affection while simultaneously mustering up the courage to ask him a question. "Hey, Killua... can I ask you something?"

"Sure Dad," Killua replied, smiling. "What's up?"

Aizawa hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I know life has been pretty tough on you... and I just wanted to say... I'm sorry. You're a good kid, Killua. You deserve better than a cranky old hero like me."

Killua's eyes widened in surprise. "Dad, I don't think I deserve any of this, I took many lives and I failed to protect my little sister. But what I'm certain about is you, you care -a lot- and not just for me but for everyone in class A. Not to mention that even if it hasn't been long, you are a way better dad than my actual father. Plus the guy was an ass."

Aizawa felt a lump form in his throat as he heard those words.

As Killua finished bandaging up Aizawa's arm, he couldn't help feeling a little bit proud of himself. He had always wanted to be a hero like Aizawa, but now he realized that being a hero wasn't just about fighting villains or saving lives. It was about caring for others, even when it wasn't easy.

And as Aizawa settled back into his pillows, he couldn't help feeling a little bit proud of Killua, too. He had known that his son was strong and capable, but now he realized that Killua had something even more important - a kind heart and a fierce loyalty to those he cared about. And that, he realized, was worth more than all the strength and power in the world.

When school finally began, class 1-A was in chaos. Everyone was talking about the U.S.J. but the moment Killua got through the door they quieted down and stared at him.

Killua stared at his classmates with a deadpan expression. "It's rude to stare"

"That's rich coming from you" Mina yelled.

"How the hell do you have multiple quirks?" Bakugo questioned him

"I don't"

"Bullshit, I saw you, superseded, electricity manipulation, healing, superstrength" Bakugo countered

"I only have one quirk, electricity manipulation. Everything else is me applying electricity to my nerves, making my reflects lighting fast, or activating my healing factor, or strengthening my muscles" Killua explained while getting to his seat.

"That's not possible, I have the same quirk, and everything you just said it's just impossible" Denki countered.

"Maybe for you, you can ask Aizawa-Sensei or even the principal, the answer won't change"

"Actually what Killua just described makes sense, but it would take immense talent and training to achieve that," Yaoyorozu said.

"Luckily I've got both," Killua said, making some of his classmates flinch at the reminder of his scars.

"You called Aizawa-Sensei dad," Tsu said as blandly as always.

"Adoptive, though we're still waiting for the official decision..." Killua said then looked at the door "Sensei is coming"

"Who do you think is going to teach homeroom today?" Asked Mina once everyone calmed down.

"Well, Aizawa-sensei is supposed to be in the hospital recovering from his injuries..." Tsu started only to be interrupted by the door opening and a mummy was standing there.

"Good Morning," the mummy said, greeting the class with a curt nod before getting straight to the point. "Listen up, class," he says, his voice serious even muffled. "I have an important announcement to make."

"Aizawa-Sensei you're back too soon" everyone exclaimed.

"He's fine," Killua said

"You ran from the hospital" Todoroki deadpanned.

"Details" Killua dismissed his friend

"Everyone, the fight is not over yet," The students fall silent, giving Aizawa their full attention. He pauses for effect, letting the suspense build for a moment." The U.A. sports festival is drawing near." Aizawa continues.

"Is it okay to have the sports festival so soon after the villain attack?" Denki asked.

"What if they attack again or something?" Mineta said, fear evident in his voice.

"Apparently, they think of it as U.A. showing that our crisis management system is solid as a rock to hold the event. Security will also be strengthened in comparison to previous years."

"Considering how much face the school lost from the villain attack, it only makes sense," Killua thought out loud, unconsciously gaining everyone's attention. "Plus showing both its students' strength and their own power by holding the event is the most efficient and fastest for the school to gain back its reputation."

Not only that but our Sports Festival is a huge chance." Aizawa added, "It's not an event to be canceled by a few villains."

"But that's a good reason, isn't it? It's only a sports festival" Mineta asked almost crying from his fear.

'How did he even pass?' Everyone thought.

"Mineta, you've never seen the sports festival?" questioned Midoriya.

"Our sports festival is one of Japan's biggest events. In the past the whole country was crazy about the Olympics, a simple sports festival, now as you know with reductions in scale and population, they're now a shell of their former glory. And now, for Japan, what has taken the place of those Olympics is the U.A. sports festival!" Aizawa tried to make them understand the importance of the sports festival.

"Of course, all the top heroes around the country will be watching. For scouting purposes" Added Yaoyorozu, while Kaminary explained the steps of becoming a Pro to Mineta and Jirou made fun of Kaminari by saying he was meant to stay as a sidekick.

"Of course, joining a famous hero agency will get you more experience and popularity" Aizawa continued as if he never had heard them. "Time is limited. If you want to go pro, then the path to your future will be opened by this event. One chance a year, a total of three chances. No aspiring heroes can afford to miss this event. If you understand that, then don't slack off on your preparations!"

The students erupt into a chorus of excited chatter, but Aizawa quickly silences them with a stern look. "But," he adds, "I expect each and every one of you to take this seriously. The Sports Festival is not just a competition - it's an opportunity to showcase your skills and abilities to potential employers and the public at large. You will be representing UA, and you will be expected to behave accordingly."

He then turns to Killua and gives him a nod. "And this goes double for you, Killua. I expect you to give it your all." Killua paused and looked at him with surprised and wide eyes. The whole class was quiet looking at the two of them. Everyone saw Killua's terrifying power at USJ, not to mention the incredible variations of his quirk and versatility. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't know how powerful he really was.

"Are you sure?" He asked for confirmation.

"You said it yourself, we need to showcase our students' strength, I know your full capabilities exceed but we will use this as a warning to the villains" Aizawa hesitated for a bit before continuing. "Unfortunately, what happened with the Nomu only left you with one path in the heroics" Everyone looked at their teacher confused except for Killua himself that had already gained a blank look.

Killua nodded in agreement and gained a determined look in his eyes. He knows that this is his chance to prove himself as a hero, and he's not going to let anyone down.

Aizawa then goes on to explain the details of the Sports Festival - the events, the rules, and the expectations. He emphasizes the importance of teamwork and strategy and warns the students that they will be facing tough competition from the rest of the first years.

As he finishes his speech, he looks around the classroom, taking in the eager faces of his students. Despite his gruff exterior, Aizawa couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in his class. They're a talented and determined group, and he knows they have what it takes to make a real impact at the Sports Festival.

The day progressed until it was finally time to leave, or at least try to.

"We can't get out! Why did you come here for, anyway?" He heard Mineta say.

"Scouting the enemy, small fry," Bakugo said with his usual scowl and arrogance "We are the ones who made it out of the villains' attack." Killua looked at the gathered students. "They probably wanna check us out before the sports festival. There's no point in doing stuff like that" The silver-haired teen started walking toward the commotion

"I came to see what the famous class A was like, but you seem pretty arrogant." said the purple-haired teenager that he had met in the entrance exam. "Are all the students in the hero course like this? Seeing something like this makes me disillusioned. There are quite a few people who enrolled in general studies or other courses because they didn't make it into the hero course. Did you know that?"

"Everybody knows that. The school gives these students a chance, depending on their results in the sports festival, they can transfer into the hero course, and also students from the hero course can be transferred out. It's no secret" Killua said narrowing his eyes at the purple-haired kid "You're not here to scout the enemy but to make a declaration" He said.

"Just a reminder, if you get too carried away, I'll sweep your feet out from under you."

"Go on ahead and try, we will be waiting for you" Killua once again told him, determination clear in his eyes, it lit a fire in the students of 1-A, and send shivers to the rest.

"Hey, hey, hey! I heard you fought against villains, so I came to hear about it! Don't get so full of yourself! If you bark too much, it'll be embarrassing for you durin' the real fight!" Tetsu Tetsu told them.

"Don't worry Tetsu Tetsu, our bite is equally bad to our bite" He said to his friend with a smirk, which he returned. "Now if you're finished step aside it was a long day and we want to go home" They didn't have any other choice but to do what he asked. After all antagonizing class 1-A now would take the fun out of the sports festival. A war started building up in the shadows of the school, their goal take down class 1-A.
