11 A proposal and the first day

Sharing secrets and a painful past isn't easy, especially when the protagonist is an introverted person, who likes privacy. But even so, secrets had to be unraveled for acceptance, that was the price, it wasn't a low price but it wasn't an impossible one. It was manageable with the right preparations, he did what they wanted and shared his past, but only gave them a few glimpses of it, a summary of some kind because at the moment only one person could be fully trusted to know in full details his past. Shota Aizawa. A man that resembled both of his previous teachers and friends, Wing and Biscuit, ironically Wing was also Biscuit's disciple.

After a few hours of being tortured by sharing his past (even if they were just glimpses of it, he still hated it), Nezu made him a proposal, to be a special type of hero, the type of heroes who work in the shadows and are unknown to most if not by all, they are even more secretly than the underground heroes. They are the Executioners (A/N originally, I wanted to call them Keiri, which is the Japanese word for executioner but I'm gonna use the English word since they are "internationals"). Heroes that resemble bounty hunters and do what other heroes don't, they kill. They take jobs that are given to them by the government, since Executioners are government officials, their job is to bring villains in, either dead or alive. They don't always kill their target since killing isn't usually required. No, those cases are rare. Only Blacklist villains, the worst of the worst, are met with such a fate. Villains like the Mexican El Diablo, a psychopath that burned down a whole village, a cannibal that enjoys torturing his "meals" as he has called the heroes that tried to take him in, but instead he devoured them. A villain that has killed thousands of people, in the end, he was brought down by an Italian Executioner known as the Blood devil: Legame di Sangue.

All the Executioners are high level because their targets are usually A' or S' class, there cannot be an executioner in a lower rank than B. B' ranks are the lowest and usually are the newbies, those people either die or rise to become high ranks, unfortunately, the most common fate is death for newbies, after all the Executioners are the hero branch with the most death. Their ranks are much like the villain ranks, but unlike the villain ranks, there are only three executioner ranks, A, B, and S. What defines their ranks are the power they possess and the bounties they have gathered. Heroes have similar ranks that are defined solely on quirks, and like villains, they are separated into ranks A, B, C, D, E, F, and S.

Executioners are government officials but they don't work for one government. No, the whole world is their playground. They travel around the world and take missions. Currently, there are only thirteen Executioners in the whole world. Since their targets are high level, it's also the hero branch with the most deaths. There are only two ways for one to become an Executioner, one is to become an underground hero and then an executioner (it can take multiple years to achieve that) and the other is to be taken in as a student by one (that's the rarest of cases), of course, to be an executioner two things are required, one to have a hero license, and two to be a B' rank. The only exception on requirement number two is if the rookie is training under an executioner.

Truth is that offer was rather intriguing for Killua, killing is the one thing he knows best, but he didn't want to kill, he ran away from that life because he was sick of it, no, what he wants is to protect, and here comes the second offer, which ironically can be considered the same as the first.

The Executioner hero branch is divided into two categories. The Bounty Hunters, which are the executioner type that was mentioned above. They hunt down their targets, if they are on the "blue list" they arrest them, if they are on the "blacklist" they kill them. The other one is more complicated, those Executioners can be known as defense and rescue heroes, they don't only hunt down the criminals but also protect the civilians and sometimes offer medical help. They are simply called Shikari (A/N, a person who hunts big game, especially a professional guide or hunter) they do what the Bounty Hunters do, but they are not in the shadows. Sure, no one knows about their bounty job, but everyone knows them as defense heroes. That's the difference between the two, one is in the shadow while the other isn't. One hunts their target, while the other hunts secretly and helps openly the civilians. But both kill in secret.

Another thing they have in common is that both categories are also informative types of heroes. They gather information and exchange them; at the same time, they analyze villains and make villain profiles based on the data they have gathered and the data that are known by the police. Of course, they only make villain profiles for the most dangerous villains, like El Diablo, All for One, Black Catalyst, and many other high classes villains.

As for villain classes, they are not separated by their "quirk danger level" (those are the villain ranks) but on their crimes. For example, as dangerous All for One is, he is an A' class villain, but El Diablo is an S' Class villain. Why? Because of the severity of their crimes, or at least known crimes. Truth is All for One is also a mystery because he went under. No one has heard of him after his fight with All Might, and he's presumed dead. Executioners, don't really believe that. He is a big-time villain, but the number of victims or even the number and types of crimes are unknown (A/N let's play dumb for now). On the other hand, Black Catalyst is an S' class villain for human experimentation, murder, and torture. El Diablo and Black Catalyst are (or were for El Diablo's case) on the blacklist, while the "immortal" (in some way) All for One is on the red list, the dead or alive list. Punisher ~an A' class villain known for terrorism~ and Stain the hero killer ~a murderer and an A' Class villain~ are on the blue list. And again, the lists are not separated by the villain's classes, while it's true most villains on the blacklist are S' Classes there are also a few A' classes.

As for the red list, they are the dangerous and mysterious villain cases like All for One, and the blue list is the danger level for the community, for example, it's true Stain the hero killer is on the blue list, but he can easily be moved in one of the other lists, while villains on the red list can be moved on either blue or blacklist, depending on the information they have gathered on the villain, as for the people on the blacklist, they cannot be moved in another list. So, the villain's classes are separated depending on the severity and the number of crimes, while the lists are depending on three things, one information, two crime severity, three the danger level they display on the community, the people heroes swore to protect the moment they receive their hero license.

(Executioner's lists:

1. Blue list: Capture, danger level: 1-3, crime severity: small-medium, (most common) villain classes: D,C,B, A

2. Red list: Dead or alive, danger level: unknown, crime severity: unknown. More Information needed, (most common) villain classes: B, A, S

3. Blacklist: Dead, danger level: 7-10, crime severity: High-Very high, (most common) villain classes: A, S

Villain classes: Five villain classes are depending on the severity of their crimes. (A/N all types of abuse can be a part of each class, so I'm leaving it out. Not because it's not important, but because there are many types, cases, and severity levels, and can be a part of each of the classes. Of course, the same can be said for all crimes, those are just examples to help have a better insight on villain classes, I'm not putting all types of crimes, only the ones that can help identify classes. At any rate, let's just say the two first classes don't have murder at all. It's mostly for theft and identity rights.)

1. Low-class D: Theft, fraud, identity theft

2. Low medium-class C: Theft, arsonist, fraud, low cyber crimes

3. Medium class B: Terrorism (low level), cybercrimes, felony and third-degree murder, rape, arsonist

4. High-class A: Terrorism, rape, second-degree murder, first-degree murder, slavery

5. Very high-class S: Terrorism, rape, mass murder, human experimentations, torture, slavery, cannibalism

The villain classes can also be depended on the mix of their crimes like an A' class can have on his list murder, theft, rape, slavery, arsonist. And an S' class can have, cyber-crime, abuse, theft, mass murder, terrorism, human experimentations.)

It's an intriguing offer, but still, killing is what he is running away from. Not that he's afraid of doing it, he is actually afraid of how easy it is for him. He was raised to do just that, so being a Shikari is actually ideal for him because he can protect the people and help them but also that position covers "accidental" deaths, accidental as flipping his switch on and instincts taking over. But the downside, killing is also a requirement. At least on the blacklist cases, and he can't be an executioner (in general) if he doesn't kill, that's what differentiates them from normal heroes and in-cases vigilantes.

Just like heroes, vigilantes also have two branches. While it's true that both are against the law, one simply captures the villain while the other isn't afraid to cross the line and kill them.

Well, at any rate, he still has time to think about his future, for now, he has other things to worry about, like the size of his school uniform. While indeed he's not the tallest person, he's actually quite short standing at 5'2 feet, but that doesn't mean he's not broad. The school had made an error on his shirt size and it's actually two sizes small, and that's how he ended up wearing a black sweatshirt with a white dragon wrapped on the right sleeve.

Now for worry number two, he ended up leaving early because of Aizawa and even though he used his skateboard to get to school, he still ended up arriving way too early, seeing that he was the first student in his class. So, once he found his seat he sat down, concealed his presence with In, and slept. Only to be wakened up by shouts, the moment he opened his eyes he regretted it as the first person he saw was the stick in his ass, four eyes.

"Great, just what I needed a guy with immense love and dedication to the rules and a pain in the ass." He thought. Then his attention was drawn to the hallway outside the classroom. "Hmm, I didn't expect him here, though I'm glad he made it, he worked hard, probably harder than anyone here. That just proves his dedication to his dream. If I remember correctly, he wants to be the next symbol of peace and save people with a smile on his face. Technically All Might junior."

Four eyes: Good morning my name is Tenya Ida. Four eyes started to introduce himself only to be cut off by the broccoli boy.

"Hmm, Shota will be here any minute now"

Red cheeks: Hey, I recognize that messed up hair… Falling boy. The girl that had saved the broccoli boy said, surprising the greenate who became flustered.

"What is he doing lying out there? Geeze, I know you're lazy but come on."

Red cheeks: I wonder how our teachers are like, I can't wait to meet everybody.

Aizawa: If you're here to make friends then you can pack up your staff now.

"What the hell? Why does he look like a caterpillar? Actually, screw that, why is he on a sleeping bag in the first place?"

Aizawa: Welcome to U.A.'s hero course. It took eight seconds before you all shut up, that's not gonna work. Time is precious, rational students would understand that. Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher.

"Man, their faces are hilarious," Killua thought as he locked eyes with Aizawa, who for a moment looked surprised to see him. "He didn't notice me because of In, I had forgotten about that."

Aizawa: well, let's get to it put this on, and head outside. He said as he took a U. A's gym uniform out of his sleeping bag.

"he expects us to wear the clothes he was sleeping on? Actually, wait, isn't that supposed to be my gym uniform?? He said he would find one for me… how am I supposed to wear it now? And what's with that smirk?"

Students: What? a quirk assessment test?

Red cheeks: But orientation we're going to miss it!

"Oh, what a tragedy"

Aizawa: If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events. U.A's selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are. That's also how the teachers run their classes. You kids have been doing these since junior high too, right? Physical fitness tests where you weren't allowed to use your quirk. The country still uses averages taken from results from students not using their quirks. It's not rational. Well, the ministry of education is procrastinating. He stopped for a moment to scan all the students in front of him, and once again locking eyes with his charge. Bakugo, in junior high, what was your best result for the softball throw?

Delinquent (now identified as Bakugo): 67 meters.

Aizawa: Then, try doing it with your quirk. He said pointing him in the direction of a circle. You can do whatever you want as long as you stay in the circle. Hurry up, give it all you got.

As Bakugo got ready for the softball throw, Killua exchanged a look with Aizawa. Their wordless conversation cut off short as Bakugo yelled Die when he threw the ball, leaving most of his classmates wordless.

Aizawa: Know your own maximum first. That is the most rational way to form the foundation of a hero. He said as he showed Bakugo's result to the rest of the class and causing countless comments.

"705,2. Not bad"

Pink girl: What's this? It looks fun!!

When Killua noticed Aizawa's evil grin he thought that they were screwed.

Weird elbows: We can use our quirks as much as we want! As expected from the hero course!

Aizawa: "it looks fun" huh? He repeated, making all the students shut up. You have three years to become a hero. Will you have an attitude like that the whole time? All right. He said putting back on his face that evil grin that can send shivers down his enemies' spines. Whoever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential… and will be punished with expulsion.

With those words, most of the students fell in panic.

"that's smart. A deceiving lie that can also be a truth, a lie within a lie. If he sees no potential in the student then he goes through with his threat and expels him. But, if he sees potential then he simply says it was a lie all along, not to mention that way the students have no choice but to go all out. I wonder if the same applies to me too, will I be able to go all out?" he exchanged a meaningful look with Aizawa that answered his question. "I should have expected that…"

Aizawa: We're free to do what we want about the circumstances of our students. The sadistic and evil grin that can rival his brother's was back. Welcome to U.A.'s hero course!

And then the parade of complaints started.

Red cheeks: last place will be expelled? But it's only the first day. No, even if it wasn't the first day of school, this is too unfair!

Killua: And what about natural disasters where hundreds lose their lives? Or accidents and what about villain attacks? Isn't it unfair that people that were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time lose their lives? Not to mention that there are people out there living a hellish life, people that struggle with starvation or diseases, or abuse. Isn't that unfair?

Pink skin: Well, there are heroes… The pink skin girl tried to excuse the situation.

Killua: Truth is that there won't always be a hero there to save them, they might be too late, after all, heroes are humans too. They can't prevent starvation or disease and they can't predict the future and even if they can, they can't be everywhere and anytime. Or would you like to take on that role? To watch over billions and try to prevent any attack, accident, disease, or natural disaster? Or is it humanly impossible for you? if you can't understand that, open your eyes and look around you, not just Japan, then you might see that the world is full of unfairness.

Aizawa: If you want to go talk with your friends at Mickeys D' after school, then too bad. For the next three years, U.A. will do all it can to give you one hardship after another. Go beyond. Plus Ultra. Overcome it with all you've got.

Everyone was filled with determination and was ready to give their all.

Aizawa: All right, the demonstration is over. The real thing begins now.

First test: 50-meter dash

The girl with the permanent red cheeks touched parts of her body to lighten her weight and have a better time, while her opponent was naturally fast. After them was a blonde boy with a weird-looking belt on his waist. Apparently, his quirk was a laser and he used it as a thruster to push himself forwards, while his opponent outrunned him. The third pair was the delinquent Bakugo who used his explosion quirk to push himself forward, against the broccoli boy who didn't use his quirk.

Aizawa: Ida, Zoldyck you're next.

"Zoldyck? Wasn't that the guy that took first place for me?" Bakugo thought as he tried to burn holes into Killua's back with his menacing stare.

Pink skin: Wasn't Zoldyck the name of the guy that got first place?

Red hair: I think so…

Robot: On your mark. Both Ida and Killua got on a runner's position. Get set. Small bolts of lightning started to dance around Killua. Almost invisible to anyone else. Go. 1,5 seconds, 3,4 seconds.

"that's my slowest time yet… hope you're happy Shota, cause I really don't like being mistaken for weaker…" Killua thought.

"He's faster than me??? I did not expect to see someone else with speed enhanced quirk, let alone being faster than me…" Ida thought while at the same time he tried to analyze Killua, before deciding to try and talk to him.

"So, what? first place is simply fast? I lost to someone that can only run away?" Bakugo thought as he watched Killua.

Ida: Hello, my name is Tenya Ida. You must be Killua Zoldyck, the one that got first place correct?

Killua: Yeah…

Ida: I have to say I was surprised to see someone else with a speed quirk. You're really fast.

Killua: That's not my quirk.

Ida: Huh???

Second test: Grip strength

Killua stared at the broccoli boy that tried to concentrate to use his new quirk. Forgetting to relax his own grip, until the beeping sound attracts his attention.

Killua: Shit…

Aizawa: 765… did you even used aura, or whatever it is you use? Aizawa asked him in a whisper.

Killua: No, not really

Aizawa: Try and hold back a little.

Killua: I didn't even use aura and the last test was my slowest time yet…

They both stared at each other then they left a sigh.

Third test: Standing long jump

Killua used Ko in his legs and made the longest jump. Afterward, Aizawa gave him a deadpan look

"But I was holding back," he thought

Fourth test: Repeated side steps

That one was easy since he had to match the person in front of him. It was also hilarious as he tried to stifle in his laughter as he watched the short guy with grape-styled hair. Until Aizawa hit him on the head.

Fifth test: Ball Throw

"Infinity huh? That's cool…"

Aizawa: Zoldyck

"Okay, let's see… I can't use Ko it will go too far away… hmm, I think I got an idea. I'll just fuse the negative and positive energy then release creating a powerful lightning attack… but isn't that kinda useless now? Sure, if it works it can do a lot of damage, to be more specific three times the damage my current lighting does, and if I can manipulate it correctly then godspeed will also be a lot faster… godspeed… sending an electric signal to my muscles enhancing my reaction time… if I use that same technic to boost any other part of my body… the possibilities are countless, but for now."

Lighting started surrounding his arm. He pulled his hand back and threw the ball.

"Crap I put more strength than I intended to…"

Aizawa: 903.7

Red hair: Wow, I thought his quirk is superspeed but now… is it enhancing or something?

Ponytail: I'm not sure

"That technic was similar to godspeed so it was easy to pull it off, but I want to test it with both energies. Right now, I only use positive energy but if I time it right. The moment the positive energy and the negative energy crash back together then it will be far stronger. (A/N Uncle Iroh, you're the best idea generator) As for the electrical signals… if I can manipulate the energy in my body to an injured part then I might be able to heal way faster and if that works with me then I might be able to do it in someone else's body and activate their healing factor to act faster."

His attention was pulled on the broccoli boy that was about to throw the ball. He used Gyo, he might not be able to see anything that can connect the quirk to Nen but, when Gyo is applied in the eyes it allows the user to see concealed aura. For example, invisibility girl? Not invisible against Gyo. Now, even if quirks and Nen are different, they are somewhat the same. He can see the traces of the quirk like a secondary aura of some kind. As for right now, a moment ago the broccoli boy had an immense amount of said energy – let's call it quirk energy – in his throwing hand. When Aizawa used his own quirk, his eyes as well as his target was covered with his quirk energy, in a way he doesn't really erase his target's quirk, he actually puts an immense amount of his energy into his target's energy and restricts it. As for red cheeks, her quirk is zero gravity. It works like Aizawa's quirk, she surrounds people or objects with her quirk energy, her quirk energy is naturally zero gravity but to work she has to touch her target so she can spread her energy and then pull the trigger. In her case, the trigger is to connect all her fingers.

"Hm? Why the hell All might is here? Wait… is he stalking Broccoli boy?"

Killua disappeared in the shadows going unnoticed by everyone.

Killua: You know, you're not as discreet as you may think you are. All Might flinched and his sudden appearance but he didn't make a sound.

All Might: How did you do that? He whispered.

Killua: Former assassin remember? Sneaking up on others is kind of a requirement.

All Might: Right… They remained silent for a little while as each was looking at the other internally until Killua broke of their stare down and turned to the broccoli boy that now had gathered all his quirk energy in his finger.

"he's going to break his finger, but I suppose it's better than breaking his whole hand," he thought.

Killua: You know you had to teach him quirk control before school started, you didn't leave him any time to try and learn to control his NEW quirk.

All Might turned his attention back to Killua, eyes wide open with surprise and maybe a little bit of panic, okay a lot of panic.

All Might: How…

Killua: Like I said you're not as discreet as you think you are… the beach, I also trained there. It's actually a miracle that no one else found out.

All Might: You knew all along…?

Killua: Yeah… look you don't have to worry about me spilling out secrets, as you know I have plenty myself.

All Might: Right… then I shall take you on your word

Killua: Yeah, but try and be less suspicious maybe…

All Might: You're a good kid young Zoldyck…

Killua: Killua, I would prefer if you call me like that. I'm not particularly fond of my family's name.

All Might: Killua it is then. I'm afraid I have to go back now; it was a nice chat. He said as he stormed off unnoticed by the rest of the students, while Killua also walked back as he had never left in the first place.

Aizawa: What did he want?

Killua: Nothing, just a checkup.

The rest of the tests went by in a blink of an eye. The sit-ups, the seated toe-touch, and the long-distance run. Just basic fitness tests.

Killua, ended up in first place, while the ponytail, Yaoyorozu Momo was in second place and third place was Todoroki Shoto.

"Todoroki Shoto, the look in his eyes is the same as the one I used to have before I met Gon. So, he's from a shitty family too huh?... as for broccoli boy… last place. Oh well, it's not like he's going to be expelled not after the look Shota gave him"

Aizawa: By the way, I was lying about the expulsion. Again, most of the students had dumbfounded and hilarious looks on their faces. It was a rational deception to draw out the upper limits of your quirks. He said with his signature evil smile.

Yaoyorozu: Of course, that was a lie. It should have been obvious if you just thought it through. Killua then grinned at her logic.

Killua: Not necessary.

Yaoyorozu: Huh?

Killua: It was a deceiving lie that can also be a truth, a lie within a lie. In other words, Izuko, you impressed him and proved to him that you could still keep on going even though you have a broken finger. You're still here because of the determination you displayed.

Yaoyorozu: That doesn't make any sense

Killua: It doesn't have to make sense.

Aizawa: he's right, it's a tactic that is used quite a lot in the underworld. But at the same time, I could be lying from the start as Yaoyorozu said.

Killua: That's true. They exchanged another meaningful look, then Aizawa turned to Izuko and gave him a note to go to the nurse's office. While Killua disappeared in the locker room to change back to his school uniform, well school pants, they did say it would take a while to get a shirt and blazer in his size.

As he was walking out of U.A.'s building with his skateboard in hand, he felt a presence coming closer to him, he just stopped and turned around.

Killua: Can I help you Tenya? He said catching him off guard by the way he addressed him.

Ida: You are aware of the dress code are you not Zoldyck? Just because you finished in the first place doesn't mean you get to disrespect the school.

Killua: As always you jump to conclusions… They didn't have my size, so I will have to wear whatever, instead of the school uniform. As for the chain, it's my wallet. He said pulling out his wallet that was attached to the chain. Also, call me Killua.

Ida: I see, I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions without knowing the full story, Killua.

Killua: I don't mind, but you really need to be more relax and open-minded, like I told you at the exam orientation, being uptight can lead you into trouble. Tenya's expression changed into an embarrassed one as he remembered the commotion in the exam orientation. Well, I'll see you tomorrow. He said as he got on his skateboard and headed back home.
