23 Chapter 23: Yeet!

[After the repeated side steps]
"Ugh... I can't believe Mineta was the best in the class..." Hitomi cringes!
"While true... It was only the repeated side steps" Toru pats her arm comfortingly
"And now it's time to play with balls!" Mina cheers while the other three stare at her "What?"
"You know what you did" Hitomi scolds her
"Yeah I do..." She droops... "It was funny though!"
"Nnnno it wasn't" Hitomi shakes her head as they arrive at the assembled students in front of Aizawa holding one of the distance measuring balls
"Now then... This will be pretty straightforward as this exam was already demonstrated by Bakugo at the begining, you'll go in order and use your Quriks, if useful, to get the ball as far as you can... Any questions?"
Hitoshi raises a hand "Do we have to use our Quirks?"
Aizawa stares at him for a little longer than necessary "It is highly recommended that you do, anything goes as long as you're in the circle" he looks around "Anyone else? Good. Aoyama C'mon..."
Hitomi looks at Mina and Toru "Well... I don't really see how you guys can use your Quirks in this situation..."
Mina sighs "Yeah it'll be pointless coating it in acid... I'll just throw it the best I can"
"Same here... Though it's not looking good for me not being expelled..." Toru hugs herself and lowers her head...
"Hey hey hey don't be that way... You're gonna be fine I know it..." Hitomi rests her hands on Toru's shoulders...
"Yeah you're gonna be fine Toru... Chin up if it's not already!" Mina says as she heads off to do her throw
Hitoshi looks around "Besides there are others that stink at these, Me, Midoriya, Kaminari, Kirishi-"
"Hey why's my name in there!?" Kaminari appears at his shoulder
"I've been keeping track of the results and you're down at the end with the rest of us" he shrugs
"Oh man really...? I gotta step up my game then...!" He wanders away phycing himself up!
Mina comes back after an average throw "Yup! I sucked, as expected"
"You didn't suck you were normal" Hitomi says more for Toru's benefit than Mina's...
"Normal sucks though" Mina shrugs completely missing the point, causing Hitoshi to smack her on the back of the head "Ow! Assault!"
"Hey Hitoshi... Can I have a quick word?" Hitomi gestures a bit away from everyone else
"Uhhh... Sure?" he follows after her as Toru and Mina look after them curiously... "So what's up?"
"Aizawa said anything goes as long as you're in the circle..." She looks at him seriously
"Yyyyeah?" He frowns "He did"
She grips his shoulder "I want you to use your Quirk to make me throw for you"
"What!? Why?" He brushes off her hand
"Look... The class will find out your Quirk eventually... I say we control the how and when and by showing how chill I am about it it'll make it seem less... Scary"
"But... With Shidō... Are you really comfortable with it...?"
She smiles softly... "Heh... You're a good guy Hitoshi..." Her smile grows and she gives him a thumbs up "I trust you fully, just make sure to wake me up straight away ok?"
He rolls his eyes and smiles "Of course I will, you know that"
"Oh also add some useless showy stuff while doing it!" She grins!
"Whhhhy?"
"Because we're probably gonna end up fighting our classmates soon enough so it'll give you an edge" her grin turns a little bit evil
"Sometimes you scare me..." He laughs
She laughs with him "What else are friends for?"
They keep laughing as they return back to Mina and Toru
"Hey guys what we miss?" Hitomi raises a hand in greeting
"Nothin' much, we're just waiting for Uraraka's ball to come back down" Mina says while staring up in the sky
Hitomi looks up but shrugs "I can't see that far"
"Oh! Well she threw the ball and it just kept going up and up and up and up an-" Toru elbows her! "Ow!"
"Hmm..." Hitoshi rubs his chin "It seems to be going at a constant speed but not very fast"
"Is it still going up?" Hitomi takes the same pose as Hitoshi
Mina holds her hands over her eyes in a binocular shape "Yup! It's not stopping"
"Ahhh... So that's her Quirk, that's quite useful" Hitomi smiles
Toru tilts her head "You figured out her Quirk?"
"She can remove the effect of gravity on things" she chuckles "Unless she can/does disable the effect then that ball will never come back down"
Mina and Toru "Oooooo" together while Hitoshi nods in agreement
And sure enough, Aizawa eventually shows his phone displaying a score of infinity. While others are confused about how it's possible Hitomi smirks! "Called iiiiit" Mina, Toru and Hitoshi quietly clap for her genius as the next student steps up to throw

"Shinso, you're up" Aizawa gestures to the circle
Hitoshi looks at Hitomi... Giving her one last chance to back out... She just smiles and pushes him towards the front, following behind him on the way. She stops at the front of all the students and slowly makes her body as stiff as possible as Hitoshi steps into the circle
'Here we go...' he gets down on his knees and turns his head back to the crowd "Hey Hitomi!?"
She smirks "Yeah!?" Her already stiff body freezes up
"Thanks for giving permission!" He turns back and rests his fingers on his temples then begins to "strain" 'Step forward into the circle'
Hitomi stifly walks forward into the circle. Causing confused murmurs to pass through the crowd of students, Aizawa calls out though "It's fine, it's not against the rules"
'Pick up the ball and throw it as far as you can in the direction I'm facing' Hitomi picks up the ball and faces the same direction
She plants her feet, grips the ball and pulls her arm back next to her head while twisting her upper body to the side... Tightening the muscles in her arm, legs and waist...
She then steps forward into the throw, while releasing the tension in her waist to spin, swinging her arm upwards past her head at the same time to add momentum to the ball and release it at the apex of the arc sending the ball flying!
After the ball lands Aizawa displays his screen showing "271.3 meters... Not bad"
"Excuse me sir!" Ida raises his hand steps forward "I fail to understand what is going on here! Why did you allow another student to throw for Shinso!? That does not adhere to the rules you se-!"
"The rules I set. Include that anything goes as long as you're in the circle... Including using your Quirk of course"
"I understand that but that does not explain why you allowed another student from outside the circle to enter and throw for him!" He points to the circle!
"Because I used my Quirk to do it." Everyone turns to face the circle where an "exhausted" Hitoshi is being helped to his feet and supported by a mind control free Hitomi
"You what?" He frowns
"I used my Quirk to make her come and throw for me." He stares into Ida's shocked eyes "I controlled her" this sends a gasp through some students and muttering through the entire crowd
"I... I see..." Ida clenches his fists! Then bows to Hitoshi "I apologise for my outburst! Thank you for clarifying the situation!" He turns and bows to Aizawa "I apologise for challenging you Mr Aizawa!"
"It's fine... Now everyone settle down, Sato you're next"
Hitomi commits to the act and helps Hitoshi walk back into the group, the group in question giving Hitoshi occasional glances... And then there's Mina
"Tell me how it woooorks!!" She grabs Hitoshi by the shoulders and shakes him!
Toru tugs Hitomi's sleeve "Hey are you ok Hitomi...?"
She smiles "Yeah I'm fine, nothing to worry about"
"Good..." She wipes her brow in relief "In that case... Can we worry about my throw now...!?"
Seeing as Hitomi has already thrown the ball her turn is skipped over and so she spends the other throws coaching Toru on proper throwing technique, leading to Toru to make a throw of...
"54 meters!" Cries the ball
Toru runs back to Hitomi "How'd I do...?"
"You did great Toru!" She hugs her tight "That's a great score... Well done"
Toru remains silent...
"Toru...?" She leans back and looks at her... Seeing Toru's frozen face radiating heat like the sun! "T-Toru...?"
"H... H..." She squeaks "Hug...!"
Hitomi finally realizes what's she's doing... Squeezing the shorter girl in her embrace... And jumps back from Toru like she's just caught fire! But the only fire is on both Toru and Hitomi's faces "S-sorry! Your p-personal space!"
"I-it's ok...! I-i-it was great! I-I mean nice! I mean...!?" She takes a few deep breaths! "I don't mind..." She glances to the side... Still blushing
"I-I'm glad to hear that..." She smiles while still blushing "I wouldn't wanna make you uncomfortable..."
Hitomi focuses on Toru's eyes... And Toru looks at Hitomi's bandages... Wishing she could look into her eyes...
"A-anyway! Let's watch the rest of the throws! We've missed a few" Toru holds Hitomi's shoulders and turns her to face away while the snakes inspect her hands
Hitomi laughs "Ok, who's up next?"
Mina taps her chin "Given class order it should beeee..."
Hitoshi points at the one stepping forward to the circle "Midoriya"
